Just want to point out at the beginning of episode 27, scene start with them, horse galloping across the shallow river was a nice touch, displaying the natural landscape and really nice cinematography, setting the mood for the next arc of the story/romance. Its the type of shot I often see they do in Outlander so very well done. ππ
Another wonderful episode today allowing us to see a fresh new perspective to XZ and CY relationship. XZ formally reintroducing himself and proposing to CY, then after learning now she is accepted under the same master as him (being his disciple junior sister), the sparring by the lake, and XZ heartfelt wordsπ₯°... I really like how this drama paces itself and we can literally feel how they are maturing especially CY. Nothing feel draggy
Srsly XZ so whipped for CY. He got all mesmerized staring at her so he looks away for a few seconds to breathe, calm himself, then turn back, glance at her and got hook all over again. XDDDπ₯°π₯°
OMG, I'm addicted hard with this drama. Every shot and angle, every romantic encounters (even the toxic one with big baddies) to the fight scenes. Costumes, hairstyle, cinematography to OSTs. Story and characters struck you at the right chord. Why do I feel its so perfect? This is no longer a drama, its art.
It really does give me that Where Winds Meet vibe too. Looking forward to every episode because none of episode has been boring thus far.
I said this before that first 6 episodes was awkward and uncomfortable for me because FL often put herself in these really embarrassing situations and ML cold attitude/rejections surely did not help. I was on the verge of dropping this drama.
BUT after episode 7 onward, we start to see a completely different side to the FL (and this particular side really breaks the ice lol), thats when they explain more about the FL's childhood trauma. It got interesting from there as ML (and us audience) finally understands her inner struggle and this barrier between them started coming down. Everything she did after that, including all her clumsy and awkward behavior naturally somehow became adorable. I wish they had done this earlier on in the drama.
Though I guess at the end of the day, maybe this drama is trying to teach us that what we don't understand always seem awkward at first but if we take the time and courage to learn, it might not be so bad as we initially assumed. This applies to anything in life.
I dont know, im getting second-hand embarrassed so many times for the FL here. Kinda awkward that she got rejected and busted so many times yet still seek ML out. I'm slowly trying to finish this drama, but its not very swoon worthy. Fukushi Sota is cute though.
I really hope by the end of this drama, FL becomes mentally stronger and break free from her psychological issues.
Man, the last bunch of episodes was unnecessarily heavy and angsty for no apparent reason? FL really got annoyingly stuffy and I rarely say this about any FL before. Hard for me to finish watching
I'll give Zhuang Xu some merit that at least he is not as shameless, infuriating, hair pulling annoying as Kim…
Well, it was enjoyable and the main leads was cute but the screentime with SML really did take away some. IMO tropey, nothing scream refreshing but its a fun romantic, comedy to kill time. Not the serious heartthrobing romance like this drama. Maybe thats why SML character is so over the top. Lol If you like Jung So Min from Alchemy of Souls though (or just to see how bad SML is), can give it a try. XD
I'm thinking back to how SML gave her interest when she gave him money for the surgery, it's a very ugly thing…
That is true. Its always been about his pride. If he had accepted her then, he was afraid people will say hes dating someone above his station and if he had outright rejected her, its like he lost out on one of the best girl out there (and he knows FL is probably one of the best thing that could ever happen to him, whether its her personality, looks, background or money). Thats why hes always been silent and ambiguous, stringing her along waiting for some stupid opportunity to prove his worth to make himself look better accepting her. But I doubt he will ever be satisfied however way it went because hes too self-conscious and self-centered. He ends up gaslighting and shifting blames on to people who made him feel inferior.
Honestly if he was smarter and more scheming, he would've kept all those negative comments he says to her to himself and acted better towards her and protect her when she needed, then he might've had a chance. Too bad he is so insensitive to the fact that no girl, even someone who likes you, can stand being with a toxic man. Its like every time he opens his mouth to talk to her, we see the (-π) minus sign indicating decreasing relationship points (like in the sims game) on XG's head. π Hes the best example of how to get a girl to stop liking you. lmao
it's kind of triggering everytime Zhang Xu shows up on my screen. he reminds me of these participants from dating…
I'll give Zhuang Xu some merit that at least he is not as shameless, infuriating, hair pulling annoying as Kim U Ju (FL's ex fiance) in "Would You Marry Me?" that I finished watching recently. That character might've been one of the worst SML in all of dramaland π
Damn, I understand and don't understand this at the same time. Never seen a story timeline more confusing than this. I should continue watching, hopefully it will make more sense to me later on
Very proud of our FL for standing up to him and explaining all the ways his excuses are wrong π‘
Totally. Even if they had gotten together, they wouldve broken up due to his inferiority complex anyway. Love how she sums it up that she would end up with Yu Sen no matter what. It was never an option; girl knows what type of man she wants and definitely not another type like her dad.
I love the song sung by Zhuang Xu at karaoke, original by Jeff Chang called Faith δΏ‘δ»° if anyone wondering. Man, he totally butchered the meaning of the song though. The song is touching but ZX is not, so I don't pity him. Can't believe he still push the blame on Xi Guang calling her unfair even after all that.π€¦ββοΈ Dude was seriously self-centered and now finally got his reality-check.
This drama almost went unnotice on my radar for some reason. The one and only time I remember watching a drama with this actress was LOCH 2014. The trailer looks interesting and me sensing great chemistry with the cp. It seems she often does well in older female/younger male romance. I will definitely be giving it a try.
It's his first love. His family didn't like the mistress, so they basically pulled them apart based on what was…
From what I gather, FL's dad told FL he won't remarried as he is just taking care of a terminally ill friend and theres nothing between them. But as FL pointed out, what kind of friend is terminally ill for so long and hasn't hit the coffin yet? lol Based on the most recent episode, this sick friend of his don't seem ill at all and is just scheming no good with her daughter to take advantage of FL's dad. I wouldn't be surprised if she was the one who purposely cause the misunderstanding leading to her parents' divorce.
The actor who plays Jiang Rui you guys probably recognize him as the child actor in many previous dramas, most notably Joy of Life. Crazy hes so tall now and developing such a sharp look. I think we can look forward to him being in his own drama in the next few years

Honestly, still nothing beats the Monkey King in sheer number of adaptions on a yearly basis. π
