Ep 32: This was our hard truth episodes and I loved it. Zhao ling telling tingyun nothing is perfect in this world. She needed that head knock she was pissing me off. Ms Yake telling Yu dude that anyone that married him would have ended up dull (someone needed to tell him that), happy she chose herself. She has come a long way. That scene at the restaurant, I repeat tingyun isn’t angry enough, this man made her almost lose her life and lose her reputation thrice. He and his dad just recently used her as a stepping stone expecting her to at least stab him with a hairpin isn’t asking for much. Anytime he talks about loving her, I feel bloodthirsty (my blood boils).
Ep 31: This couple and their discord at this crucial time is pissing me off, even enemies know when to call a truce. Tingyun should have worked with him, maybe they would have found a better solution because the salt censor case shows that the emperor’s choice can be changed especially with the fact that this affects his foundation (relying completely on the emperor is a dead end). Her snapping at him at that moment was so inconsiderate, she wasn’t closer to general Mo than he was. Also her regretting her choice, sis forgot she manipulated him into joining the emperor then the army, expecting him to be completely obedient after many years is ridiculous. She’s not yet grasping the lane they are on. Both of them are just going too fast (zhao ling), going too slow (tingyun).

Now I understand why Zhao ling wanted to kill him in the desert (even though that was reckless). What’s with these military guys and recklessly pursuing merit first zhao ye with the heads count now general Mo, it’s like they lack self preservation. Yu dude screaming at his father about a woman’s reputation like he didn’t do the same thing. I won’t never understand why children from power obsessed family don’t readily drop their lives or positions, they readily kill and use others but are not ready to be used for the clan’s good. Now Zhao ling understand tingyun’s warning at the end she got to suffer the humiliation.
Came back after following till ep 28, needed an emotional breather. Ep 29: Zhao ling: I understand him offing his parasitic Mr fu, I wish tingyun’s mom had divorced him earlier. But he should have been more discreet in a way she wouldn’t find out. Tingyun: I understood her frustrations with him when the salt censor choice was being made but now I think it’s her that doesn’t understand the stakes, they are at war with the Yus, it’s all or nothing at this point. It’s not like lingchun town or the army. This is war with the major power, I’m screaming for her to wake up and support that man properly.

Unfortunately, we see her being coaxed again with bare minimum. She didn’t ask the right questions and he was the one seeking validation (which is weird because he knows she likes him). The situationship was a bad idea and girl is in for more heartache, I guess it’s youthful bad decisions but blame him more as the older and experienced person.
