I started watching this drama because edits made it look like censored BL and now I'm watching it because of the mystery and revenge. I dislike Pio's character and I dislike that people keep making excuses for him. Get over it.

Jeong Yo's mother died in front of him, he lived in poverty with a alcoholic man who hated him, then he was haunted by loan sharks but he didn't turn out to be like Pio. Pio is still getting pushed around at 26 acting all fragile with no agency. People like you weaponize "empathy" to justify their biases and stupid takes. I'd talk about toxic empathy but yours is not even that. Your so called empathy won't exist if Pio didn't look the way he does. Also in next episode your poor pio is not gonna go to police because the mommy dearest is gonna threaten self harm. He won't be able to say the truth in front of Jeong Yo either and would sit in front of piano acting all conflicted while doing nothing about the situation. Then you guys would get more material to cry about his trauma while he takes no responsibility and doesn't do anything to change the situation. I don't empathize with him. I don't find his character lovable or respectable. I don't care about what excuses this characters' fans make. I ain't moving unless he improves. That's it.

You can simp on Pio and baby him all you want but you can't say that he'd definitely win without Jeong Yo's interpretation. There were other talented candidates and their pieces could have been better than what Pio could come up with on his own. Specially considering how obsessed and mentally unstable Pio was at that time. I think what he did was pathetic and I won't ever find him respectable unless he comes clean about it in front of everyone. Idc what Jeong Yo is or isn't angry about. This is the hill I'm dying on. I'm not getting over the fact that Pio never came clean about the secret of his victory. Idc if Jeong Yo loves him, forgives him or they become as close as they were before in the end. Unless he admits it in front of media, I'm not believing in his friendship and sincerity towards Jeong Yo.

I'm actually glad it's not a BL. In the end I can accept Jeong Yo being friends with Pio after everything. Atleast surface level friendship can be maintained between them. I won't be able to accept them getting back together after everything Pio and his mother has inflicted on Jeong Yo. Their friendship is toxic enough. If it was a relationship, it would have been a disaster.
Also shippers are in for a hard time because I'm pretty sure the twist is that they're half brothers and that's why Pio's mother hate Jeong Yo so much.
