You know you guys can still date even if Hae-kang doesn't win the competition or whatever? Like Se-yoon has the right to turn down the other dude, she isn't beholden to him at all... Idk I like their chemistry and puppy love but I find this kinda cringey. There's nothing stopping them from going out, the competition is a silly obstacle.
First few episodes were okay but this drama is slowly losing steam. Imo the main badminton concept isn't handled well and isn't that interesting but the slice of life aspects involving the village people are the more engaging parts... but they get little screentime because it *is* a badminton drama.
Honestly I'm bored by the badminton stuff plotlines and more moved by the stories of the village people. Ik it's called Racket Boys but imo the badminton stories are not handled in an interesting way.
While I didn't like how they resolved the family's conflict with the mom, this special was very well executed overall and I liked how it handled LGBT and gender issues. I just wish it was longer. 9/10.
This drama is an underrated gem; at first I didn't want to give it a try because I'm not into the subject matter but Shiraishi Sei and Sakurai Yuki being the leads convinced me to watch this. I'm glad that they did because not only was their acting amazing but the story was something else. Not only did it explore the positive and darker sides of idol culture, particularly relevant as Kpop expands ever further and parasocial relationships are almost a norm, but the underlying mystery, crime and suspense aspects are simple but effective. All in all, "My Favorite Member" is a fantastic drama I would 100% recommend watching! 10/10... Sunny Side Up Forever!!
You should give the 2020 version a try, it's really good imo
