I wanna see them slowly working on Liu Yi's issues with physical intimacy. It's the first BL novel in which I have read something like this. It was really nice after all the dubious consent and aggressive tops tropes I have read in Chinese BL novels.

All I can say is that I need to start reading the novel.

I want to read the novel so badly. Reading the novels before watching the dramas definitely makes dramas more enjoyable for me but I'm already reading some other danmei and can't pick up this right now.

Not all characters can be of everyone's liking I guess. We know XF is shy, timid and has low self esteem. He has been conditioned to sacrifice himself for his family since childhood. He feels like LQ helps his family because he sleeps and do chores for him. Combined with his love for LQ and pressure from his family, all his actions make sense to me.
He tried to leave it all behind and asked for divorce. He refused to move in with LQ. He has started taking interest in stock market and learning new things. He argued with his brother when he felt his brother's action can harm LQ. I see it all as his character development.
He folded real quick when his family needed help because he's conditioned to do so since forever. When LQ implied that not moving in would mean complete break up, he took the key because he love LQ. He still can't share his thoughts on business with others because he's not confident. It all makes sense to me.
Changing your habits and thought process takes time. Specially if we aren't trying to do it consciously. Even in real life, it takes up years to change our behaviour and personality.
I don't think he's gonna become this confident businessman who's equal to his partner at the end of the show. I feel like he's gonna stay this soft, submissive guy even if he sets some boundaries with his family and saves LQ's money and becomes very knowledgeable about stock market. Because that's what he is. That's how some people are. People can dislike the character and the show but expecting all characters to develop or act in a way people feel they should is not it.

People want xiao fan to turn in to a boss bitch instantly. They don't care about characters' background, nature, development etc.

I think people need everything to be said out loud for them.

XF just want to be a submissive house husband. As long as LQ is loyal and loves him, he's happy in their dynamic. In that scene with his coworker, he couldn't even let her touch his scarf. All he thought was his "moments" with LQ.

Not every show can have power bottoms. If XF character brothers you so much, just don't watch it.

They are the leads of Sammy's Children's Day. It's my current favourite bl. Their onscreen and offscreen chemistry is really good.

For me, in last scene XF biting LQ's thumb indicates that he's a willing participant their weird power dynamic relationship.

There was one called Uncontrolled Love. Round trip to love (adaptation of the same book double helix is based on but more honest) was also crazy. I don't have many recommendations because most of those were low budget shows being reuploaded by random people with sentences as titles instead of actual titles. Then there are famous once like Addicted, advance bravely (labeled bromance) etc but they have different stories than this format.

This series reminds me of older Chinese BLs with power dynamic of master and slave. One is arrogant and dictatorial while other one is submissive to the point of being pathetic. You kids can complain about XF not having a backbone at all but all I see two people who fit each other well. XF is too timid and weak to be in a relationship with anyone else. He is completely devoted to LQ no matter what. LQ is doing what he thinks is needed for him to be in the position where he can be with XF. He's hurting XF in process but he loves him. This show is giving me nostalgia and I'm loving it.

First I heard that the shooting is gonna start in August and now I'm hearing that we can get some news in September. It's getting scary now. You're right about promotions though. There's so much content but no confirmation of season 2.
