It started with a bang, but after 3 episodes 4 we're back in conventional drama-land with all the boring worn-out…
an episode is only 15m so 4 episodes are add up to an hour. the story is on the premise that he'll protect her to death (even though he's a stickler to rules) so it only make sense they fleshed out how they meet and why they are in love. otherwise as viewer we would feel hollow or unable to connect to their passionate love to death journey that will be ahead.
I’m around episode 20 but I can’t help but feel bad for his setup. I don’t always feel bad for 2nd ML but…
i think in earlier episode, he said he can't remember her face. then during the flashback we saw her did a spell so he can't remember her right before she died. the only reason he think she's his reincarnated lover was because of the gemstone she left behind, which absorbed into ZY. I don't remember what's the explanation for that is.
I’m around episode 20 but I can’t help but feel bad for his setup. I don’t always feel bad for 2nd ML but…
I see.. Technically, he realized he love her BEFORE he knew she was the reincarnation. Which, we know now is not true. So I do think he love ZY, but now because of this misunderstanding, he allowing himself to love her. Whereas before, he struggled against it because he thought he was betraying his old love. I rather that continue to be the case instead of where we are now. It is kind of hard to handle his character. He supposed to be loyal and only love one person yet he fell in love with someone else. And we never knew why he fall for her and not everyone else, except for the fact he watched her grow up, but he did the same for all the Crimson Clan descendent.
I’m around episode 20 but I can’t help but feel bad for his setup. I don’t always feel bad for 2nd ML but I feel so bad for him, especially in ep 18 when FL egged him on about maybe liking him. I’m not talking about the market scene but the scene afterward where he explained to her what loving a person is like. I know FL is supposed to be innocent but some of the lines scripwriter wrote for her make me cringe. Now I’m on episode 20 and we found out that he has mistaken FL for his lover reincarnation when her soul told him she been lying to him for over 200 years? What a painful twist. If she didn’t lie he would have not continue liking FL. What did he do to deserve this? I hope he don’t turn evil but wouldn’t be surprised if he do. Just my rant on the way the story set him up.
I'm watching episode 9-10 and currently at the arc where the dad passed away. The whole Bai family (except Fengyao) disgust me so much I just want to skip all their scenes but this arc has so much of them, that I just want to drop the series. Should I continue? When will this father arc end?
I can't believe it's over. Time to re-watch it from the beginning. I have watched almost all the Xianxia that came out the past few years with an exception of a few, and BTTB is so special. It is such a comfortable, feel good watch. It was a rewarding journey and I feel SO SATISFIED, like so satisfied. Xianxia is famous for throwing our emotions into the cleaner, but BTTB is like the healthy boyfriend we get after a string of traumatic ones, the warm cup of chocolate under the blanket after coming home from the rain. The story reminds me of the early 2000s Xianxia by Huge, Liu Yi Fei, Yangmi and the likes. A hero goes on a journey, make friends along the way and save the world. I love how every side stories have been tied up nicely, we got an answer for almost everything. I love how good and normal both FL and ML are. Both of them are kind, sincere and reasonable person and not frustrating. Except for ep 16, they mostly communicate well and so endearing toward one another. This is going to go "repeat watch" list.
Let's be honest, that TY is not that smart. How could you not shatter Su Ying into a million pieces?!? I was already…
I was thinking he might not be strong enough. The move that pinned her down was actually SY's own move that TY redirected. I think even with HPS, TY still hasn't have all his parts. So if SY wasn't depleted of all her cultivation at the time, she would have put up a much better fight.
This FL is a lot smarter than the FL from Maid's Revenge.
agreed.. watching her is less suffocating than FL from MR. But to be fair, FL from MR was also more naive because she was sheltered right up to her family murder. This one had two extra years to grow from the calamity and trained herself up.
That whole arc was unreal for me. First, I can't reconcile with how he could fall for a woman like SY. She might…
I would believe it because TY pre-SY seem quite naive. He's powerful and adored by everyone. It's easy for him to be oblivious of the cruelty of the world.
True. When I watch the first episode, didn't realize TY was suppose to be all that powerful. Now everyone say…
I'm rewatching the first episode. He got stab once, stuck in a formation, got stab again because he was still in shock. Then he summon his Fang Sword and broke through the formation and start fighting her. Beside the two stabs, he still got all his power. He then engaged in a 1 on 1 combat with Suying and lost pretty quickly. There's no mention that there's a formation, except the one he broke through. So I concluded the stab must have been vital. To the point he gave up so early and took out the heart to threw it away (to protect it from falling into her hands).
Can't wait for the wedding scene tomorrow. Not that I'm trying to compare, but TY in episode 23 kept making me curious about the TY when he met SY. He's such a soft, romantic guy. Twenty years ago, he must also be quite naive and trusting as well. I wonder if he had felt this same way about SY years ago as well, and she probably had a much easier time winning his heart. Only our YH had to suffered so much. Weird take but I felt a bit jealous for YH sakes.
isn't it a bit irrealistic the SY could kill TY in the show?He was suposed to be super powerfull and the only…
True. When I watch the first episode, didn't realize TY was suppose to be all that powerful. Now everyone say he's the leader of the spirits world and the dragon king. I think they skimmed out on the first battle with Suying here. She only stabbed him twice and he could barely fight her. Unless the first two stabs were at vital points and the sword were laced with some kind of spell. Otherwise it's hard to imagine he goes down so quickly with just 2 stabs when he still has all his body parts.
TY is very good looking but his soft, loving face when the nuptial agreement was written just made me melt. And his words~ oh my~ if only we all have a TY in our life.
