Light-hearted piece with a pure puppy love

This is a story about a couple from their teenage time all the way to grown-up working life.

A good choice for people that is looking for a simple and pure story. TBH there wasn't having very spectacular plots, but it was not too bad too! I personally enjoy the first half more which is the part of the high school campus life.

Despite being very young and new in acting, two main actor and actress got pretty good acting skills, with natural interactions and on-point chemistry, making it very enjoyable! Two of them are always together with one another in this drama (unlike other drama where they always argue, breakup etc), and I thought I was going to be bored with their dating story but apparently I don't! Maybe because the love between them are just so pure that you will not get enough with it :)

If you like Reply series and Prison Playbook, you will like this too!

Many of you might have already known that Reply Series and Prison Playbook are the same writer as Hospital Playlist, so if you like this writer's piece, you will love this as well; but if you don't, then you might not enjoy it, because the writing style is pretty much the same, just that the theme is different.

Unlike normal medic drama, it doesn't focus on a "special ability" doctor who struggles to become a doctor, or evil doctors fighting with good doctors to get recognition. It doesn't have a climax or big conspiracy hidden in between. It surrounds five main leads to share each of their individual life and the friendship that they shared, at the same time bringing out many unexpected, heartwarming short stories of the patients, medical staff and their families.

Similar to their previous series, they will always bring out the nostalgic feel in the 90's and 80's by having some memories flashback, classic songs and of course, as usual, having some black humor that makes you chuckle!

I love this writer's written drama, although I like prison playbook more, but this is great too! Perfect acting skills from the casts, so I'm definitely looking forward to Season 2! :)

It DOESN'T DESERVE low ratings!

The drama's ratings went drastically down during the last few episodes of the show, and I thought what happened in the ending, but honestly nothing big happened. So I don't really see where all the 1.0 or 2.0 is coming from, like hey, if this is 1.0 or 2.0, you probably hardly watch any Korean drama. Like seriously! This is already considered quite a good piece!

I guess people were mainly expressing their disappointment on how the series became a romance-based story and also the main couple's love story but I really think it is pretty okay and I don't think it deserves a strong hate. The story became less focused on startup? Maybe a little, but not that much, maybe people's expectation are abit too high. If you are looking for more tension kind of story, then you may go for Itaewon Class instead, that show got a good main story but weaker on the lovelines. I guess drama just have their flaws.

Talking about second male lead syndrome, I like Han Ji Pyeong more, but I think the main couple suits each other. Although people feel bad for Ji Pyeong as he is the one who started the love story but male lead took over after 15 years. Well, I would say honestly Ji Pyeong wasn't really sincere with the letters at that time (if he really likes the girl so much she would have gone to look for her throughout the 15 years). He lost his chance to chase after the girl so he didn't get it, and it is pretty obvious from the first few episodes already. Well, if we were to say, isn't Reply 1988's second male lead story even more heartbreaking? Just saying.

The "theme" of the drama are quite new and refreshing (although it doesn't really interest me by reading the synopsis), but after watching I really think it is a good piece and all should give it a try (but without having too high expectation). Although the story is kinda predictable but I think it is not boring, hence I would considered not-bad written! Especially I really enjoyed the story between Han Ji Pyeong and FL's grandmother, pretty touching and made me teared up for quite a couple of scenes.

If I were to criticize something about this show, it would probably be the completeness of the ending. It could have been better if they have a more detailed on how they win and become successful, instead of just showing a few pictures etc. As it was being built up the tension between the Morning group and Cheong Myeong company at the last bidding, but it wasn't really explained and just suddenly ended.

Just wanted to share my thoughts, I just feel so bad for the drama looking at all the bad reviews swarming at the front page. Uhhhh, come on guys, it's really not that bad, so much worse ones out there, you guys should watch more dramas and you will know how good this was.

Better production and storyline!

Maybe many will like the first one more as the story focuses on just the two main leads falling in love, but if you are looking more than just the two couples loving scenes, you will probably enjoy this more!

In terms of production, I think they got more budget for this series so the scenes and cameos in this series are in bigger scale and VERY MUCH better!!!!

In terms of storyline, I prefer this one than EL1 as well because Cheng Cheng's hidden mission parts just made the show more exciting, you will be worried that he might get caught or die or whatsover, so that will make you go on and on watching the next episode.
(However, it would be even better if their whole series is in modern world, not just the first few episodes haha! I enjoyed watching them in the modern world more)

Also, I think Liu Shang's actor selection wasn't really a good choice as it always made me felt like they are not the same person. Not because they don't look alike (as they were not supposed to look alike), but the actor didn't really catch the details on how Cheng Cheng smiles, hand posture or expression when talking to Tan Er... hmmm probably the only part that this show is lacking.

Regardless, looking forward to EL3! Because I just wanted to watch the couple again.

Epic Main Plots throughout the series and a second-lead couple that makes you fall hard for!

As a long ancient drama series, it has one of the best 50-episode plots that hypes you up throughout, the whole drama was a climax, never a dull moment! If surrounds a bravery and smart female lead whose family was murdered and as she escaped, she formed allies and seek to find revenge for her family. The whole drama was full of thrilling scenes that make you tensed up from time to time, but do not expect a massive production as some epic scenes were replaced with animated graphics (comic-style). Not sure if it was to save budget, I would say it's a pretty smart move to save cost while keeping the storyline, but couldn't deny the fact that it does look a bit anti-climax... Another anti-climax part will probably be their kissing scenes, when you had high hopes but there are none, only the side cameo couples had it; although I saw somewhere that the director is trying out some special way to show a kiss scene... but I don't really buy it and honestly it disappoints a little. However these don't really affect much on how I grade this drama in overall as the other parts of the drama were pretty good:)

CAST! When I saw the starring casts list, immediately I clicked! But unlike other dramas with terrible storyline and solely based on the fame of the stars, this series definitely did justice to the casting lineup, worth chasing for! All the casts were pretty good, not just visually good but great performance too, Leo Wu being exceptionally impressive! I noticed him since Nirvana in Fire, which I believe it's the same for most of the viewers too. It shocks me seeing how FINE he has grown up to be and not to say his unquestionably stunning performance and acting skills in the drama. Cool, cute, charismatic and physical body shape, he has it all, literally being one of the most charming generals! Actresses wise, Dilraba was visually perfect for the role, she does look like someone that walks out from the comic book, but in terms of acting, I prefer Zhao Lu Si, as I'm impressed on her crying scenes, natural yet heartbreaking; although she has been crying almost every episode in the first half of the drama HAHA but she looks pretty cute still, guess she really fits the role! Liu Yu Ning was a hidden gem, never thought this King of OST is appearing in an ancient drama series, and honestly he has stolen all the attention and my love for the drama mainly for his adorable matching with Zhao Lu Si; although he wasn't the best acting actor but he's absolutely my favourite role in the drama! Among the 5 main roles, I would say Alen Fang's role is the most unfavourable one. He wasn't a villain actually but he was pretty much a coward in the whole drama, was supposed to be a big brother of the female leads but ended up protecting none of them. I would say luckily this role had Alen Fang's fine visual, so I could actually bear with his cowardice a little...

On top of the 5 main roles, I would say their cameo roles that come along there throughout the series are very much to my liking too, as a subordinate, a brother, a friend, a disciple, a master, a general, they were all very LOYAL and contributed to the success of the fight; although the screening time were very much lesser, but I love them too!

Encountered so many cheesy and boring side couples in other C-drama series, I never had high expectation on the second couple. BUT FINALLY, is the very first time I fell in love with second lead couple more than the main ones, and FELL SO HARD: Hao-Yan Couple, a love story of a Big Bad Wolf and a Little Rabbit!! It's fascinating how the cold-blooded killer got warmed by the pure-hearted princess and started being such a nerdy sweetheart, their story only started in the second half but it was more than enough scenes to capture viewers' hearts! So better don't drop the drama halfway or you'll miss out a lot here! That's one part I never get enough of and can rewatch it again and again!

In terms of production, it's a 9 out of 10. I find it a bit lacking in terms of fighting or war scenes, not as many as expected, it's a shame as I know Leo Wu was always taking martial lessons but he wasn't really able to show off that much in this drama as he was always on his horse haha! But when he does in those few scenes, you know he pulls off VERY WELL! Besides the fighting part, to emphasize, I would proudly say they had the BEST DRAMA OSTs!! What a powerful sound track that gives you all the goosebumps, I love all the songs so much, can't even name one to be my top favourite because they were all so good, and as the drama has ended, I can only immersed myself of reminiscing the series with the OSTs!

Honestly while some people were cheering for second season, I find it just nice for only one season, but I'm hoping to see more great dramas like this coming up this year and hope to see the casts reunited in other series sometime in the future! :)

Light-hearted Web Drama to Watch

If you are just looking for an entertaining short drama series to watch, this may be a good choice!

It doesn't have a pretty strong storyline but it was fun and simply entertaining to watch. It has a pretty similar setting with the other Web Drama "Eternal Love" where the two main leads hated each other at first but after getting married they slowly fall in love with each other.

What makes this drama special was probably the sleep walking of the male lead that was honestly quite hilarious hahaha

Spectacular Production!!

Being Zhang Zi Yi's first drama series ever, it has proven that this never fail to impress! From story, to casts, acting, production, lines, chemistry, OSTs, plots, everything is pretty well done. Although this drama didn't turn out to be the Top / Most-watched series of the year but it definitely deserves a recognition!

This drama surrounds different family clans fighting over the throne whereby the female lead - Ah Wu, being part of their ploys and was forced to marry a prince who comes from a impoverished family but got his title because of his remarkable achievement as a general. Honestly I was held back a little knowing that it is such a long series but it turns out that before I could even notice, the drama ends! It was surprisingly more exciting than expected and I was so amazed with their production (luckily it was filmed before COVID-19), I'm glad I still get to watch drama of such scale! We couldn't ask for any better production than this, especially every war scene that are brought to the screen, splendid!!

In the past, I wouldn't like this drama, but now, yes. I find political drama sometimes are too heavy for me as I didn't really understand the plots when I was young (for someone who started her obsession on dramas from very young age). But as I grow up, I started enjoying dramas like this especially when it has endless plot-twist in the show! So many conspiracy where you never know who is your friend or enemy, every moment is just so unexpected and hooked you on it! Honestly, I couldn't really pinpoint any part of the drama that was done badly; However, that doesn't mean it's a kind of drama that everyone will like, NO. This drama is not for people who : (1) Don't like serious or political ancient drama, (2) Looking for light-hearted and comedy, (3) Watch dramas for young and handsome "Xiao Xian Rou" , (4) Don't enjoy complicated plots, (5) Impatient to catch a long series, (6) Expecting a sweet and hot romance story.

Speaking of which, their love story was another part that actually wowed me. This ain't the normal forced marriage plot where two of them hated each other and fall in love dramatically after; this is a slow-burn romance yet matured marriage with no cringey, no jealousy, no misunderstanding and full faith for their partner, hand-in-hand to overcome whatever that comes. I really loved the fact that although they didn't marry for love, but they accepted each other as who they were, respected every decision that they made and love with full-hearted from the start to the end, so beautiful :) Both the main leads have the best personality in the show, they were both loyal, smart, kind-hearted, honourable and selfless! Indeed a perfect match!!!

As for acting, what's there to comment on? Simply flawless. That's why it's great to have veteran actors and actresses than good looking casts, as great acting brings out the hidden emotions of us but not pretty faces. Well, but Zhang Zi Yi is real gorgeous IMO! Although I saw some comments criticizing on how her makeup and costumes make her old, and how she shouldn't act like the 16-year-old girl, however doesn't matter to me.

I'm glad that I watched it and I hope more people notice about it too!

Cliche Plot with a Heartwarming Touch

Many compared this with CLOY - since both are from the same writer, some of the scenes are somewhat similar, but to compare, I think this is far behind. The starting of CLOY is already unique on its own, esp building a comedy on the North Korea's settings, whereas QOT is purely a story of a married couple - it's less fun but more realistic.

Cliche plot to expect - terminal illness, loss of memory, accident, gun shot - you name it. TBH the ending of the second last episode made me suck back all my tears and started rolling my eyes. Like, really?

But I gotta say, I do like the parts that make me cry - it gives a strong emotional touch on kinship and love, some of the lines hit you hard and made you look back in life, and also emphasize the meaning of life. [SPOILER] One very special scene that you might not find it in other dramas - the interpretation of FL's death at the end, it's really sorrow yet beautiful :')

Overall - watch this if you are finding a drama to cry on. I wouldn't say it's the most special one, I think the writer and casting itself gave this drama a huge "fame boost". I mean, how can you not fall in love with Kim Soo Hyun again? His crying scene is 10/10 - as always.

When you read the synopsis or storyline, you won't think you will be addicted to the show, but once you started watching you just can't stop.

This show gave me some "Love O2O" vibes, although the male lead wasn't as handsome as Yang Yang, but TBH their story is very much better :) I love how they slowly build up their puppy love and with all the 神助攻 (loveline helpers) of the show (K&K kiddos, main leads' friends and family members) that makes the couple fall in love! Some scenes were just cute and funny, you will smile widely while staring at your screen without noticing because the couple is just too adorable!

So if you are looking for something light and funny, give this a try and you will not regret :)

I haven't been watching Taiwanese Drama for years, I remembered the last few ones I watched were quite boring so after that I started shifting to Kdrama and Cdrama, but to be honest this is quite a good piece for a Taiwanese Drama.
Although the plot is quite confusing but it was unpredictable. I try not to crack my head to figure out the reasoning for each arranged plot and simply just enjoy whatever it was shown. So, at least for this drama, they arranged the scenes to make it easy for people to understand, instead of having the need to rewind and watch couple of times to understand.

But preference wise, this show is good but not perfect. A lot of parts can be done better to make it a 10/10, could be the chemistry between the leads or maybe the production... I personally don't really like the 'Last Dance' song, it appeared too frequently to the extent that it became a bit annoying hahahaha (no offense), but 'Miss You 3000' was great for the drama.

Overall, it is amazing for a one-time watch but maybe not so much for rewatching.

Perfect Web Drama!

I finished the series in just 2 days!
I personally enjoyed watching shows that have good storyline from the start to the end, with equivalent amount of exciting, funny and emotional scenes in between :)
Well.... but the sad part wasn't that sad, it just turns out to become funny, so probably you should not be expecting this drama to make you cry haha~
I loved the main leads chemistry and Han Shuo's devoted character! Just made your heart flutters!!!!
It might not have massive production like big war or hidden conspiracy but as a small web drama piece, it is just PERFECT!

I will definitely REWATCH IT!!!

Don't Look It In A Religious Way and ENJOY THE RIDE!

Another masterpiece by Park Jae Bum writer!
By looking the title and the plot it doesn't really interest me to watch, but I know it was "Chief Kim"'s writer so I will definitely give it a try! and INDEED, it was as good as Chief Kim! :)

I mean for people like me who don't really know about religious stuff, oftentimes don't quite understand about all the religious part but you can simply just ignore it and don't take it too seriously. Enjoy the main plot of it and you will realise it was SO WELL WRITTEN.

I love how the main characters come together despite being so different, they were so skeptical against each other from the start but so unite at the end! The whole show was like a rollercoaster where you thought they were getting ahead but then they failed again, trying again and again to win the battle, but it was not boring at all!!! Just, FULL of EXCITEMENT!
*Not to say, their acting made those funny scenes REALLY hilarious, to the extent that made me laughed out real loud. 🤣🤣 Definitely need to give some credits to the team for keeping the story thrilling while bringing so much laughter throughout the entire series.

I knew Kim-Nam-Gil got a Daesang for this show and honestly he totally deserved it!!!! His action scenes were SOOOO GOOD and not to say how his acting impressed me a lot. I'm looking forward for their second season and I hope it will be the original cast too :) I LOVE THEM!

A heart-warming family drama that gives you full of laughter and tears :)

Probably the very first family C-drama I've watched before. I've watched many modern dramas that have friendship, love and family but I supposed this one is pretty much towards the family side (siblings, father-son, mother-son etc). I really wanted to say: I LOVE IT. It's not some kind of show that will give you much excitement but it is definitely a show that you felt so relatable and a good show to cry on. I hardly cry for shows but this show just made me crying non-stop, especially the part where people are doubting their relationship just because they are not from the same family or even how they been through hardships but their loved ones are always there for them, with the OSTs, the whole scene just became so teary :(((( The dads' acting and Steven's acting are the best! TBH, SWL's side of story is as depressing as Steven's but I think he wasn't that good in pulling those heartbreaking scenes off, could have been better! But overall was still amazing:) I love all the side couples too (including oldies couple haha, it was extremely cuteeee!)

Some people might not like the romance part between the siblings but I can understand why writers do that, it is just to make them officially a family, so I don't mind that! Although I think it would be as great if they don't have any romance between the siblings.

I finally know how it got such high ratings on MDL, and they totally deserve it!

Well-deserved All the Hypes!

Definitely one of the best modern Chinese dramas! The visuals and chemistry that you couldn't resist!!!

To be honest, this drama is a little similar to the other gaming romance series like Love O2O and Go Go Squid, although it didn't touch base too much on the gaming details like the others, more on the main leads interaction outside of the game. However, I would say I loved this couple the most!! The drama has pretty hilarious and quirky lines, main couple exploding chemistry, not to say their visuals that are totally eye-pleasing, it's pure fantasy. Not to say Yang Yang extremely alluring deep voice and charming smile, Dilraba is really gorgeous too! Both of them really fit the roles and portrays a really cute couple in the show! Sweet but not cringe! :)

The first half of the show involves more on gaming as the two main leads get connected again with each other through a game (although they were high school mates). After watching this, I was so curious about the game so I went to download a PUBG game and try playing, that's how I finally understand what they were talking about in the show. However, if you do not want to do so it's totally fine to watch it without knowing as well, doesn't really affect much, you just need to know that this game requires a lot of strategy and because the male lead is smart so he picked up the game real fast and was really good at it.

In case you want to know about the game, here's an extremely simple summary of it:
1. Basically in one game, there are two teams (5 member each) and you will need to pick one hero to battle.
2. The game has 100+ heroes and each hero has their own unique spells and abilities. Like if you choose a fighter hero, you can make more damage to the enemy but you need to get near to enemy to kill, if you choose a mage hero, you can cause damage from a distance, have lower HP but your power can kill enemy easily etc., so you will need to use your strengths to support the team. Some heroes are difficult to play, because their spells have a lot of grey area, but it is very powerful if you know how to maximize it, but new player won't know that.
3. You will need to destroy the base of the enemy (at the same time defending yours) in order to win, in the process of it, you will need to kill your enemy to accumulate more "kills" and try avoiding being killed because when you are killed you need to wait for a certain time to resurrect and enemy can destroy your base during this time. MVP are usually those who got the most contribution in overall (evaluated based on the no. of being killed, kills + assist, caused the most damage etc.)
4. In this drama they always mentioned about "五連絕世" (Pentakill), it actually means killing 5 enemies in one go (without dying). Usually that happens when enemies team up to gank you, but instead they all got killed by one player.
5. There are 3 lanes to head to enemy base, some can get the fastest to the base, some you can kill creeps to earn more gold etc. so it actually requires a lot of team work and strategy in it to win. Like if you are bad, you usually don't go alone on a lane because your enemy can ambush and you will be killed easily.
6. The key point to be good in the game will be experience, knowledge and strategy. Because If you know all the heroes' power, you can predict their next step and plan your next move to kill them. You need to think fast, move fast and react fast, that's why this game is actually quite hard.
*I didn't play the actual Honor of Kings so not sure if it is exactly the same, but I supposed the basics are there! There are much more details but it's not so important for the drama, so all these should be sufficient for you to understand!

The second half of the drama talks more about their romance and the male lead's aerospace dream. This is where you can see how the couple is being so adorable when they were with each other! Be aware of diabetes with all their flirting and kissing scenes! Just so natural, never a second to think they are acting! I love it especially when they were teasing each other or even embarrass each other in front of their parents or colleagues. I come to realise that this drama doesn't have a second couple (unlike the typical C-drama) but the whole series wasn't dull at all, maybe that's why it was even better! Because if you enjoy them, you get to enjoy them in full, without any “interruption". Although their "ex-s" appeared here and there, I thought they are gonna be those annoying second leads to try breaking the couple up, turned out that they don't really have much scene haha! I would say their relationship was a pretty "strong" one, even though they are a LDR, having different financial status, lifestyle and being in different work industry, they learn to understand each other, overcome all of it without family conflicts and unnecessary misunderstanding. Although it's really lovely to watch, I would say it is actually pretty unrealistic in real life though haha! Well, but we look for fantasy in dramas, that's why we watch it right?

This drama definitely lives up to my expectation and worth being hyped up for! :) I personally didn't give it a 10/10 mainly because I was looking for more climax in the drama, however I don't deny that I really enjoyed watching the entire series even though they don't have it. Highly recommended for the year and is definitely a Rewatch-worthy drama! :)

A Ghost Ride

To summarise the drama, it is a female exorcist partnering with a psychic lad, helping to dispel the spirits from the haunted buildings. Similar to all the other ghost-themed dramas, it also has various short stories within, however a different way of exorcism.

To me, this is not the most special supernatural drama but the overall plot was pretty okay, good story pace and great acting (especially Jang Nara). I personally think the main storyline is just ordinary, as I find the villain not as scary as I thought and the climax was a bit weak, as compared to the other similar dramas, but definitely worth the watch if you like this genre. I love the parts where they were fighting with the spirits though, quite nerve-wracking!

Talking about acting, I really enjoyed watching Jang Nara in action, her performance was kind of smashing, not just cry when she is sad or yell when she is angry; she can just talk but you can see tears in her eyes or she can just whisper but you can feel her anger, simply amazing.

Talking about chemistry, I like the main leads :) However this drama has no romance story, the two main leads are more like noona-dongsaeng partners that bicker and joke around.

As many might ask, yes you might need to be aware that there will be ghosts popping out here and there, and it all came out when the setting was pretty dim and quiet, so be sure you anticipate them coming so you won't be freaked out.

Overall, not the best but definitely a good piece to recommend to those who enjoyed supernatural genre drama!
