they all have confirmed cheating/affair scandal except for tang wei (which was banned because of a controversial role she played). the career of these men recovered while those of women derailed. only tang wei, among the actresses i mentioned, has a career comeback but she still disappeared a few years before that and hers is a political scandal and not personal.

not, if they have done something illegal (or blacklisted) but for mild moral or private controversies? actors can still strive and easily come back to limelight after a while compared to their actresses' counterparts. davis yan, chen he, wen zhang, chen sicheng? compare them to li xiaolu, tang wei or yao di who is still struggling or struggled longer to return. maybe it's much better now as netizens has been pushing against gender-based double standards in c-ent but it doesn't change that actresses do face harsher public judgment for personal scandals while actors are afforded more “forgiveness”.

the screenwriters (and editors) of this drama should really kowtow to the actors who basically carried this drama. the actors don't have much traffic tbh and relies on the acting and chemistry as well as the fight scenes to attract passersby. i understand that the fight scenes are expensive but then, i saw an interview that they've filmed a lot but was not shown in the final cut. anyway, idol dramas are like this, and most screenwriters is yet to innovate despite how obvious the decline in market is which is not good, as actors' fans alone cannot sustain a drama (as proven with the data of currently airing ones).

despite the black drafts in the early stage, this drama atleast persevered and achieved good results. it's not perfect but glad that the broadcast went smoothly and its success acknowledged by the platforms. wishing all the actors to have good scripts and teams for their upcoming projects👏🎉

this is not an s+ drama, this is a small s budget drama which had achieved s+ broadcasting effect. zhou ye is doing well enough as he yan. while there are others who may criticise he yan's action and character in the drama, zhou ye is atleast being recognised for her character portrayal and acting in mainland china. besides, zhou ye is the only casting widely accepted by novel fans even before the official announcement. there is already black hot search on the drama just upon airing yet no one questioned her for being the female lead. no one's cutting her some slack, even cctv is showing support for her character portrayal because she's doing well as is. this is based on facts and data, not personal feelings.

i know, i thought before that hesong just don't want to overwork her but it seems that her company is simply just laxing. she is considered a rookie monster from debut but had a hiatus for years. poor time management and wasting her prime youth. tho given zy's personality, she probably will still stay 😭

is it because there are two screenwriters? some scenes don’t seem to be executed well and come across as rather random. i'm impressed with the acting, chemistry, and direction (especially the martial arts, action and foreshadowing) — everything feels superb at times, but also falls flat at times. anw, just my thoughts and it does keep me on the hooks and obsessed 🤣
