"After watching each episode, it's fulfilling, yet you are (extremely) hungry for more. This drama gave me the biggest comfort whenever I feel down. Ironically, the drama itself, is depressing, gloomy, and melancholy. You know how whenever you feel sad you want to see things like rainbows, and puppies, or eat good food in order to make you feel happier, yet none of that truly comforts you; or sometimes it might even irritate someone even more. My Mister is that person that would sit by your side, cry with you, hug you, and allow you to release your emotions so you truly feel comfort. It's not a stress reliever, it's something that makes you embrace those emotions and let you move on from them."
I looked into the screenwritter because I was so touched by her work in My Liberation Notes and funny enough I could find what I felt in MLN on a review for My mister. I will give this kdrama a chance and probably follow more of Ms Park's works. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Although I gave a higher rating to this show, I do see and agree with a lot of the points you made here. I'm glad your review is able to shine a light on parts of the plot and character development that could have benefited from more focus and/or screen time. I'm sure the production team had their reasons for the changes they made from the og source, but that actually gives me motivation to look it up and see another perspective of this story.
Completely agree with this statement "strong doesn't equal to mean or a bully". It saddens me that a lot of creaters feel the need to make a character toxic just to look strong, that's not strenght at all! I was glad to see a main character that was so complete dispite the missing pieces in his life :)
I'm amazed at how well this movie depicted BDSM world as an introduction to non BDSMers, it's such a complex topic and there are still a lot of misconceptions, so it was refreshing to see it being well addressed. I hope that this is both entertaining and also informative, to audiences who aren't interested in taking part on the community, but still wish to have a bit more knowledge.
