if we're talking about the novel, sure they change how some scenes are presented, some made stronger and some downplayed but i can say that the essence of the novel is there and the drama is trying to retain most of the core points of the novel. the author said so herself that this is more of the heroine's growth and healing and lighthearted compared to her other previous novels.

i read this years ago haha so maybe that’s why i'm not so quick to notice the changes. i mostly remember the iconic characters and scenes.

i commented on this before — that novel readers should be the first to understand and empathise with why he yan seemingly acts so carefree outside the battlefield. she is serious when she needs to be (as we all witness), but this woman is also living for the first time as herself. some passages in the drama also make it clear that this isn’t a revenge-focused story; there aren’t even any tags suggesting that so idk why some viewers here didn’t pick that up.
