Fantastic review! ❤ Thanks for writing it down as a summary as well, to help us viewers who dropped this drama early on still able to follow the actual happenings in the story.
I tried my best till ep 12...I cannot this drama. Dropping it finally. Never thought I would do this to JCW. But…
Maybe you should post this comment as a drama review, and tag it as dropped. You mention about no major event was following the cryonic experiment which is true and that's a good observation others haven't really mentioned anywhere.
The ending and the built up to that ending are incredibly lackluster, wow. It's also literally the most rushed/flat ending I've seen anywhere. Like it was a happy ending but I really didn't share their happiness? This is meant to be a fantasy tag, but at least the theme is still sci-fi yet it screams lazy writing through and through. It's like the writers are not even sure about what to do or how to expand the basic storyline properly/logically.
I'm very picky with the dramas I watch so this can straight up goes into my list of some of the worst screenwriting I have seen in kdramaland, LOL. To be honest, I felt the same when I watched SWDBS from the same writer a while back though it was definitely much more entertaining, plus the chemistry there worked big time. Sorry not sorry for this one.
If any of you who watched/dropped this have watched Memories of the Alhambra, please let me know if that one has good screenwriting. I am just curious if sci-fi has been done successfully elsewhere, thanks.
Indeed. Agree completely with your review. What a letdown. The comedy are slapstick and many of the side characters are annoying and doesn't contribute anything useful to the main story.
