I think it's the way the FL is written lol... I've said this before, but up till ep. 6 (and even then she is drunk), it's always Hase who forcefully initiates sex and she always tried to refuse or get out of it but he just ignores her and goes ahead anyways...

Jdramas always get low ratings. I would recommend checking comments and reviews + checking first few episodes to see if you would like the drama. Anyways, the first episode of Boku Satsui was really fun, I'm excited for the next one.

I mean, at that point, it's a matter of opinion. Based on available sources, there's no hint of coercion or manipulation. Obviously, he's a much older man - that's quite predatory and unethical already. However, it is still two consenting adults choosing to commit infidelity out of their own volition.
As to your second point, that's literally what we are all saying. Higashide also deserves to lose his career, it's not either/or. Both of them should face consequences and the fact that she was the only one who was punished by industry just shows how systemic sexism is in Japanese society.
finally, an article for jdramas!! Renai Mangaka wasn't a groundbreaker or a masterpiece, but it was so much fun and I looked forward to it every week :)
