They are just 16-18 years, so I don’t expect all the couples to be mature. When I was that age, I can assure…
We know that not all teenagers are mature. They make mistakes and don't know what they want. However, they're expected to learn from said mistakes. KimMon are 17 soon 18, they're not 12. From ep3 we've been presented with KimMon's relationship issue aka lack of communication due to Kim's insecurities. Of course, teenagers in fiction should be allow to be immature and make mistakes but from a narrative perspective, it's not great writing nor is it interesting for readers/viewers to have the characters make the same mistake again and again.
You can write "realistic "teenager experience without having them going in circles. Take KitShane for example. We saw their characters development and as a result their relationship evolved beautifully. They're so different yet they learned to listen and understand each other, they confide in each other (their fears, their dreams...). KimMon ? They're static because the writing for them is minimal. Their whole storyline revolves around Kim not expressing himself in order to please Mon. Kim's issue is that he wants to be loved and fear rejection/conflicts. They got together too soon but I thought ok they're very different, let's see how they get to know each other, they're gonna face challenges and decide if they're a good fit. But we got the same issue every episode, with a quick resolution, smiles and cuddles. Rinse and repeat.
For every episode I can think of another way their interaction could have gone: - Mon had a girlfriend before : Kim learns about it, tells Mon he thought Mon was gay, asks him if he's experimenting. Cue to an important conversation about bisexuality/pansexuality. A learning moment for Kim and young viewers. - Mon wants to cancel the sport day : Kim learns about it, asks Mon why he wants to cancel this fun day, tells Mon he's selfish, they argue and get to debate against each other. At the end, they acknowledge it's ok to disagree but they should be respectful of each other. - Kim got accepted at Chiang Mai uni : Kim tells Mon they should break up cause long distance relationship are doomed, Mon disagree and makes him see they should give it a try And so on. In all these examples, Kim's actions are also motived by his insecurities. He still needs reassurance. However, he's learnt to express himself. He doesn't lie (much), doesn't avoid conflicts. He progresses as a character and in turn KimMon's relationship evolves too.
Cause he thinks it's better to be there and get all the info they need. Since he's strong, he thinks he can break out anytime he wants. The guy doesn't fear death.
Once again a missed opportunity to have a serious KimMon conversation. I wanted Mon to say he wants a long distance relationship but he fears they're not gonna last because of Kim's inability to communicate his feelings and his tendency to lie to avoid conflicts. It's nice they resolve their issues quickly but it's tiresome to be in a relationship with someone unsecure like Kim. The writing really didn't let KimMon progress, they kept repeating the same pattern every episode.
This episode wasn't as good as the last two. They got together pretty abruptly. There was no build up in this…
- 5 episodes of build up that led to sex. I wouldn't call that abrupt. Don't know what more they can do. - Jealousy and confession while arguing is pretty cliché. The MCs talked calmly about their feelings and admitted they wanted to try again. It's refreshing to see characters act maturely instead of going for overused dramatic scenes. - In next episode trailer, you can hear Phi say he knows why Tam left. I guess he was pissed and felt betrayed because Tam didn't tell him what was going on at that time. But now, he just want Tam to confess so they can have an open talk and fully mend their relationship.
I'm enjoying this series -- a lot -- but this week's episodes were a little slow and boring.
This week episodes were slow but not boring. It was less manipulation and more open feelings. It's very much needed to connect the MLs and deepen their feelings.
12 episodes is too long for this series. It's quite boring now. I've lost interest in KimMon cause their relationship is still superficial, they got issues but resolved them too quickly. For example, in this episode, when Kim said he was afraid Mon was "experimenting" because he's in a boys school, I thought Mon would say "no, I'm not experimenting, I've always like girls and boys". It would have been an interesting discussion about bisexuality. But no, they quickly glossed over Kim's insecurity by having them play bowling, laugh and cuddle. Like it's their default mode in every episode... Also, why don't they kiss like a normal couple ? KitShane had several kisses so what's the problem with KimMon ?
PoddPapang are wasted. They started good but now we don't see them enough and their romance progresses off screen. Them living together that quick isn't believable.
Such a good episode! My favorite I think. The way Sorn was all sweet and playful, I would have folded just like Jun. Boat is too pretty! I love that Sorn finally admitted he has been in love with Jun years before they even start their fwb affair (IIRC the novel, he gave him the shoes a year before the koi pond garden). I also like the fact that despite being heartbroken and trying to win Jun back, Sorn stayed the same shit he is : annoying, jealous and still blaming everyone and their mother for his fuck up. Very consistent writting lol.
I like the production aspects, looks really good, and the actors are great (first time seen them) but the plot…
Come on, read the page summary or ask questions before assuming. This is Y-Destiny sequel. We know the characters and the couple's dynamics. Watch the prequel, you'll appreciate Suntiny better.
I'm loving it! I'm usually very critical but one thing I will never judge is originality, offering something new to the game. Suntiny is fresh, camp, funny and yet delivers a powerful message that few bls dare to : - verse couples exist - sexual preferences aren't defined by physical appearances - sexual preferences aren't set in a relationship (they can change and people should be free to explore). As usual Maxnat are delivering the chemistry and they def improve their acting every series they get. I love them.
I like this series. I can def see they're falling in love with each other. For Yo, they've shown it since ep 4 I believe : heart racing, staring at Jom, being interested in Jom's work, understanding Jom's values... But it's more subtle with Jom : he spends a lot of time with Yo, he seeks his presence, he likes to tease him, he's affectionate with him. I feel like he's giving special treatment to Yo. As Jom is older, the village chief and Yo's guardian, it would be quite problematic for this grown man with power to be interested in a younger guy in his care too quickly. I like that they're not forcing it, they're letting feelings set in slowly and realistically. They're depicting three stages of their relationship : from guardian/protege to friends and then lovers. I'm not a huge fan of slow burn but I totally get it for MSJ. I understand people are getting bored now cause they want to see them together, but I don't think it's the main point of the story. For me MSJ is about Yo maturing in a new environment and stepping up to show Jom he can count on him; and for Jom it's admitting that Yo isn't a kid and he's free to love him. Mind you, I haven't read the novel, so it's all my interpretation.
This is exactly what's lacking Thai BLs, "GOOD WRITING"! It's only 30mins eps but feels like so much more. Great…
"Ouin ouin thai bls". Forgetting there were and still are good thai bls out there. Why the need to always drag thai bls to compliment other bls ? Yet, you all still watch thai bls😒😒.
I’m struggling to follow “Sorn Math.”If he has a trauma about the age gap due to what happened with the…
Since the event with his ex, Sorn swore he'd never be interested in someone younger. But a couple years later he met Jun and they spend every summer together with Thai and Champ (until he disappeared). He developed a crush on Jun during these summers spent together bickering (4 summers IIRC). He doesn't want to love him but he's lusting on him like crazy. That's why he couldn't resist temptation when he saw Jun in the koi pond garden. And years later, he wasn't thinking clearly when he made the deal of being Jun's sex teacher lol. Jun is one of the reason he came back in Bangkok to work with Thai. He can't stay away from him.

Lol, come on. I love SE but let's not do that. What dialogue and scenes are identical to SE ? Which scenes reference SE ? In what way the main characters act like the ML in SE ? They're so obviously different you've been doing gymnastic to come up with your lie.
"The story doesn't exist and the characters are made of cardboard", yet you continue it to see Sorn suffers ?…
I wasn't expecting praises but you just trashed the series. I mean, you could have said MS has flaws while giving constructive criticism. That happens, sometimes a series isn't great but you still appreciate it. But that's not what you said. You literally said MS has no redeeming quality. That's what surprised me. I wasn't telling you to drop the series. I hate people who use the "don't like it, don't watch it" argument. As someone very critical of what I watch, I love to give my pov for series I'm invested in, even when they're not great. But I don't spend more than 3 to 4 episodes on series that have nothing to offer. I just drop them. So, I can't understand why someone would keep watching something that bad ,that don't even meet their expectation. I guess people process things differently.
