a really chill, relaxing, healing, and wholesome movie. it's very gentle and kind, perfect to watch after a rough day or when you're feeling down. nothing much happens in terms of plot, it's a light slice of life with a good message. Mone was so cute in this too.
Just watched the Mystery Iunakare movie!! I honestly really liked it. A lot of twists and macguffins so I was…
I was literally thinking, wow, Shiori really needs therapy. she literally tried to kill her cousins and everyone just seemed to get over it. and then, at the end, even Kudo was like, "ma'am, get yo ass to therapy"
I thought the story would end with them giving their money to the real descendants as reparations... but ah well, it's the thought that counts.
Just watched the Mystery Iunakare movie!! I honestly really liked it. A lot of twists and macguffins so I was a bit overwhelmed at times, but wow the story was so fun and engaging as usual. Totonou continues to be adorable as always. the OST was also so good 🥺 10/10
Ok, so I had a whole angry paragraph typed out initially but I deleted it bc by the end of episode 8... I actually kind of liked the story? And the acting? And ML's character? Like, I'm sad this isn't the stress free romcom I was expecting, but it kinda works as a melo / healing kinda drama imo.
I was genuinely impressed by the ML's acting in EP. 8, especially scenes in the rain, the funeral, reading the letter, standing up to Evil Grandpa, etc. the direction, music, the cinematography was also quite inspired imo.
Other notes: 1) Why is the ajumma/ajusshi romance kinda sweet? 2) when I'm in a "get involved in someone's business" competition and my opponent is Hong-do 3) how is the webtoon guy the better Kim sibling? Look at him respecting Yoon-ah's choice (somewhat) 4) This is just a cult. An evil, evil cult and Joseon Grandpa is the Devil. And they want me to laugh along with Joseon Grandpa's goofy ass hijinks with Frenchaboo lady?? OFC, it's not out of the question that there's someone behind Evil Grandpa, someone who forced him into doing these things... 5) Also, legally speaking, can an evil grandpa keep a mom from seeing her kids?
"Seongsan Village-related weirdness" counter: 6 + 3 + Some random aristo gets to order around the minister of a democratically elected government like the latter's his serf + Some random inbred toff and his bodyguard get to participate in a police investigation and sometimes even lead it?? + Cute ajumma apparently could have met her son any point in Seoul... But chose not to. + speaking of, she kind of... Stayed with her employer instead of going with her son? The one cast out into the modern world? What is it with the moms in this drama?
this was amazing! funny, interesting and the music was so good. I also loved all the diversity and representation we got in this drama. thanks to SkewedTranslations for subbing this.
