They break up around episode 7 and the reason is they grew distant because Liang Shuang was always busy and I guess they got less time to build their relationship. Somehow the boyfriend got a gig and it was to take quit some time so he initiated the break up. I think he decided not to compromise anymore and just go on and do what makes him happy just like how Liang Shuang was happy in her job

Now you’ve said it it is indeed shounen ai with a low tone in sex scenes. She practically just brushed past them. I first read SVSSS and parts of MDZS and I was expecting for TGCF to be the same but I was surprised it was so decent from A-Z and even the kiss scenes were written to loook so lovely instead of erotic.I do hope they spare it and just let the story flow as it is. Remove the kiss scenes and TGCF is a kids novel.
