Plus, I like that she isn’t portrayed as a straight-up villain. She grew up poor and insecure, always feeling like the last choice, and that shaped the decisions she made. It doesn’t excuse what she did, but I appreciate that the drama gives its flawed characters a human side instead of simply making them evil.
Finally, after finishing Splendid Match, I’ve been struggling to find an on-air drama to replace it… and Road to Splendor seems to be it! I love that the family affairs don’t involve cartoonish villains, but rather people driven by self-interest, circumstance, and a matriarchal grandmother who will do anything to protect the family’s reputation. The family politics are surprisingly dark and heavy, but not tropey.
Can’t wait to see Yoo Seung Ho land better casting opportunities. I have a feeling his special appearance in Flex x Cop Season 2 will finally open new doors for him. He truly deserves it.

He has so much untapped potential that has gone unnoticed for years. It’s frustrating to see actors with far less range continue to land project after project, while someone with his talent is still waiting for the role that reminds everyone just how good he can be.
I am at ep 8. I like the whole premise - strong fl, seeemingly weak ml but is secretly smart but at ep 8 nothing is happening… when does it get more fun?
How about the first jasmine? I have not watched it but suspect it is overhyped
How about the chemistry and acting? I could endure a mediocre plot as long as actors can portray their character well. From the summary i feel like both leads should have a lot of opportunities to showcase their acting.
