super cute j-drama

this was such a good j-drama! it's a new favorite and I'll be re watching in the future <3
- the humor in this is just spot on and the to main leads did amazing with the script. this is 100% my kind of humor but I think anyone would like it
- FL and ML visuals were spot
- really handled the topic of suicide and death well. they give a good perspective I think people can relate to. it's not super dark.
- the love story didn't feel creepy. you could tell they both care for each other.

Highly anticipated for a reason

when I first heard they were adapting Unintentional Love story into a drama I was so excited but worried it wouldn't deliver. Thank goodness I was wrong. anyways loved this great show and great actors. Will definitely rewatch here's my general thoughts

- I think casting was good on this as the chemistry between the leads was wonderful. I also love Cha Seowon as Taejoon, he really brought manhwa taejoon to life for me
- the hugs were so soft and I love it
- pacing was good. even though some things happened fast you can tell the tried to spread the whole in show timeline to be a few months to a year so it makes sense.
- The biggest problem I had was that certain things felt fast due to the runtime of the show. I also felt the 2nd couple could have been more developed if they had more time. there's a lot of stuff in the manhway they just left out because it would take to long and I feel like that took away from the show. However, if you're watching this without the manhwa in mind then 10/10.
- overall this is one of my new favorite shows and I'll definitely be rewatching!!

One of the Best Korean BLs yet.

Listen. I knew it was coming but damn I didn't want this show to end.

First, I saw someone say this in another review and I can't agree more: Korean BLs have so much potential. This show is just one example. I'm so excited to see what will be adapted and created next.

Links 'n info.
This was adapted from the ongoing Korean Manhwa Semantic Error that was written by Jeosuri and illustrated by Angy.
- You can read the official English translations of the webtoon here, https://manta.net/episodes/4778 on Manta Comics. This is the only official site for English translations.
- I think you can read the original Korean manhwa on Ridibooks.
- English translations of the novel are available on the Sleepy Translations site here, https://sleepytranslations.com/series/semantic-error/.
- Ridibooks, the publisher of this novel, has set up an IG (https://www.instagram.com/jaeyoung_j_/) and Twitter (https://twitter.com/jaeyoung_j_) account for Jaeyoung, the ML.
- There's also an anime somewhere online.

Characters ‘n relationships.
I will say it a million times: Park SeoHam and Park JaeChan are PERFECT for their roles. Seriously. I could not have asked for a better Sangwoo and Jaeyoung. Their chemistry, their dynamics, and their character development was great. All of the little moments between them and the actions they did make sense. Everything had reasoning behind it and you could tell the two leads understood their character.

I have emotional feelings for Yuna. The bisexual (or pan, they didn't specify) representation had me crying. That women made my day and was the highlight of the episode. Also, Jihye- she's so cool. Her character was never that annoying side girl in a BL, she was like a side love interest but became a total bro.

Plot 'n pacing.
The pacing of this was so good. KBLs are notoriously short and that can sometimes make the plot and romance feel rushed but this show was completely different. Everything made sense. The pacing of the relationship between the two leads never felt rushed or uncomfortable, it was gradual and worked great with the 20-30min episodes. There was a good balance of plot, cute romance, and platonic friends hanging out scenes.

Dislikes + Why 9/10 rating?
I don't have very many dislikes for this show. This is up there on my top Korean BLs list now. They gave me everything I wanted and more. However, there are two things I felt was not so great:
1. I can see the comparison of the manhwa to the tv show being a problem for people. I don't have any issues with it but this has already been talked about a bit so it's understandable.
2. The beginning was a little sketch tbh. The stalking and insane amount of shit Jaeyoung did to annoy Sangwoo was honestly creepy. It never felt malicious, like he would actually hurt him but still. This only lasted 1-2 episodes so it wasn't that bad but It was not my favorite.
Other than that, certain moments felt repetitive and cliché at times but not to bad.

TL;DR: Watch it!! It's a great Korean BL! Definitely recommend watching if you're looking for a college, arts-y, and funny BL. Also, worth it to rewatch!!

CONTENT WARNINGS: Some stalking and light violence. On screen kisses but no sexual content.

Cute and fluffy with some spice

I'm kind of all over the place with my thoughts on this series, but right now it's a solid 8. I was originally skeptical to watch this because I don't really like the idea of a body swap, but it actually turned out to be really cute and funny. They thew in some spice and it took a couple of unexpected turns, but overall not bad. I didn't expect too much (there wasn't that much hype) so I was really surprised!

STORY:
I didn't love the story (yes because of the whole body-swap thing) BUT the characters were amazing. The characters each had different personalities and realistic character flaws that really hit my emotions. There were so many twists and turns that I was kept on edge.

ACTING:
Probably the best part of the show. First, Ohm, and Fluke did an amazing job with these characters and I am honestly such a fan of Ohm now. These guys, and the rest of the cast, had me in tears so often. I work with actors all the time (I work in theatre and the arts, so I'm around actors A LOT) and most of the time I just straight up see past everything and take actors as, well, actors... and not characters (it totally kills some tv shows and movies for me) but I got so into the story and acting that I wasn't looking at ohm or fluke as an actor but as the actual character and it just had me hooked on the show.

MUSIC;
The OST was beautiful. y'all can disagree all you want but they knew when to play the sad music and when to play the happy music and I was in tears.

ENDING:
Definitely bittersweet and, again, unexpected. I like how it ended, though it just made the show feel kind of...extra? I don't really know how to put it but there's a whole moral lesson that went along with it, but the ending had me questioning the whole point of everything that had happened before. Overall, I like it and was happy with how it ended.

OVERALL, It's good. Ignore the fact that its lowkey not a bl, (but it some ways it was so don't let that throw you off), and if your cool with the hets then you'll be. It's funny, unexpected, and generally just a fluffy series.

amazing until it wasn't

I started this knowing it was either a hit or miss but tbh it was both at the same time. I found myself screaming at the TV one minute and then clapping at how cute the two leads were.

the first EP was a bit confusing and the chemistry wasn't really there until ep2 or 3. I was really rooting for them and found the "villain" arch to be awful. I'd recommend skipping EP 8&9 and just watch then last ~30 minutes of EP 10 if you want to trash the villain stuff.

won't rewatch it again but it had it's moments so take a chance on it if you're looking for a cute jdrama.

surprisingly amazing!

*Trigger Warnings/Content Warnings at end of review!

A mini review for this one because this is definitely going to be one of my new favorite k-dramas. I say "surprisingly" amazing because when I first heard about the premise I was worried that they would misrepresent the autism community. I know some parts were pretty stereotypical and not exactly necessary but I think the representation and good feedback that this show has received so far proves that we are moving in the right direction.

I loved the characters and the plot building. I think the last two episodes were a bit rushed and some parts during the cases were unnecessary but overall it was good. I don't know how to feel about a second season but I'm happy that there are so many good reviews for this one. I looked forward to this show every week as it aired and I think I'll rewatch this one again.
If you're looking for a fun and interesting story that has law themes as well as a healthy relationship this one might be for you.

*TW/CW: This show involves positive messages, positive role models, and diverse representation but also involves difficult topics such as: Violence (domestic violence), suicide (mentions and on-screen), death (on-screen), romance (no sex, only kissing), mild swearing, drinking (generally responsibly), sexual assault (mentions/implied), bullying/harassment (nothing extreme but is mentioned and shown throughout the series), self-harm, and discrimination due to disability.
If any of this makes you uncomfortable please watch with caution.

beautiful

Alright, I have been putting this off for quite a while. I knew about the hype and a lot of people have been saying it's really good so I decided to wait and binge it later. I'm so happy I did. Later turned out to be last night, I couldn't stop watching it and ended up crying at 2:30am because of how beautiful this drama is.

This was phenomenal please watch it., that is all.

I picked this up for the hockey. Hockey has been a big part of my life for years now and when I saw this I was instantly intrigued. Women in hockey rep, cute cheesy romance, with a bunch of cliches thrown in, what could go wrong?

The Good:
-I really enjoyed this simply because of how well the two leads portrayed their characters. Daren and Sebrina did an amazing job with these characters. They made the relationship and romance flow seamlessly.
-Darren Chen: ugh he's great. watch the show for him. He isn't that overbearing ML, he's quirky but cool. Portrayed so well.
-The plot actually worked. I didn't have any issues other than the constant angst/dips in the plot (basically just the 24/7 drama). It wasn't bad but noticeable, I like to be on edge but oof give me a break.

The Not so Good:
- The parts in hockey that were incorrect. I know it's a drama and I think I only noticed this because I play hockey but oof.
- some of the transitions worked but some of them just had me questioning everything (looking at you confession scene)
- The stereotypes and sexism. Give me a show with a girl who can play hockey and not get told that she's too delicate or a h*e for playing on a guys team and I'll be a happy camper. They had a few questionable times that made the feminist in my scream.
- the public humiliation: no.

TW: mentions of r*pe, s*xual assault

When I first heard of this series it was already well into episode 6, so I joined a bit late but I definitely found myself excited for every new episode. Instead of giving a full review, I'll just give some highlights to explain the rating.

Things I did NOT like:
- My biggest issue with this series was that many times it felt like I was watching two completely different dramas. The story between Zon & Saifah and Fighter & tutor was so opposite at times, it was difficult to see how they correlated. This was especially true for episodes in the latter half of the series when we were getting character development.
- I love a good love scene but sometimes it felt forced.
- The "r*pe" scene ( I know they didn't actually do anything and fight stopped but-) I felt this scene was unnecessary and I low-key hate that GMM keeps doing this. This is NEVER okay and I really did not like that they added this just for drama. They could have had a heartfelt dramatic breakup/I-want-you-back scene without this. (sorry, I'm just really frustrated at these types of things)
-The little development with the side relationships. If you're gonna have 'em: go big or go home.

Things I did like:
- Saint and Zee. Their chemistry through this whole show was fantastic. When I was first introduced to this show it was though a video about Zon and Saifah, so for the beginning of the show I was mostly interested in those two but, Tutor and fighter have such a great relationship going that I could equally enjoy both relationships. (I'm not saying that I was watching for one relationship over another, both relationships and the overall story kept me watching.) I could go on and on about saint and zee killing each episode but y'all already know.
- ZEE. wow. I know he didn't have that much experience beforehand but dang you could never tell. He had multiple amazing acting moments but he killed it in episode 12. Him crying- it felt so real.
- I continually found myself looking forward to Friday's because I was so interested in what would happen in each relationship. The actual plot was lacking.
- There were so many just good looking scenes. For example the candlelit dinner on the beach that tor and fight had. A bit unrealistic but absolutely gorgeous.
- showing the struggle of coming out and being out in general + showing the struggle of having a controlling/unsupportive family.

Overall, This series was fun and had good relationships that kept people watching. I understand that they ran into many issues at the end due to the pandemic and I'm happy that they were able to finish strong for the fans. I gave it an 8/10. I would recommend to others.
