This is what happens when a male actor gains a lot of deranged shippers from a recent hit drama. The same thing happened with PC but thankfully it aired after a gap, so they were much less active. This drama came out so soon after his last one, which is why they're still actively trying to tank its rating.

I wouldn't call this drama a masterpiece but a 6.9? It deserves min 8.0 to an 8.4. Plenty of average, formulaic new Cdramas are getting 8+ these days.

Another factor is the angst and the overall Republican era setting. Ik a lot of people aren't into that and the stupid director definitely made some mistakes too. But I don't believe it would have dropped to a 6.9 without an organized effort to drag it down.

One thing I've learned is that big fandom shippers aren't necessarily fans of the male lead. They wouldn't be spreading hate toward the ship's female actor's dramas.

I started feeling like that after watching that one :) I hope he does something like HL again. His type of handsome guys fit in modern drama the most

they really want to torture him to death. When he stormed off before the wedding, neither Susu nor his brother went after him to comfort him. He came back on his own and convinced himself that Susu marrying his brother would at least let her stay by his side😭 I felt so bad for him while somehow laughing at the same time. ZLH has such yearning eyes, even in real life. He really knows how to make me feel bad for a man.

Susu didn’t suddenly fell in love. She has always loved Qingyi but just not as much as he loves her. She has always prioritise her goals and revenge over him. But I get your sentiment bcz I feel the same. This male lead giving up and ruining their life for female lead and female lead dumping him trope has gotten very popular in cdramas for some reason. Many women finds it dreamy but I feel equality makes it more dreamy. But this one is still better than TFF. Atleast susu goes to save Qingyi sometimes

People can already tell what you're doing just from the first two lines. They don't need to read the rest.

editing wasn't good initially and it got better, not in some masterpiece level but on moderate level. The leads and story are very interesting to watch. Everything became good to watch after ep7. But this director should seriously retire. His lack of skill sabotaged a drama like this which had so much natural hype even before airing
