I am so impressed with the way this whole sensitive issue of sex and intimacy issues were approached, that I am still shaking my head at how beautifully this series dealt with the array of dysfunction, trauma, clients' perceptions, and coping mechanisms that some of us have never heard about or even imagined. As human beings, sometimes we don't realize how complex we are, what past traumas have broken our spirits, who we are supposed to be, what we need. As this series started to unfold, you began to see this unconventional, maybe somewhat extreme, (according to some), sex therapist, who was totally invested in each client, using his psychological background, sharp insight, and intelligence to treat each issue with the utmost sensitivity, respect, compassion, honesty and support, without compromise. His determination to give of himself did not waver, even while he was dealing with his own painful trauma. As I quietly hoped for him and his girlfriend to find their way through their struggles, it was heartwarming to see some breakthrough coming for this couple and some of his clients at the end. My deepest respect and admiration goes to Nakajima Kento, who, as always, puts his heart and soul into everything he does, and he did not disappoint in this role, which was not an easy feat in any way. This young popular actor/singer has always challenged himself, taking on other genres, which has obviously broadened his emotional and dramatic range that he showed throughout the series. His costar and supporting cast were also outstanding in their portrayal of their diverse characters. This series was definitely created by the best of the best in the business, and I thank everyone who was involved in this brilliant series. Bravo!👏👏
Wow....this was an absolutely outstanding series that kept me glued to my chair by these intense, complex characters that fueled the great writing, which gave this drama, thriller, mystery quite an edge. Although it was dark, intense and complex, it maintained a good flow and balance that had me absorbed right from the get go. The acting throughout this series was incredible, giving the story realistically portrayed characters that were introduced into this psychological thriller drama. The lead actors were a great match in outstanding talent, especially the male lead, Seo In-guk, who had an intense emotional role mentally and physically, but maintained his role consistently throughout, which couldn't been easy on him. It must have been exhausting for this dedicated, extraordinary actor! The female lead was terrific and added great chemistry and some light into the heavy drama. The soundtrack was wonderful, and one song, a ballad by BEN, (a popular talented singer/songwriter who has worked on a lot of Korean soundtracks) sings the song called "Hug Me" that is a longer arrangement with a stunning melody in the soundtrack version, versus the very brief one you hear at the very end of the series. It is a beautiful piece of music. Thank you everyone who collaborated on this compelling series for your dedication in producing this great story.
Fell in love with these two characters and their slowly evolving story from the start. The brilliant writing was a great fit for all these talented wonders who really did justice to the storyline. The two lead actors added such warmth and intelligence that had me invested in their journey despite its share of struggles and slow growth. I was so captivated that I felt myself wanting to see these two beautiful souls finally connect and have their well deserved happiness as a solid, loving couple. A nicely balanced series with realistic character development and the right pacing, considering their personalities and the different stages of life they were in according to their age span. It is one of my favorite series I enjoy watching anytime. Thank you to all the talented geniuses involved in creating this enjoyable story.
Anything that Ji Chang Wook takes on turns to gold from this magnetic, handsome, extremely multi-talented actor and singer who can do it all. He doesn't disappoint in this series either, as a "James Bond" type of character, but so much better in the way that only Ji Chang can pull off with those beautiful eyes of his that speak volumes without any dialogue. Just standing in the room is enough to have all that charisma fill the screen! This story was well written allowing all the talented actors to add their own special flair of eclectic personalities to balance out the intrigue. Ji Chang's costar was a good acting partner for him creating nice chemistry for his character, adding the right comedic relief, character development and pacing. I especially loved the soundtrack that was composed and produced by some very talented artists... and as usual, Ji Chang Wook sings one of the most beautifully arranged ballads called "Watch Over You" , where you can listen to his clear, powerful voice , the voice of an extensively trained singer who started his early career in musicals. Between the stunning melody and Ji Chang's voice filled with emotion, it raises the goosebumps on my arms whenever I hear it. All in all, this is another one of Ji Chang Wook's series that I could re-watch and be captivated all over again. Thank you everyone involved in creating this enjoyable series that was a real treat. As an overseas fan who has watched too many American movies, I have now become a devoted fan of Korean productions as they are truly outstanding, which is something I have been missing overseas.
An enjoyable series that I felt was well done, as you would expect when you see it as a fantasy drama romance....the key word is fantasy.... that is what makes the story complex and different in the way it unfolds. As an overseas fan of watching a massive amount of recycled themes, of which some productions could do better, I enjoyed this series which gave me an interesting mix of subplots, and a peek into how some entertainment industries need to be mindful of their dedicated talents ' wellbeing, who really put so much of themselves mentally and physically into their craft. It was an eye opener for me and heartbreaking one to watch at times. The time travel aspects were typical of a fantasy series that did grab your attention in following the couple's journey of struggles, connections and some misguided ways of protecting each other. The music, and singing were beautifully done, especially by the multi-talented, magnetic male lead, Byeon Woo Seok, who, despite only brief vocal coaching, gave a stellar performance, surprising even Sandeul, one of the top singers, who praised his singing. This very versatile actor I have seen in other roles and admired his work each time. The great soundtrack created by the talented composers, producers for this series is definitely worth putting on a playlist as the music is something you don't get tired of, especially the stunning melodies. All the actors, from the two leads to the supporting cast were outstanding, showing an amazing emotional range and giving their characters great depth which moved the story along nicely. It's watching these Korean dramas and others that have made me a fan for life.
Definitely a series I would recommend that has a bit of everything in it to keep you interested.....the special effects alone are first rate, very realistic. All the actors were amazing...quite the eclectic mix, quirky, bizarre, that give the story some interesting, comedic and dramatic moments. The two main leads are both very multi-talented pros that gave their all in portraying their characters with incredible chemistry to give it that added spark. Everyone involved in creating Hotel Del Luna did a wonderful job.
One of my favorite series that I have watched many times to add lightness to a heavy day. I enjoyed this well written story that had so many fun characters surrounding the two main characters, which for me provided the perfect balance amongst some of the drama involved. The episodes flowed nicely with great character development and nice pacing. All the actors involved added such great colour to their characters showing great acting range all around. The two stars, of course, were the two lead actors who are both very polished professionals with phenomenal skills and powerful chemistry. It was interesting to watch this couple navigate office politics, family and each other, keeping me invested from the beginning to finale. Everyone involved in this production did a brilliant job in creating this series.
This is one series that really hit the mark for me in every area from writing, directing, producing, cinematography, editing, and of course, the outstanding performances of all the actors. The story kept me hooked from the beginning with its creative mix of subplots, background histories and the main characters' evolving relationship from their combative start. The two lead actors had a great rapport, however, the male lead, He Yu definitely stood out as the scene stealer. This young, handsome, charismatic, multi-talented wonder is quite something to watch as he handles his role with such realism. He is one actor to follow as I predict he is going places! This is a series I will be watching again. Brilliant!
I actually enjoyed this series because for me it was just the right mix of drama, fantasy, romance and a touch of comedy that kept me interested. The writers did a very good job of weaving into the main story the different subplots to keep it layered with a good flow. As always, Dai Gao Zheng gives us his usual exceptional performance as he does in every series I have seen this magnetic actor in, filling the screen by simply being in it. The production elements in the series were wonderful, especially the special effects, sets, cinematography and those gorgeous costumes that flowed around Dai's very attractive physique, and were stunning on his beautiful costar. I felt all in all this was a series I can watch anytime and still find it a viewing pleasure. Well Done by everyone.
I was captured immediately by this very intense, drama, thriller type series with one of my favorite actors, Dai Gao Zheng whose acting range is truly outstanding. He portrayed his character so realistically that you were shocked at his character's dark, cold, volatile personality that could leave you frozen in place. As the series progressed and revealed the horrific abuse both verbally and physically, his character went through, you realized how broken this person was who was still dealing with his trauma, and functioning as best as he could without the solid support he needed. It was heartbreaking watching this character live his life this way, so full of pain, raging inside and out. The female lead was a great costar that handled her role well, along with a stellar cast and provided good chemistry. I can only imagine what these actors like Dai go through when they are acting in these intense emotional scenes, what a mentally and physically exhausting time it is for them. Hopefully they look after their well-being. A brilliantly written story that had me rooting for these two characters in the end.
I found myself thoroughly enjoying this fine series that was well written, directed and produced. I loved these fascinating characters with their unique quirks and some traumatic backgrounds that blended well into the main story of these two combative personalities that the polished actors portrayed. The pacing flowed at a pace I liked, with the romance adding it's eventual spark to the story. All in all a series I would watch again,
Perfect Crown was one of those high-end productions that had a massive budget that allowed them to work with the best of the best. It was very obvious that everything from beginning to end was done using high standards in writing, directing, producing, cinematography that captured stunning scenery inside and out, beautifully designed costumes, whose colors matched the tone of each scene. Everything in this series flowed seamlessly from character development, pacing and subplots. I found myself totally absorbed in this story of intrigue, drama and romance, with a few comedy moments. The two lead actors were a good match....both extraordinary talents with great emotional range, very magnetic and able to portray their characters authentically. Everyone involved in this series did an extraordinary job.
Another wonderful series that I felt had everything in it that mattered .....like brilliant writing, great character development and pacing, with the right amount of episodes. This was a story with fascinating characters, one in particular, the director who was portrayed so realistically that I was ready to send him to anger management counseling.! You had a view of the typical office gossip, rivalry, corruption and competition, with the ever evolving romance between the main characters that had you captured from the very beginning. A beautiful job done by both the very multi-talented leads, especially, Seo In-guk the male lead who I have seen in another earlier very dark thriller, drama series where he was absolutely brilliant as the lead. A super job done by the amazing team that created this series that is worth watching. Well Done
This was a series that you can watch many times and still find it enjoyable. Kim Young Kwang, a magnetic, outstanding actor is remarkable in this role, as he is in other more intense dramatic genres I have seen him in recently. Truly a great actor that has a new Netflix series called Take Charge of My Heart coming up in October. His costar, Jin Ki-joon is the perfect female lead that adds great comedic relief and powerful chemistry. With the addition of the fantastic supporting cast, this series does not disappoint. Thank you to everyone behind the scenes of this series, and the composers and artists who produced the great soundtrack.
This is a series that is so entertaining that you can watch it many times and enjoy it each time. Kim Young Kwang and Jin Ki-joo bring a solid acting skill set to this serious with their powerful chemistry, comedic timing and magnetic screen presence, especially Kim.
Loved this series that had me intrigued, laughing, crying and some aahh moments watching the two leads' characters evolve personally, professionally and romantically. I felt the writers did an amazing job of the storyline, giving all the multi-talented actors a wide range to work with. The two lead actors, especially the male lead, Ji Chang Wook is a seasoned, polished pro who is an accomplishment actor and singer with a very magnetic screen presence, who brings his exceptional acting range to every role and genre I have seen him in. Both leads created such a powerful chemistry that sizzled on the screen and had great comedic timing. Thank you to the creative team that produced this entertaining series, and the composers and artists that collaborated to add the beautiful soundtrack driving the emotionally charged scenes. It's one that I enjoy listening do after a long day.
