this censorship, i can only cry 😭 but for general star tbh i quite prefer that this has no rebirth, i also turned off my brain reading that he yan somehow trained this sickly lady's body to be on par with her past life's. besides, at least she will be able to take back everything with her original body in this drama. it's been years since i've read this novel so maybe that's why i'm not very particular on the changes.

on point! that novel was also already sold right and i saw some funny comments on douyin that said "don't cry, books fans. it's too late to give up qsck's novel now, you have more things to cry about later." 🤣 i am a novel reader too and would be happy if the novels i like get adapted. i already learned to separate novels from dramas and long accepted that most can only be depicted through my imagination. there are lots of extreme chinese novel fans without this mindset tho.

i read some posts (most likely fans) say that the script really highlighted the female lead scenes on this one. although the novel cannot be adapted text by text, the modifications are said to be reasonable and visualise the female lead much stronger. let's see how this will turn out 🤩

bftb is a full on visual feast + chemistry bomb imo. it's a happy ending, the love triangle part is not highly emotional and actually done funny. this series is an easy watch, there are heavy parts but all throughout lighthearted.

hmm i'm not quite sure for the others but personally, i think she's an actress with good diversity and character selection. it's a bonus that she's also beautiful (considered one of the top of her generation if not the top in china). she actually debuted as an antagonist in a movie which made her popular in china but then had a 3 year (?) hiatus. recently, she also had an almost a year hiatus as she's practicing ballet for a new drama.

oh and if you don't want to fully commit in a drama series, you can also watch her movie "Yesterday Once More" which is conveniently available in youtube

scent of time, it's a low budget drama but still my current fave of hers (first historical drama i did not do a fast forward while watching). back from the brink is good, too and much popular among her works. for modern, you can try love me love my voice or everyone loves me. these are a hit or miss among viewers. LMLMV is actually a comfort drama for me, it's sweet all throughout and have been rewatching while i like her on ELM for being a spunky female lead.

ohh yeaa i do like zhou ye's voice and line delivery, was hoping she dubbed her own here but i guess professionals know what's best

ZY is getting better, this is actually her first S+ drama. It's a big deal for CL as well 'cause this is his first male lead drama (not including his short ones). Both are rising stars.
