Revealed secrets and unwelcome guests

I guessed right—Feibai did go to Lishan Academy to check what's happening there. ☝️And it's exactly what we already suspected: there's no one left. Since we haven't actually seen any graves yet, I won't jump to the conclusion that they are all dead just yet, but I still think it's the most likely answer to their fate. 😟🤧The surprise on everyone's faces when they saw Mo Xiuyao standing—no, dancing with the blade—swift, precise, and deadly... AMAZING! 🤩😏Su Zuidie looks very suspicious to me, and it seems she doesn't have a very good relationship with Princess Lingyun. 🤔 I noticed back in the previous episode that the Princess was somewhat displeased when Zuidie took it upon herself to decide on the carriage arrangements, regardless of whether it was the right call or not. I'm actually starting to get the feeling that she intentionally collapsed in front of Lady Wen's carriage just to worm her way inside Prince Ding's mansion! 🤨😟Also, Mo Jingli and Ye Li's letters being added to the mix might stir up some serious trouble for our lovey-dovey couple. 🫢I wonder why Consort Dowager Qin pleads such loyalty to the Empress Dowager. Is she genuinely that loyal, or is she just pretending to be? 🤔🤨

The people of Lishan Academy

A very good episode. 🌟 Xiuyao realised what has happened with A'Li, and how she has been living in the Lishan Academy.😌That scene where the eunuch (I forgot his name) kept asking where everyone is, pointing as if she was intentionally lying, was frustrating. 😤 I am so grateful to Xiuyao for shouting at him to shut him up, yet that didn't really change anything, because now he has gone back to the capital to inform the Empress Dowager. 🙄But all of that actually leads to thinking: was it really an ordered massacre of the Lishan Academy, or maybe something entirely different wiped it out? 🤔That scene at the end where A'Li prepared a meal for all the members of Lishan Academy and introduced them to her husband, and him to them... I can't even describe how heavy my heart got for her and her mental state. 🥺🤧 A'Yao acted along as if everything she sees is true... And that makes me wonder—if and how they will set her mind back to a normal state? 🤔 Either she heals just by being surrounded with living people, specifically Xiuyao, and eventually forgets about these delusions while he gradually feeds her the information that they died, or it might be some very traumatic shock moment that just takes her back to the moment where she lost them all, making her realise what has happened. 😔

Seeking truth

I love that it wasn't dragged out for too long and Ye Li was able to clear her name quickly, and that they could catch the real culprit—Su Zuidie. 👏 And good job Han Mingxi for getting that regular worker spot! 🤗👏Also... Zuidie's line: "Once Lingyun is dead, Dachu and Cangbei will inevitably go to war." Does it sound like the princess might not be dead? (Maybe it's a trick of translation, I don't know) 🤔I wonder what Marquis Muyang will do now when faced with such an open accusation in his very presence—and one he can't really deny? That man or his men really are sloppy when it comes to such schemes and silencing acts. 🤦‍♀️🙄

I didn't expect this

OMG, what a twist! I never ever expected they would kill Princess Lingyun. Maybe injure, but kill? I am beyond shocked! 😲 How will that affect Feng? OK, he doesn't know Yun was the princess, but now he will wait for her and she will never come... 😔😢But I did like the fact that Mingxi recognised Zuidie and even knows she's involved with his brother and the Tianji Pavilion—thus pointing to Prince Li, I guess. I have high hopes they can solve this quickly. Fingers crossed! 🤞🙏I wonder about Tianyang and Consort Dowager Qin's relationship. I think he likes her, actually. And I want to applaud her for giving the edict to Ye Li! 👏 If only Marquis Muyang and the Empress Dowager knew... 😌🤭And that bonding conversation between Xiuyao and that guy in red armour (sorry, can't remember his name) was quite nice. 🤗😌 It's good that he has come around and now actually respects Prince Ding, because I remember he was all for making accusations at first.

A wholesome relationship and a bit of truth

I just love how wholesome A'Li and A'Yao's relationship is. He wanted to feed her and held her hand while they were sitting there with Zuidie. And that's a statement and reassurance from him... It's quite rare to see such a main couple in a historical drama, I think. Usually, there's something that is making them break up or argue a lot. This is a very nice difference. ✨🥰But Zuidie killing that drunkard so coldly just because he pushed her? That girl might have mental problems, I think. 😬As it looks, the Marquis maybe actually cared about Qin Cang on some level, but well... he showed that care in a very wrong way. And now there is no turning back... sorry, man! ☝️🤷‍♀️😒And Feibai returned finally! The expression on his face when he looked at Ye Li... I wonder what he learned up there on the mountain—are they really dead? I suppose so. But maybe he learned something more. 🤨🥺 And Mingxi being jealous of Feibai? Ehh... 🤔Highlight: Xiuyao's aide thinking Feng Zhiyao was into men... 😂🤣

Didn't expect this plot twist

Oh, what a father Marquis Muyang is! I wouldn't wish such a father even on my enemy... 😒The situation with his sons was actually a great plot twist! 😲 I thought the Marquis preferred Qin Cang over Tianyang, but no... He actually just "tamed" him to use as his "bloodhound", and the bait was always fatherly love and public recognition as his son. At least now Qin Cang will know better, because I am quite sure he survived. The Prefecture's guards probably got medical attention in time to save him so they can interrogate him later. ☝️🤨Tianyang turning out to be a genuine brother was a nice twist too, and it just proves the theory (not mine) that he might be pretending to have that awful personality. I hope he and Qin Cang actually can develop a nice relationship later. 😌The reveal of who Qin Cang's mother is felt like a cover story to hide his real birth origins. Maybe it wasn't something for the Consort Dowager's ears to hear, so they used this version? Maybe he actually has some relation to the royal family? 🤔It gets clearer and clearer that Mingxi might be developing some deeper feelings for A'Li. Not sure if it's love, but adoration for sure. I wonder how that will turn out later... 😟I was really relieved A'Li and A'Yao's relationship wasn't ruined with those letters. They solved that quickly and even deepened their adorable marriage and bond. 😌🥰🤗Highlight of this episode:Xiuyao: "Where did you go?"A'Li: "I... went to fight."Xiuyao: "Where? Why?"A'Li: "A brothel." 😂🤣

Salty & Shrimpy

Zhang Hailou, aka "Salty", with the special ability of blade-spitting, and Zhang Haixia, aka "Shrimpy", with an extraordinary sense of smell. 😏Oh, I am going to love this! Their dynamics are amazing and there's enough comedy, action, suspense and, above all, their amazing friendship! 🤗🤭❤️

An Entertaining Duo and the Mysteries of Grief

Oh, I finally got to see Lin Muran's character, Han Mingxi, and I think I will enjoy him a lot! The dynamics between him and Ye Ying are already such great entertainment. Their scenes will probably be among those I am looking forward to the most! 🤭😂Prince Li I dislike more and more with each scene he's in. And that threat to drown himself in the pond? Yeah.... not a good impression of that character.😩 I am happy his wife has found new people to communicate with (pointing at Han Mingxi), even if he's an "assassin". 😏Xiuyao knows about Qingshuang's existence in A'Li's mind now, and I wonder what he will do when he finds proof that she's not alive anymore? Will he tell his wife or will he play along? 🤔I think at some point someone should "wake her up" the same way she did with Xiuyao's brother's wife. Though the situations are different due to other obstacles A'Li has gone through, the weight of her grief is affecting her in a very similar way.... after all, what were her words in the previous episode? "She has had this dream for eight years. Now it's destroying her. And now it's time for her to wake up." ☝️😔Once they all realise everything, I wonder how long those around her will let A'Li live in her delusional world. 🤔

They should team up

When I saw Lu Changfu, I was like... Didn't he die already? Yeah, they got me there for a bit. But it was quite funny to watch how Prince Ding with his men planned and planned how to kill that guy, and then he just surprisingly dies in a completely unimaginable way. The confusion on their faces was priceless! But I realised I got something wrong before—I thought she was helping her husband secretly, but actually, she had her own vengeful reasons to kill those men. I really can't wait for them to realise that their plans align—they would be such a great and cunning team! Interesting how her Senior Brother noticed she's talking to Qingshuang and clearly knows she's dead, yet chose not to tell her anything... How I wanted to hug her for getting her mentor from Lishan Academy a steward's job in her shop! And I kind of love her voodoo thing going on all the time! P.S. The little bits we saw this episode are proof enough to say that the other prince definitely didn't choose to marry Ye Li's sister willingly!

I wasn't prepared for this...

They must be kidding! Both of her parents died in one episode? I wasn't prepared for that... not one bit. At least Zhao has learned the truth about the pill A'Jiu gave to her father, and hopefully, they will be fine from now on.

Question of the day — Who will get to control General Chu Ling's 200 000-men army?

Could Madam Ge be Chu Zhao’s mother? I am about 99% sure she is. There were so many hints, and when she said that line, “your mother loves you too”, it completely sold the theory for me. I loved how Chu Zhao got that new guy, Liang Qiang, all confused about how she knows him and why she knows so much, and later to find out that she’s actually General Ling’s daughter, not to mention the Grand Princess! Yeah, that was pretty funny. And, oh, what an emotional moment it was when Chu Zhao met Zhong Changrong... that scene made my eyes water—they enhanced her last memory of him dying by playing with those colours again. And he didn't even know how much meeting him alive meant to Chu Zhao. Also, that political war over who will get to control General Chu Ling’s 200,000-man army? Yanfang intercepting Deng Yi’s written edict and ruining the plan to incorporate another general—probably one loyal to Xiao Xun—was smart. I think Yanfang was pretty satisfied that A'Yu would give that army to Yanlai if General Chu Ling died, because in that case, he assumes he might have some control over it himself, considering his supposed hold over Yanlai. We’ll see about that, though!I can't get enough of watching Deng Yi and Xie Yanfang exchanging their "pleasantries". It's always a delight!

Doubts and questions

This episode was quite an emotional roller-coaster! 😮Firstly, we had all the drama and fear for the lives of our main couple. It was very, very emotional, especially from Prince Ian's side. And the twist that the target was actually the Prince? No wonder all our villains were confused about what the hell happened! I am pretty sure the Queen or her father is behind this. 🤔🤨Secondly, I am very curious what that maid said to PM Min! 🧐 I somehow expected that to maybe be in the Epilogue, but we got some rom-com lovey-dovey moments instead. Not that I'm complaining, though! 🤭💕And thirdly, I want to know who found the contract and how they organized the leaking. I already have some suspects, and one of them is actually PM Min. 🤨 But atm there's too many possibilities, so the truth there is quite unpredictable. 🤷‍♀️

Two-year plans in motion

And there it was — Mao and his father's two-year masterplan to convict WuYi as a traitor. 😒😤But no matter how hard they try, WuYi has such a capable team of people who would do anything to clear his name and free him. AND they are working non-stop. And even if they seem to be always a moment too late to get some evidence, they still have enough to blackmail Mao and GT Xie into releasing WuYi, Xiao Ju and Xiao Yao. 😌🫣I absolutely loved how JiaYu let Mao know of her loyalty and support for WuYi — firstly by making him give her the decree and seal of her investiture as Prince Jian'an Heir's consort, even if her husband had already been taken to prison on charges of treason, and secondly by rejecting him when she showed him the proof of his true lineage... That's the wife JiaYu is! 👏❤️And the scholar guy being the one who helped frame the Xiao family definitely will be reason enough for YuanJi not to want any romance with him anymore. I hope Yao's time comes soon. 🤞P.S. The scene where WuYi thought that JiaYu might kiss him... 🤭 Yeah, buddy, not gonna happen in this drama. Forehead kisses, embraces, and holding hands are all you're getting. 👆

Two years later...

I didn't expect the time skip. 😯 But then, thinking about it a little, maybe this two-year skip did make some sense, because before that, everyone reached a conclusion of sorts.LeJun went to Northern Qin and met the Eagle King, who took her in with arms wide open—or, more precisely, brought her to his place, carrying her over his shoulder. I wonder how they are doing now, because since the time skip, they haven't been shown yet. 🤨JiaYu travelled around looking for minerals and mines, and even got Cui Shan'An as her apprentice or assistant (I wasn't sure which exactly), but he looked at her weirdly, so—does he fancy her? 🤨 However, she rushed back to Jiankang because of some corrupt officials. It turned out WuYi was already on the case and was actually pretending to be the bribe-taker.... Well, that went smoothly, didn't it? 😂 But they are both still acting as if they hadn't been separated for two years. Actually, their relationship seems even closer and more wholesome than before. Except for the fact that WuYi hasn't told her yet that he has only a few years left to live.... and before the skip he rejected the treatment Rui Sheng offered. This is one thing I am worried about a little—what if this is bringing us slowly to a sad ending? 😟Regent Prince Qi is now beloved among the people and seemingly has no ill intentions towards JiaYu and WuYi, even preparing gifts for her on being promoted to WuYi's official consort. But I do wonder what he is doing behind the scenes, because I remember how he and WuYi parted ways in the previous episode, and it wasn't that nice or friendly at all. 🤔 And the fact that he has taken that dancer who looks like JiaYu when she smiles as his concubine... red flag, much? 🫣Over these two years, YuanJi has stabilised the situation with the He family and now wants to travel, likely with that lover of hers. But I still root for Yao to win her heart and for her to stay at Prince Jing'an's mansion. I really hope something changes her mind or she eventually understands that maybe she sees him as more than just a big brother. 😔🤞Overall, this felt like a bridge episode.
