First 5 mins of ep 1 were not necessary but also for me it was a little bit cranky. I just could not figure why…
I used to like Kim So Hyun in some of her previous main roles ( The tale of Nokdu , The emperor owner od the mask). I wish I could get more attached with her new character here as Pyeong Gang . Sadly I can't.
Maybe you're right and they should just give them a little more screen time so we can know better the leads.
It's a 20 ep drama and still the writers are in such a hurry.

On River Where the Moon Rises Feb 16, 2021
After watching 2 Episodes the Positives I found was :
- Expensive production, nice locations , good looking costumes

The Negatives were far more :

-The first 5 mins of the 1rst ep give away all the plot of the drama until the very end lol
- The 2 main leads don't seem very convincing to me (especially the male lead's acting , the female actress is good ). Maybe the roles are badly written
-The plot quickly gets draggy
-I don't see any likable side characters at all.
That's my personal opinion only. I really wanted to like it since I watch every historical out there but in the end ...I couldn't like it at all. I hope everyone else is enjoying. :)

Title Beyond Evil
This drama is rated 18+ so it will be dark huh
Omg yeah I just noticed that now that you pointed it out :0
Normally K-dramas are 15+ and contain a lot of "dark content", murders, mental health issues, psychopathic killers and brutal crime scenes.
What extra a 18+ rated can have ?! lol
I guess only sex scenes can make it an 18+
(it just says violence and profanity though)

someone tell me why chinese drama airing dates are so shet
Yeah indeed!
For example in K-Dramas we know 3-4 months ahead, the exact release date . Why the heck C-Dramas are so problematic on this aspect :'(

I feel you xDWhen I heard that Zhang Zi Yi was the one who chose Zhou Yi Wei for the role of Xiao Qi I immediately…
Yes it has perfect cinematography, expensive sets and costumes , talented actors , a very well script that never makes you feel bored. I've no words for this drama. It's pure art. I read that it cost more than 100m $ US dollars.

This girl here is all of ushttps://skullsandwineglasses.tumblr.com/post/642893514371399680/you-know-what-gets-me-zhou-yi-wei-and-hisBut…
I feel you xD
When I heard that Zhang Zi Yi was the one who chose Zhou Yi Wei for the role of Xiao Qi I immediately thought that they might were a real couple in their personal lives. ( and their chemistry is crazy so I kept thinking that maybe those two were lovers or something).
Later I read that at the time "The rebel princess" was filming Zhou Yi Wei had just married his wife. Then I felt soooo bad for shipping him with ZiYi. I felt like an evil person :/
ZiYi was also married and with children ....
They are probably just good friends and my obsession for Xiao Qi and Awu made me imagine things haha !
I've watched countless dramas (most of them historicals) and I've NEVER seen before a male lead as well-written as Xiao Qi is. He's such a rightful man and a loving husband. I swear his character is gonna make me "unable" to pick up a partner in my real life. Xiao Qi "put the bar so high" and I'll never gonna find someone half as good as him lol.
(I'm 26 by the way and the damn K/C - Dramas effect my standards in real life lol )

So you came to vent, poor dude, you're so full of it that you can't speak properly...
Don't "feed the trolls" my friend. He just needs attention desperately. That's why he says bitter things , without ever explaining the reasoning behind them.

'Hold your horses guys' because the Historical dramas "Novoland pearl eclipse" with Yang Mi and "Ancient love poetry" with Xue Kai were scheduled to launch on February and suddenly both got postponed.

Oh please not Allen Ren.
I don't like it when he leads fantasy/ romance/Xianxias.
I prefer it when he sticks to normal historicals (politics, wuxias etc).
But that's my personal opinion only so ....no offence...

That's why we should never trust Chinese dramas airdates!! It can only be trusted if it comes out for real.
Yeah. I can't describe how sad I was when I realized that it got postponed until November (almost). I was expecting it on February for a long time :(

On L.U.C.A.: The Beginning Feb 2, 2021
POSITIVES:
First 2 EP were visually stunning with great special effects and well executed action scenes. It literally feels like a high budget action/fantasy movie.

What I dislike:
- I don't like the script , (it's dull in my opinion because it only involves chasings all over the place without any further progression to the actual story).
-I find the acting not so convincing (or maybe the main characters are badly written and it's not the actual fault of the 2 main actors )

I'll keep watching though. I hope it'll improve on later episodes. :)
These are just my personal thoughts. I hope everyone else is enjoying.

It's a dark Korean version of X-Men.
Nice 1rst ep but except the cinematography, I wasn't too impressed. Very good CGI and well executed action scenes but the plot and the acting didn't convince me at all.
I'll keep watching though. The script might get better , who knows :)

I liked Alice tho haha it wasn't that bad no? XD
I feel you. Alice turned to be not that good. Or maybe I was expecting much more that I should xD
Also fantasy is not enough for a drama to be good. It also need a nice script so it can make some sense.

Title L.U.C.A.: The Beginning Spoiler
looking at the teasers, i think there might be hints of romance
Yeah I guess you're right. There is a scene were he tries to save her.
I think it'll have small hints like "The Memorist", for example.
It's ok as long as the plot is intriguing, makes sense and is full of suspense. Just some romance hints are enough for me :)
