ahh i still watch clips of this series, my grandparents cp is still the best ❤️ dylan's and zhou ye's face are just raw beauty here, no unnecessary filter + their acting here is truly excellent for such rookie actors at the time. i hope they work together again.

i've actually been admiring zy's skills ever since i first watched her but he yan is the first multifaceted character she played and i feel like lotfg is that drama that showcases her talent the most (excluding her movie roles) especially on microexpressions/eye work. it made me feel that her skills had significantly improved from the last time i've seen her on screen 🥰

yes! i love love love scent of time! for me, everything in that drama is absolute perfection despite being an obvious low budget drama. in fact, having watched a lot of dramas, that is the only chinese drama that made me rate it at full score (and there is currently just four of them in my list).

i read somewhere that there's lot of modifications made since the novel is not that good (?) but yeah this is what i like about her, too. she has a really good character selection. we might see her as a businesswoman by end of the year (hello, 1983).

xu kai zhou ye drama will likely air 2026/2027 if it pass smoothly. looking forward to it as well but inner courtyard battles do ticks me off lol and this one is emotionally heavy.

is the plot not good? or the animation? it seems that this is targeted for male audience. although i find that it is not as steady as expected compared to sword rose (dilireba) which has also been airing in multiple platforms.

tbf they did darken zhou ye's + only draws her men eyebrows. she is mostly bare-faced when in men's clothings. they even said in an interview that the male characters here did a full on makeup but not her. zhou ye's face card is just that lethal after all this 🤧

i agree tho that the part wherein she disguises as a dancer is off, i haven't replayed yet if her makeup there is delicate.

yes, i do wish she dubbed her own voice 'cause it feels like she had been adjusting her tone to neutral. she has better understanding of the character after all. for example, in this brief video, you can hear that her command is not shouted loudly but rather focused and somewhat restrained as he yan is currently injured.

maybe it's the exposure effect. some of us were used to hearing the dubbed voice of this voice actress for zhou ye that it starts to feel like it's making it seem close to the original voice of zhou ye 🤣
