Title Cinderella Is Online Spoiler
The FL's best friend who'd been AMAZING until now suddenly does a complete 180 in ep 8 and behaves absolutely…
And, yup! He does exactly that. He breaks up with her. Via TEXT no less!

This is one of the rare dramas where I really hope they never reconcile. Satisfaction for me would come from him coming to him senses and begging to try to win her back and her turning him down flat. But, of course, I'm sure they're going to give us a happy ending.

It'll be a miracle if I end up being satisfied with that. Let's see if they can make it happen.

He's an absolute loser. While I still dislike the SML he had valid arguments against the ML and I'm glad he said it all to his face. The fact that, in response, instead of being a man and making even the slightest attempt to just TRY to protect the FL, it's obvious that this pathetic loser's reaction will be to abandon her instead. I cannot remember the last drama I watched where I disliked a ML this much and that's WITHOUT comparing him to the original. I couldn't even begin to make that comparison. Shit, let me try. It's like comparing a 5-star gourmet meal to a 5cent stick of gum.

I haven't finished this yet. I'm midway through ep. 9 but I have to say that from ep 8 on this storyline suddenly…
The FL's best friend who'd been AMAZING until now suddenly does a complete 180 in ep 8 and behaves absolutely irrationally. I didn't like the best friend in the original version and thought she overreacted as well when they had their big tiff but I at least understood where she was coming from and why she was behaving the way she did. This time it came out of nowhere and was just completely over the top.

Then...okay this ML is the complete opposite of the one in the original version. He's indecisive and lacks confidence and awareness. He's a complete letdown. But when that who thing happened where the SFL's friends made those false posts online and the FL was being hammered all around, I was completely disgusted by his inaction. He did NOTHING to address the situation or stand up for her. He did NOTHING to show his support of her. All he needed to do was behave like he did when he was pursuing her - go sit next to her in class, walk through campus proudly holding her hand. How difficult would that be for him to do? The fact that he never bothered making any sort of stance completely disgusted me. It took everything away from what I loved about the original version.

He's finally meeting up with her now in ep 9 - off campus though *smh* - so let's see how this goes...

Why is it that in all of these dramas the women can't ever tell when a man is doing things to get close to them? Like these SML's always use these underhanded ways to get close to the females. Why, WHY can girls never see right through that shit and/or just turn them down flat? I HATED watching the FL have a meal with that other guy. Hated it.

One of my absolute favorite things about the original drama was how nothing and no one could ever shake or come between them. Each, individually, had their own confidence in themselves and in one another. They always had firm footing knowing where they stood with the other person. I'm missing that in this version, especially from the ML. That overbearing confidence of his was trademark. All this insecurity they're showing with this ML is a bit of a letdown but, even more so, is that lack of sure-footing and unwavering certainty between the main couple.

I detested the SML in the original version and I already dislike the SML in this one. So it irks me that they've even given him an opportunity to get close to the FL at all.

There are A LOT of things I prefer with this version though, but I think I'll actually write a proper review for this version once when I'm finished watching, and I'll list everything there.

I DO appreciate them showing her actually playing on her laptop and showing an onscreen version though. They should have kept it that simple and not tried to mimmic the original by showing in-game play. I LIKE the view of the watching her game through her computer because it's actually more realistic to watch her play that way.

I gotta ask. Why bother making a remake of a drama where CGI good is inarguably critical but not make sure you have at least a decent CGI team or budget first??? Why even start it?

This was done in 2021. Let's completely ignore the original drama and movie or even any of the multiple other gaming- and heavy CGI-related dramas already on the market and try not to compare them. Based on the storyline alone they should have known that even average CGI quality would me a must! I just started watching this a few minutes ago and what I'm seeing is way below average. Is my HI DEF is TOO hi def?

I love me some Japanese dramas despite their tendency for low quality graphics in general but even I am bothered by this. I don't get why they would even move forward with production without properly addressing the issue first. *smh*

Jesus Christ! The mother. Wow. Just wow! The words I just used to refer to her cannot be published on here. Okay...somehow…
Nope. I've gone ahead and searched up some episode recaps and I'll be putting this one off some more. I seriously can't handle the heaviness of the typical Kdrama right now and this seems to be nothing but a whole lot of that.

I do find it off that they're spending so much time dwelling on a SML's backstory though.

I just read the 2nd review above which seems to answer my question, for the most part. I'm still mostly curious to see if there were any signs of the FL having any actual feelings for the ML to justify people's super strong reactions about who the FL ended up with.

OH HELL NO! All this trifling talk about the SML vs the ML yet no one thought to mention the workplace violence and abuse that occurred right at the start of this drama?! Seriously!

Gooddamn kdramas with this shit! Do we seriously always need to watch this disturbing stuff that clearly happens far more in Korea than it should be? [There's no way I'm buying that this shit doesn't actually happen, not with how often it's depicted in dramas, especially when it's not even the main focus of the story.]

I'm sorry. I'm upset because that caught me completely off-guard. Seeing a bunch of grown ass men stand around and watch another man be brutally beaten in front of them in an office setting...I'd have lost my shit. No lie or exaggeration. Desks would literally have been flying.

Seriously people. Some warning would have been appreciated.

I have a question as I haven't watched this yet. I keep seeing comments like the SML could have gotten the girl had he tried or if the show didn't force him to be the SML, or like the comment below which says the show made it seem like the SML was the ML all along and switched midway ("betrayed the viewers" is strong wording by the way). None of those comments seem to address the FL's feelings towards the SML. Like, did she ever show any attraction towards him as a man?

Forgetting all other influences or even the existence of the ML, does the FL ever show any romantic interest in SML whatsoever? In reality, do we only start noticing a person when they start showing signs of having interest in us? No, we see things in and about them that we find attractive and then begin interacting with them in ways which allow us to feel things out to see if they may be attracted to us too.

In fact, with that in mind, what if that's what happened with the SML? He found himself attracted to her so he felt her out to see if she may be attracted to him too. If she never showed any signs of such an attraction then it would make sense for him to never make a move. We don't want someone to only notice us because we tell them we like them.

If the FL never even considered the SML in a romantic light why is everyone continuously trying to ship them? That doesn't make any sense to me.

I'm finally about to go watch this now after years of hesitating because of the comments. I honestly thought I'd watched this one already. I'm shocked! I hate love triangles so I haven't been able to bring myself to watch something which seemed to have a heavy one throughout but someone just responded to me shedding some light on the situation so now I'm more curious about the love triangle than anything. Let's see how this turns out!

I have a question. I keep seeing comments like this one about the SML having a chance if he'd tried. Does the FL ever show any romantic interest in him whatsoever? I mean, we don't only start considering a person romantically because they've shown interest in us. We're attracted to them and then feel them out to see if they may be attracted to us too. So, I'm curious as to whether she ever showed any signs of having interest in him that would make it seem like the only reason they didn't get together was because of his inaction.

it's a tough decision to drop a drama but in my opinion it's totally fine not to finish this one, this is the…
The office politics - if I remember correctly the support that was being given by the director in the beginning took a complete turn and he instead started becoming more focused on protecting the company's image. The men banded together to convince the other females in the company to put all the blame for the sexual harassment situations on the FL, which they did. I know one of the men - the most handsy one - finally broke down and took some fault (the FL got him to consider how he'd feel if she were his own daughter go through what she was) but there was no major WIN per se. The men started being more cautious about how they treated the females in the workplace but the FL got shipped off too somewhere remote to basically make the whole thing go away.

This series also introduced me to Jung Hae In and I've been a die-hard fan of his since. He's adorable and THE MAN CAN ACT HIS ASS OFF! Like seriously! You'll love him in One Spring Night.

If you watched more of SITR it would become upsetting to see how the FL started treating him. I loved them as a couple at first too so it hurt so much more each time she completely let him down. A lot of my crying was WITH him. I felt so much hurt for him because his pain was so deep as his love for her was also so deep. As blatantly obnoxious as her mother was towards him, it was the way she handled the situations that hurt him more.

I'm glad we could both openly discuss our differences of opinion too without judgment. I was worried at first that I'd offend you but still wanted to give it a shot to share my thoughts. It doesn't always work well. At times, no matter how understanding I am of a person's views they only see that I disagree and immediately start attacking and getting ugly. LOL! I remember one time I was actually defending someone who was being attached on here and they clearly didn't bother reading what I'd actually said but immediately sent hateful messages and then blocked me! I was so baffled!

I don't have to agree with a persons viewpoint to understand and respect it. I genuinely wish that's how everyone would be on here but it's definitely not always the case. I've met some truly awesome people like yourself though - young and old - who've even help me broaden my outlook as you've taken the time to express yourself and your views. I LOVE it when it happens. I hate when people leave a comment about a drama with no explanation. As long as they've got some basis for their viewpoint I'm all good because it's often when they explain why the liked and/or disliked and why, that I'm able to gauge whether or not I want to watch something myself. Even though they may have disliked something, the reason they give for disliking it may be one that doesn't bother me at all. No need in getting angry at them for having a different opinion.

I agree with you.. how did this drama got a 8.4??? It was a waste of time!!!! i advise everyone not to watch Netflix…
OMG if only they would! It's so frustrating when a Netflix drama lets us down because they've got the resources to give us some really great work. I've found that it's not just their Asian drama selections they suck with though. I've tried watching several of their other foreign language dramas and movies this past year and, again, it's very hit or miss.

Man! How do I wish they would replace their drama selection staff. That would be a dream job for me too, but I'd also fully support giving a fellow drama-lover like yourself a chance to do it for all of us as well. I just want more good dramas to watch!

I really wish they'd cut out that entire aspect of the show - I'm referring again to the situation with the ML's…
I figured out later on that the writer must lack life experience. Also writing experience. Both showed in many ways later on throughout the drama. In this particular situation, they don't seem to understand the true effects and repercussions of abandonment. I saw later on that the way the mother handled the entire situation from beginning to end was also a major part of the problem too.

The writer seems to choose to write about things they don't really understand very well. It's more like...someone telling a story and wanting to add a back story and uses something they may have seen or come across in a novel or watching another series that they think would fit the story but they don't truly have any knowledge about it so they do a poor job of incorporating it effectively. Even the romance seemed to be written by someone very young and very lacking in any romantic experience.

The lack of writing experience shows in how choppy the drama is. It's like they don't understand the process of building up to major plot points or understand how to make the story flow. It made me thing of the series, W. When the FL realized she was in the comic strip and time flowed based only on what was relevant to the ML character of the comic. One minute we're watching events over a period of days. Then we're 2 months out and shown something completely irrelevant then we jump to 3 weeks later for something else entirely then we're suddenly a year out. It wasn't even like there was a reason for the changes in pace in terms of maintaining the flow of the story.

Anyway, the writer does have some talent for writing but they need more of both life and writing experience to really excel. I think they could end up putting out some great works in the future if they're developed well.

Okay I'm on the final episode and I think I get it now. This has to have been written by someone very talented, but also very young and inexperienced. A lack of life experience explains away ALL of my issues with the writing.
