Underrated drama imo.

If you're like me who likes an MC who starts out weak with a mysterious background and has a selfless, sacrificing demeanor, then this drama hits the spot.

Probably has one of the sweetest 2nd FL love story I've seen. Janice Wu did a wonderful job as Bai Luo; fierce and unyielding toward anyone who causes her and her companions trouble.

She was in love with 2nd ML first until he broke her heart. Then her time with ML changed everything.

All 3 main males fall for FL.

2nd FL in with ML.

Didn't feel draggy i fast forward most of the boring scenes (especially that queen). Plus only 29 eps.

If i understand angst correctly, then yeah, multiple occasions (but not done well).

I recently finished season 1 and 2.

I started reading the english translation where Guili gets introduced. Going to see where the book will take me.

It's been 3-4 years since season 1/2 were created, so I highly doubt the 3 main cast will come back since they're too popular now lol

Oh wow. That's heartbreaking but would make better sense for xiaofan to be able to move on instead of the synopsis of this drama.

Going to go reflect on these emotions for a bit now.

Not sure wth the author of the book was thinking... all the things xiao fan and biyao went through and xiaofan realizes he was just nice to her?

Planning to read the book. Do you know if xiao fan and xueqi had much more in depth interactions in the book compared to the drama? Because there wasn't much in the drama...

Then again... can't really expect a semi-xianxia author to focus on romance considering how illogical the romance turned out to be.

Oh? Nude scenes in the book? Do you remember any example? I started reading the book but at the part where Biyao sacrificed herself to save Xiao Fan.

Heavenly Sword Dragon Sabre. Most recent adaptation is 2019.

Main character in both stories are like a reflection of each other lol.

Although the 2nd female love interest in noble aspirations is much better imo.
While 1st female lead I would vote for the one in heavenly sword dragon sabre.

MLs character is a good one throughout story; from what appears to be weak lad to a stronger character as he progresses.

Dang. Gotta admit. The background story of Senior Master Wan is heartbreaking during the reveal.

Biggest annoyance: treacherous characters get to live far, far too long -- especially the the spies/traitors.

My goodness that is so strange. Biyao and him went through life and death together multiple times but they don't end up together? That's twisted.

I agree. His beginning character is good to watch too. You can feel his emotions and empathize with him.

It's rewarding to watch him grow and mature.

Not worth watching.

Writing is terribly poor -- even the 90s drama writing had more sense than this. Every 4 episodes was about someone trying to pull the noble act of cold shoulder to save their lover. The lover ends up getting hurt because self-fulfilling prophecy. Rinse and repeat 6 times -- that's most of the 29 eps. C'mon man. Gets old quick. Get ready to roll your eyes if you decide to watch.

And JFC, chen ruo xuan played the stupidest, annoying character in this drama AND in Eagle Flag.

She was one of my favs.

Writers trying to be dark and edgy like game of thrones but failed.

My god. So my hope of asule and xiaozhou being together in the book was wishful thinking to begin with....

Princess Xiazhou was one of the best characters in the drama. Her ending was terribly stupid though.

Yeah, that was infuriating to watch. It would have been better if they couldn't be together because of death. But the reasons they choked up with were just a slap to the audience's face.
