EP. 5: "that's not where your mouth is" bro had to guide her food for her ππ
So, obviously ML will forgive his sister and mom bc of Terminal Illness and/or BC Joseon Grandpa forced them out. Imo, it's okay for ppl to not forgive family members who hurt them but alas. Kdrama writers have different ideas...
Damn, Camille Aunty really slaying frfr
Look, her reactions are funny - especially with the hand sliding down the door for some reason?? - but I was kinda uncomfortable. She doesn't know it but I know that's his sister ππ
Mmm, so in the past, this poor boy was her slave and got slapped for "seducing" her... Is that why he was thrown out? And now she's an undercover cop trying to bring him down? Talk about having no shame ... And jfc, I hate this Joseon Grandpa more and more... I was already anti-aristocracy and anti-feudalism, but each episode is radicalizing me. Imma start a Jacobin club in Seongsan village at some point frfr
Like, stealing and selling antiquities is bad, but if restaurant boy is the culprit... I'm afraid I'm on his side, mostly bc I side with underdogs and against n*bles.
Oh yeah, the romance. Yeah, it's cute but idk I wasn't feeling sold on it this episode. Hopefully it picks up tomorrow.
I think I'm mostly sticking with this drama BC of the FL. She's the carrying this thru her cuteness. She was so real when she clawing at the bus window in despair, with the sad pop song playing... She just like me frfr
Special mention also goes to Yoon-ah. That crushed, sad puppy "yeee~~" was also adorable. I'm kinda rooting for her and the brother?
Ki-baek's deep ass voice and Kang Han-na's dimples are supporting cast members for this drama frfr
When I'm in a "being kind, understanding and supportive" competition and my opponent is Ki-baek.
I feel like there might be legal? ethical? considerations for putting in a writer for the variety show, but lawyer eonni signed off on it so I think we're all good
They're supposed to be playing the game but Ki-baek's just staring at her and lighting up when Woo-joo is happy ππ₯Ί
I didn't like the reveal with the kid. First, because it was so obvious. And what's wrong with a love interest being a single mom, guys? π€¨ Ki-baek I expected better from you at least... **
Do you think the lady who plays the first love... Like, that actress, do you think she looks at the script and goes, "aww man, not again? I went to acting school to play devious ex gf #24 ? :/"
The mom definitely kimchi-slapped her, right? Oh, nvm, Jeong-heon being kinda scummy as always
**I'm sorry I ever doubted you muscle boy
Ofc Woo-jo chose her ex over Ki-baek. Cause ~drama~
Remember when this was a drama about a guy who cannot lie? Now it's a dating show crossed with a makjang...
That time skip was definitely something. But hey at least the variety show arc is over - I liked it at first, but it overstayed it's welcome imo - and I'm happy to see where this drama goes nextm ALSO THAT KISS WAS EVERYTHING. So nice of Woo-joo and Ki-baek to invent romance.
The dating arc is gonna be something else. He's gonna be flirting every sec because of no filter.
"no lady covers their face in this day and age, you've watch too many period drama" dawg, you're the gatekeeper for a village that reinstituted the Joseon caste system. Tf you yapping about
A guy in a hanbok clutching baguettes shouldn't be so funny. Also what is this meet cute ππ
Yeah, sure, stereotypical SFL but wow Se-ryoung has a cool voice. too bad she's stuck in a weird Joseon LARP cult, she'd make a great audiobook narrator. Or start a podcast, queen ππΎππΎ you can talk about the tradwife lifestyle or whatever the poor women in this cursed village like to talk about
This FL has such pretty eyes! Like the ML from When the Weather is Fine. Also her outfits always slaayy
Yeah, that's his noona for sure. If I'm right, they're crazy for that spicy ass previews πͺ±π₯
I really like that Ki-baek has three possible love interests, not by being conventionally attractive or "cool", but just by being kind. He's not flashy or loud about it (except for the crowd scene*), he just quietly helps anyone he sees having a hard time, even when's he preoccupied with something else. It's really wholesome. Like, it would not even occur to me to hold the branches away so they don't hit the person behind, for instance.
* He doesn't even like Jeong-heon that much! But he saw what the man was going through and still helped him, despite the risk of humiliation or getting beat up.
Ep. 2: I was worried she'd just be a pushover again, >!but the way she set up the ex and her awful boss at the restaurant was so badass but in a realistic way.!< Go off, queen. More of this energy please.
I'm gonna keep it real, could not care less about the stolen antiquities stuff. Can we get back to the romcom? Also where did his pretty bodyguard go?
THERE SHE IS!!! >!I just knew there was gonna be a love line with the brother lmao, wasn't expecting him to be the damsel in distress "Do not lose confidence just cause you weak asf"!< *cue romantic music* Amazing, this is cinema.
If only this lady reserved some of the grisly threats and physical violence for her workplace bullies π
Ik what cops are like, but why is a Joseon LARPer doing all the detective work ππ
It's not a kdrama if there's no>! tragically dead parent.!<
So like... Did they resurrect Joseon feudalism in this weird ass village? Like the caste system and slavery and all?
... So they did. They did in fact resurrect the caste system. >!Wtf is that storyline with the hot chef guy? I'm guessing he was a servant like his mom and blamed for everything that went wrong with the girl.!<
This FL is so cute π₯Ίπ₯Ί>! she was so surprised when he prostrated, she did it too ππ "I'm not gonna let anyone walk over me" famous last words. Yeah, I'm just gonna skip ahead. Don't want to see this poor lady get humiliated any further.!<
Well, I really liked these episodes except for all the workplace bullying. Hope that ends anytime soon ππΎππΎ
Ladies, if your first love confession doesn't work, simply keep repeating it in different languages. Eventually your crush will run out of languages to say "no" in... and that's how you WIN
Not the waitress calling out the proposal as too aggressive π
Quirky Confucian boy STUNS evil foreign barbarians with ADVANCED combat skills
... Which is all very cool, but why that detective kinda.... The Son Suk-ku patented scruffy beard look π₯π₯
I'm a nerd obsessed with history but even I think these guys are taking it too far. Why is bro having conniptions over the most chaste club wear I've ever seen ππ also me thinks this isn't the first time pretty bodyguard lady snuck into a club ππ
My face went red and steam billowed forth from my ears, like I was a Tom & Jerry character. Look at this mf gaslighting her, so disgusting...
Sis became the Joker.
This drama is so unserious, what's with the Vine sound effects?? ππ Also that's the THIRD time she's slipped and fallen into his arms
Imagine trying to drunkenly undress your former student because your boyfriend was two timing with your boss.

But the angst in the preview makes me anxious...
