I found the format unusual as it seemed highly obvious that five separate stories were stitched together. One caveat about this drama, the screeching/crying that emitted from the FL was intolerable.
Complete camp! If you take it lightly, it’s a fun romp. Woo Hoo!
I thought I would soon tire of his shtick, but I never did! Fiction Guo has two more historical dramas coming up and in both, he’s described as arrogant. sounds like he may be typecasted already!
Just like love, lust can be blind as well.I understand why people don't like this show. It's not lovey dovey,…
I don’t see him as being manipulative. He’s been clear on what he is about, and what he wants. She’s the one who has been following him. She’s the one who kissed him. She is not naive. She has heard her friend loud and clear and witnessed his behaviour. She is not going into this blind. She shut him down three times when he tried to kiss her. He says at the beginning that it was so unusual to click with someone right off the bat. He does see her differently. He tells the others to get lost or make them wait. In the preview he asks why they cannot be close but not date? Both don’t know what to do with each other, are trying to make the other fit into what their idea of love is. They have to make the choice of valuing what they have without labeling it or moving on to something or someone more conventional, but lacking the powerful connection. Are they both settling, or being true to themselves? I think both parties will suffer. Get your kleenex box ready!
According to Netflix life: Without a doubt this series starring Song Kang and Han So-hee as art school students refusing to define their relationship as a romance will steal hearts.
There’s nothing like a love story between two characters who won’t give in to love and yet, nevertheless, are falling more and more for each other as time goes on. It’s a recipe for a smitten audience waiting for them both to let go, let love, and take the plunge.
The official synopsis via Netflix: The intoxicating charm of a flirtatious art school classmate pulls a reluctant love cynic into a friends-with-benefits relationship. To dig a little deeper, Park Jae-eon (Song Kang) is the flirtatious one. He’s happy seeing someone with no expectations or feelings blossoming. Love isn’t in the equation for him. It’s Yoo Na-bi (Han So-hee) whose heart was broken before. Refusing to be bitten by the love bug twice, she wants to date, but she, too, has no interest in romance.
Of course, the two form a connection that challenges the very notion of their opinions on love. The dance they do around one another looks and feels exactly like a budding romance. However, if they don’t call it that, then it can be whatever they want it to be. Or so they think.
He is only capable of being vulnerable in bed. He likely cannot out of bed. That can be completely terrifying for some people. So he’s asking her to accept him as he is. He does care for her. But she needs to be loved in a way he cannot offer. This is all too sad really. There’s a line in one of the OST songs about him being used to getting used. There may be something of a clue in that.
I was delighted to see Yu Kai Ning and Huang Qian Shuo cast together once again! Although they did not have much interaction with each other I was happy with both their performances. Except having to wait for HQS to smile until episode 12 was sheer torture! YKS made the most of his comedic chops as Doc My Sa. A memorable character, for certain. And HQS stretched himself in a more serious role as the Head Guard. And he got the girl! I hope to see more of my favourite duo in the future. Enjoyed the tight storyline peppered with hilarity. Check these two out in The Romance of Hua Rong to see them shine even more brightly!
