Blabber mouth friends and people jealous of her. Greed is unbound, including our FL's. She wants it all without any thought to the cost. Her only ray of hope is ML and he is away right now.

You forgot dependent. He is dependent on his parents. He could grow a pair and walk away. He puts up with their nonsense and by default is just as bad as they are because he does nothing. Turning a blind eye to their corruption and misguided deeds.
