Her heart was not chilled - like I said - because she didn't blame SQR all that much. She didn't make it clear he has no chance because she DID want to give him a chance? Because to her, this is two different SQR. This one didn't betray her, so she exploring what-ifs. She probably miss his companion. And the person he could be if it wasn't for his family's annihilations.
LR actually empathized with SQR a lot and think they are the same type of people. So she empathized with him wanting revenge. Yes it was done at her expense but she isn't angry WITH him. It's odd but at the same time understandable given the circumstances. She probably blame herself because her brother did this, and she had a hand in him gaining power.
I can’t understand her feelings at this moment. She was falling in love with PWX until she misunderstood his…
It's because she didn't blame SQR that much because she half expected his betrayal. When PWX asked if she didn't consider the possibility, she admitted that she did.
With PWX, they only spent 3 years as a happy couple. With SQR she spent 17 years with him, in what she considered probably her darkest and down-trodden time. It's after her father, mother, brother and husband had betrayed her.
With PWX - I think it's hard for LR to love him right back because they have separated for 17 years, and literally HATE each other the entire time. Secondly, I think LR deep down hold a grudge toward PWX that she didn't realize. She met him at 18 and fell in love at first sight. And yet she found out he loved some one else. With him, she probably had girlish fantasy of romance, so not only did it hurt that he didn't love him, she felt somewhat pathetic that she stole a man from another woman. So out of pride, whatever love she have for him must have been fossilized. And she lived her last 17 years with her heart locked up.
With SQR - I don't think she love him at all, but rather it's his companion that she probably misses. Now she believe that this SQR has no reason to betray her, she probably think about what-ifs. And because she understand his motive, she doesn't blame him or even angry with him. With PWX - even if he said he didn't love QZZ - the time period for that explanation has been long gone. She had MOVED ON, in her past life.
In order for LR to love PWX this time - not only does she have to unlock her old love, she has to learn to love him again. The girlish LR of yesteryears is gone. And because she hated him for so long, it is hard for her to entrust her heart to him again. Yes - PWX is honest but LR don't trust him on his words anymore. Remember the 2nd episode - when PWX talk to her - all she can think about is the time she trusted his words and fell for him the first time. She believe he can sweet-talk her into anything and is not willing to do it again.
So in conclusion with SQR - she longing for the memories. For PWX - she can only convince her with actions, which he is doing a fantastic job. PWX confessing to LR about not loving QZZ is a little too late, but it helps a little bit, it's not enough for LR to suddenly open her heart to him.
Who sent the word, "Stop" as a warning? SRQ or Consort Rou?
I'm not saying he's using Consort Rou to hurt the noble families. He's using her as a target for the noble families. BIG differences.
Yes he may use Consort Rou to get rid of PWX or he can lay a trap. We'll see. He still have to manage to sidestep his family's calamity, so his plate is full for now.
Thats the problem is they should have made ML have a lover the reason some people are angry is because even after…
Him being a simp in the 2nd life is a separate matter. Are we watching the same show? What housewife goes on a death mission to gather evidence? What housewife defend their husband in court? ML still have the same ambition.
He literally said that he wishes for a court/society where people are reward for their work and not who they know. That's why he's working with the princess to bring that to reality, because he share the same view. They are working together.
ML is doing so much, and yet people think he lacks ambition? In what way? Is a man only ambitious if he does big gesture or yapping away? Can a man know his real motive, and move in silence? He know his strength and weaknesses, and he lean into it. His strength is his wife's position. His weakness is his weak societal position.
People are thinking so linear, that if a man isn't in the front, he isn't working toward something.
As for the FL, if the situation is switched, then I would support the ML too. Let's be real, there are so many of these period dramas where the ML would get a concubine and people defend him saying it's because it's due to the time period. So I don't think it's a stretch. People are losing their mind because they are used to a man having another wife, but not a wife having a lover. They are used to the ML being the king/prince or higher officers, not the FL being in that position. It causing a lot of cognitive dissonance here.
Who sent the word, "Stop" as a warning? SRQ or Consort Rou?
Yes - but we don't have evidence to deduce it's SQR because the move is quite desperate and dumb. SQR will support Consort Rou because he's aware of her ambition in making her son the next King. So he will use her to become the next target for the noble families, so they take the heat off LR who they consider their main target now.
Not too sure if we are watching the same drama or people just not reading the subtitle. In previous life, both PWX and LR are already separated after the QZZ incident. LR said that we are no longer married and ask for a divorce. PWX said divorce is not favorable BUT they will live their lives separately and is a couple IN NAME ONLY. It was literally episode 3, please go watch it again. If both adults agreed that they are no longer a couple, then what ethical argument are we having here? Both are literally on the same page.
In modern time, we have the same term, it's called being separated. Since both people are no longer together, it is not consider cheating for LR to have another lover. She wanted a divorce, but PWX don't want to sign it, either out of pride, or power, or whatever. That marriage is already OVER. PWX can have another lover or even get a concubine, he just chose not to. And if he does, it is not consider cheating either.
Whether or not it's because SQR is castrated or not, it doesn't matter.
Did you know that LR actually cheated on ML in their previous life openly .So think of it from the ML's point…
She did not cheat? They are already separated that mean they no longer in a relationship. It happened after the QZZ incident, and and didn't PWX said he don't care not to see LR again?
He worked and schemed to became a powerful PM for his wife. He was following his father's advice to became THE…
Nah I disagree with you HARD. PWX can support his wife AND get his power. It's NOT an either/or situation. He neither given up nor has he given her FULL control. His speech in this episode just meant that he will approach it differently this time because he understand her and himself better. Here's why.
First - In both life, PWX got the prime minister position because he work WITH the princess to help the CP get his throne. This is the best way for him to become Prime Minister, and he's still doing that. So he have not given up power nor CONTROL. HE's the one that pushes the Inspectorate Office idea. He literally pushes her hand by telling it to the Crown Prince. HE's the one that got things move along. Yes - he gave her a choice, but HE was partially in control of the narrative. Although we see the Princess doing this and that, both those are decisions they both talked and agreed on most of the time.
Secondly - his speech just meant that he SEE things a bit differently this time. In previous life, PWX is not as willing to be forthcoming with his feeling to the Princess. With the QZZ incident, he didn't explain himself CLEARLY, like he did now (the rain scene). This extend as their relationship deteriorate, as they both no longer trust each other. He also has a chip on his shoulder about her being the one in power (the prison scene). So by admitting his love for her, he felt like he admit to loving power via her.
In this life he understand two things he didn't before. Unlike his dad who believe that protection meant doing everything yourself and keeping your loved one from harsh truth, he's more open with the princess on his thoughts and feeling, and he give her a CHOICE. Like the scene where he gave his mother a choice. And now he gave the princess a choice. Due to this open communication, they both can understand each other about their true intention for power. In the past, they thought the worst of each other, but now they understand that they both want the same thing.
The second thing he learnt is to be OKAY with his wife having the power. His unwillingness to admit he love her previously may have stemmed from his ego being hurt that she's the one with power in relationship and in court, or that it's obvious to everyone and himself that he got his position via her no matter how talented he is. So it was his silent protest in his heart to not admit to loving her to keep his pride. But in this life, he is OKAY with it now. That it's okay to have an ambitious wife, and that it take NOTHING FROM him, and only add to their relationship. That's why he said he's willing to support her in getting everything she desires.
The main cause of deterioration between them in the past was this 2 points. It gave others an opportunity to come between them and caused them to fight each other. PWX thoroughly understand it this time so he's closing in on that gap. I commended him on his insight and he's really the bigger man here than the Princess, who still have not able to see all her blind spots. But slowly he's making her see it.
In this life, by aligning with the Princess both in heart and mind, he's actually make himself stronger and more powerful than the past, because together as a team, no one can take them down. So I said, he's doing pretty well.
That princes-splaining scene at the Pei house is so satisfying. I love how childishly forward the ML have become. And I love that sharp contrast between the current him who go for the princess compare to the old him who coward away. So far we see how both princess and PWX have chose to live their life differently, except for SRQ.
I know people don't like this character, but I kinda love him? He appeared so refined, elegant and soft, but you can sense this sick vibe bubbling underneath. That's why we feel so unsettled when he's on screen. His styling is ON POINT for the character he's playing. I think he's the type of 2ML character who will become a villain once rejected.
I don't think SRQ is delusional for wanting to be with the princess if he didn't know she also traveled back. But funny how PWX and the princess knew right away, yet SRQ couldn't tell when it come the princess. It tells you how much he DON'T know the princess despite being with her for over a decade. But remember how PWX told the princess that she's also very blinded and stubborn when it come to her perception of people? So in return, the princess don't really know SRQ like she thought. And watching preview 16-17, I think she finally realize this fact. She like the idea of SRQ or who he pretended to be. Their time together, despite long, lacked depth because it was filled with fakery. PWX on the other hand, read the princess like an open book. He know her better than she know herself. Isn't that you call "soulmate"?
I think that all those scenes of SRQ pining over the princess is not for romance - but it supposed to support his villain act later on. (Im just guessing, I haven't read the book yet). SRQ definitely will try his best to help his family avoid the calamity they faced in the past life. And that is why him and the princess will be on opposite side.

It's sad but the mother is like glasshouse flower. She never grew a spine because she never have to dealt with tough time. Her husband shielded her, then her son. But princess brought up a good point. Was she ever given a choice? And if she does, how will she step up? I think she did step up a little bit (given that this is new to her) in ep. 15. I think over time, she will eventually grow
I kinda love seeing SRQ scenes pining over the princess. I love seeing him in pain and suffering, but having to blast a smile on his face. I know how much that must hurt and he deserve it 100x because of what he's done.
I thought that was an extremely petty move by ML (I loved it). IMO SML gave himself away as coming back in that…
This is my guess. There are probably 3 reasons. 1. PWX mentioned his family's issue which Su knew about. PWX doesn't get along with his extended family so he doesn't have any peer male relative to come and greet the princess OR if they do, they would embarrass him, which in turn would also embarass the princess. Su probably accepted to spare the princess from embarrassment. 2. PWX mentioned that this is only a "transaction" for them, but that's from PWX POV. Su might wanted to see the princess' reaction seeing him that day, so he can gauge the princess's feeling toward him. 3. This may be far-fetched but maybe he just also want to see the 18yo princess in her wedding gown. In their previous life, they weren't close at this time so maybe he never paid much attention. But this time, he probably wanted to see how she looks. Much like how PWX said he showed up to the banquet because he wanted to see the 18 year old princess again.
I had some doubts but this episode really solidified it for me that Su also time travelled like both our leads. In the past, he didn't care for the princess but this time, he showed up unannounced. And out of no where, really into the princess. I felt it was weird. But now we know. I think in their original timeline, he killed the princess for his family revenge, but also deeply loved her. So he died right after she died. Because after her death, life hold no more meaning.
I watched 8 episodes so far, and poor sunjae suffered so much for so many years, he could have lived a wonderful…
The FL love him in her actions. How she traveled back and desperately do anything to save him. I think the drama is doing a fine job of not depicting her love as a fan love because it waits until she realizes he's the one that rescue her. It make sense that she "love" him because his words touched her and gave her the will to live - but she also realize that was fan love as she didn't know him personally. After spending so much time with him, and recovered the memories she lost of him, she realizes that he has always been there for her. That's when she starting to let herself develop real, personal romance for him because she had always put him on this pedestal, out of touch place. His confession is not the beginning of her love, but rather, it gave her hope that her feeling is not misplaced or delusions - THAT she can love him. Remember her reaction when she realize he like her? She said "wow, how can this amazing be interest in ME? ME?"
In my opinion, this is a very respectful perspective that the drama did for the Sol character. That her love is not based on fan love, but based on shared memories of each other, and the genuine care they have for one another. That Sol didn't push on Sunjae and try to make him hers romantically, until she realize that he have feeling for her too.
