I can't be sure and need to read an interview if there is any, but from actress point of view, there two things that could interest her: - The script is good. I could find some flaws, but it's deep about character, psychology, and well made about details, metaphors and puzzle (way to convey information to let you understand by yourself). - It's a great challenge to act two different characters, and I guess they will have both lot of change during the drama, what is even more complicated.
I remember the actress for the famous comedy "Mr. Queen", what was also quite challenging because she first interprets a man in her, then the character change personnality gradually or at times.
Until now, I find Dear Hyeri nice to watch on air, because there is mystery, theory building from audience, or just a lot of points to guess, to understand. You can see here, sometimes we dig a lot about characters and psychology. It's a drama deep enough to talk about it from a week to the other.
After some reading, DID patients' alters that are based on real people in their lives are known as introjections.…
Interesting. Without much knowledge about DID, I just see it like that with general psychological one. Eun Ho is a single person, so the Hyeri in her is Eun Ho creation. Is it Introjection? Now, how Eun Ho created (not consciously) this other personnality: From memory of what was Hyeri, from the vision she had of her, but it's still Eun Ho. Hyeri is a missing part of Eun Ho. When Eun Ho got the trauma (Hyeri death probably), she obliterated a part of herself, making her an incomplete being. And this part of her is in Hyeri split-personnality. What's mysterious is Hyeri was like dead inside Eun Ho, and she's waking up now and need to grow.
I will say this just Once to whoever it may concern. This drama is nowhere similar to whatever the sh!t My Demon…
A bit early to say it, it's better in some points, but worst for other points. Then, the main problem of "My Demon" was mostly after episode 6 when it becomes an ultra boring sleepy drama.
I even posted an episode 2 live watching. But now, I consider it even outdated on some points. My brain had time to work more and understand points I couldn't then. Still some good insight. Well, I'm not humble to say that. But anyway, it's some work and you could read points you didn't see while watching. I could also study a bit symbolism used, in a later post.
No need to be angry. I just see that as script needs. Goal of fridge scene is to force Eun Ho to call Hyeon O.…
Something strange about the situation is how she gets the time to get drunk? Eun Ho goes to the truck, it's not far away. Then she's stuck in it but call as soon as she can. So in short, Min Young gets dead drunk in 10 minutes? Or she was drunk before Eun Ho goes to the truck. Really, she could put the other co-worker on that.
Also, I noticed what I call a plot-hole plaster: in the fridge, Eun Ho could call the co-worker instead of Min Young. But as it would destroy the goal of the scene, she has a monologue saying "oh I don't have the other people numbers". What plasters the plot-hole. But when you do that, it's a bit visible. This scene contains double plot forcing! Even Triple if you count the fact there must be a body, so she hides, so the docker closes the fridge and she can't escape.
It's the kind of thing you rant about when you don't like the drama, but don't care when you like it. Just amusing about storytelling tricks.π
EPISODE 03 - p5. Starts with flashabck 5 years before. Previous one at start of ep2 was 6 years. It's a bit spy fantasy now, as Soo Ho is tracked by a secret service. AND is secret agent, training ground.
Nothing says when flashback ends, but we get it with the dialog in the bath. Yeo Joo spyied by secret service because she's a dangerous woman. But why? How? Just a hint: it's related to her book "secret prayer". Secret service chief has a scary face, and looks like the villain of the drama, lol!
A previous scene, Jin Ok opens the fridge, like there is something scary. We don't see what. Just Hyo Joo did the same and we didn't see. And now Jin Ok is about to say what to Woo Sung, but stop and doesn't. Here, it's playing with our nerves. ^^
More nerves breaking: the cops fail to stop the security chief to leave, so they will watch the camera only tomorrow. I bet everything will be erased during the night.
I like the various obstacles: he want to tell her he's going into politic but NO: If he would do, she want divorce. Note at this point, he even didn't revealed it yet. But I'm sure she guess everything, it's why she says that. Next he will try to speak about that during resto scene. I like this kind of comedy, not invasive and subtle, from situation and characters.
Soo Ho is pissed off to watch such a lovely couple. He's attracted by Yeo Joo? Or he would like be in a couple too?
- p6 Series of fun suspens scene: first the security chief yells at Woo Sung. Just for an authograph. As doors of the elevators close, last moment, the two cops enters.! π
Before Beak appartement, with the cop and Hyo Joo: Insert a small montage where she blames the police.
Soo Ho opens the fridge... again we don't see. Ayyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!! And.... it was book!
He lies too when he want a woman quit him. lol!I maybe post on main comment per episode?
I redid Ep2 comment. I still use p3 or pX for the half parts, it helps me to track with my ep numbers. But for now I haven't completed p4. As you are ahead, maybe you want to open comments for further episodes, then use spoilers. Then you can remove "spoiler" later.
EPISODE 02 - p3 (I will complete). Flashback 6 years ago. She's so rude!! Throws the engagement ring like shit. I think the are a nice couple however because there is complementarity: He, always warm and smiling, her always cold and poker-face.
"Now, I love you enough to kill you".
Huh? Baek Soo Jung disappear? Like she could be killed? She's Support Role, is she really gone now?
Introduction of cops: Se Jin π₯° Seung Cheol (Lee Si Eun aka Soo-Bong). Looking for Soo Jung case.
Soo Ho goes to work for Yeo Joo. Should be some comedy about how she's rude with assistants. But no, or not now.
- p4 While Woo Sung meets a fatale female student. Woo! π As background music, I like this one starting with piano with a feeling of: "fatal attraction, the guy is doomed and now could cheat again". It's not fair to introduce him such a pretty young woman!
He tries to dodge her, but she runs after him. Malediction! I forgot this crazy subplot: Soo Ho looking super rich and spying hard on her.
Lawyer Park in the street, he's drunk. He's a cad with women, but they are just angry that he quits them. This is a relatable situation about sexy and enjoyable men.
Jin Ho is faithful and cheats "only with his eyes". Nice irony as it's his wife who ran after him. While Woo Sung ran after his wife and he's the cheater.
Something strange about kimchi pellets that Yeo Joo eat since age of 6. Her mood darkens because she did something... Jin Ok seems to not be her mother but the family servant.
Many short scenes and cuts with little mystery or to make us think that maybe a character could be involved in something sinister. Yeo Joo mostly. Blood behind the fridge but she stops Jin Ok to open it. The writer is nicely playing with us and control wisely the given information.
@WE, I can only post here under comments but not under the review link that you set up .
It's more easy to post than on BOD, because it's possible to edit messages, or put in spoiler, and there is a tree in answers. Also, we can copy-paste text. As it's removed on BOD for reasons we know, it's ok here, as it's a very casual discussion.

Anyone can comment here. You can answer my comments. Or you can post a new comment at the root, in the zone above (just under the review). You can also edit a message.
I think the assistant do worst because he reads it in secret.
I wonder if he plans to change camp.
I could enjoy watching until episode 6, but after it's a fall to nothingness.

I forgot too how it starts, but the scene jumped to me as soon as I watched.
I'm using the 32 episodes format (half hour ep), and you?
