you know, I've just noticed but I've never seen an earthquake in a native Japanese drama or movie. not even a baby earthquake, despite how common seismic activity is in Japan. is it a taboo, due to the 2011 earthquake? or is it so commonplace it's not worth depicting it?

that's what I'm saying!! her acting - and the acting in jdramas - is not even the OTT! idk why ppl criticize jdramas so much... if it's a manga adaptation or straight comedy, yeah, there's some over acting but most Japanese content has a perfectly naturalistic style.

I'm seeing a lot of kdrama stans criticize the FL and the over-the-top acting/comedy... When essentially, ELY is Japanese creators paying homage to the kdramas they love. I didn't even notice all the kdrama tropes until this Reddit comment pointed it out:

"Comments from non-Jdrama watchers regarding Eye Love You always give me a laugh. I don't think they realize how much of it reflects tropes that people in Japan often associate with Kdramas. The wishy washy female lead, the pushy male lead that's given a pass because he's cute, the love triangle being rounded out by a male best friend that's always been secretly in love with her... all classic Kdrama tropes."

they spent so much effort into getting a Korean actor, they forgot to spend time on the writing 💀 but idk I'm enjoying it but it's not my fav or something I look forward to, if you know what I mean?

yeah, I'm saying none of your criticisms are applicable ONLY to jdramas. there are many jdramas, and not all of them are like this. whatever cringe or silly FLs you do find in jdramas can also be found in Korean stuff. I mean, have you seen the FL in Behind Your Touch? the over the top comedy on Waikiki?

Netflix is driving me crazy. wdym y'all are dropping the rest of the episodes in 4 weeks?? why can't we jdrama fans have one episode each week like kdramas?? it's not like we're asking for two episodes per day like cdramas 😭😭💀💀
