The Road to Success

Just how far would you go to get ahead? Once there, just how far would you go to stay there? The title of this drama describes it perfectly. It is neither light-hearted nor romantic, but a study of human ambition. To some, career and social status are everything, so much so that you lose your moral compass and are quite willing to do so.

Cast: 10
Each member of the cast fit his or her character and carried their role perfectly. As I go forward, I'm going to have a hard time separating the artist from his or her role. There is a female lead (Withu) and a male lead (So), but to classify one as a hero or heroine is beyond the pale. There was one or two characters I hoped to see get their "happily ever after" - you'll have to watch the drama & decide for yourself.

Music: 9.5
OST was unique & beautiful. I never skipped the opening credits, just so I could hear the song. But it was the only music I noticed throughout the drama.

Rewatch Value: 7.5
I watched Tawan Tok Din as it was airing and spent each week in anticipation. I am rewatching it now so I can experience it without interruption.

Overall: 8
I thoroughly enjoyed this drama, but I did find it rather depressing. It makes me wonder if I had it to do over again - would I take the high road or the low road?

NOTE: Some of the characters spent most of their time in bed (but not their own).
