Perfect Feel Good RomCom

Story
This series was simply perfect. If you've seen the American version, then you'll pretty much get a gist of what it's about, but it has that k-drama heart and familial love that the American one lacked. You go from laughing to ugly crying in seconds with all the feel good moments this series has. They delve more into the characters and you get to understand the different perspectives of each of them. The cinematography was great also and the story gave us closure of all the characters in the end. It was practically gift wrapped. (brace yourself for the final moments in the final episode)

Acting/Cast
OMG...LEE..DO...HYUN. That man acted his ass off. He played a guy, who was actually an adult, trapped in a young body. (LOL) It wasn't cringy or awkward and his scenes just...….flowed. His voice is so soothing. My gosh. This man deserves all the awards for this show. The casting was great. All the actors played their roles well, even the ones you hated.

Music
Soundtrack was the bomb. I still can't get "Hello" out of my head and you can't help but tear up, when you remember the scenes.

Rewatch Value
Most definitely 100%

Overall
This show is a must see. JUST WATCH IT. Gather around the TV/computer with your family. Hug your Dad. Tell him you love him because this show really makes you appreciate the family that you have. A beautiful life lesson this show has about family and marriage. It was funny, heartwarming, sad, lovely....I'm running out of cute adjectives. Just watch it!!!!

Lots of wasted potential.

Let me just start by saying, Gun really sucks at emotional acting. He actually did a good job in the first episode, but then his acting just took a nose dive as the series progressed.

Again, the second couple stole the show for me. I liked them.

It started out strong, but then it began to just lose steam by episode 4. Then it got ridiculous with a lot of scenes that were meant to be serious, but were just stupid. (The pool scene where all Sky had to do was stand and not panic, instead of almost "drowning". The pool water was waist deep at best)

Although not the best script with okay acting, it was still highly entertaining. I enjoyed Boat's acting the most. I don't know if getting shot in the back and waking up from a coma makes you sexy, but gosh, Boat looked EXTRA handsome in the final episode. Maybe it was because he was smiling more. He maneuvered through the scenes pretty okay. His fight choreography was actually pretty good, not Hollywood spectacular, unrealistic as hell too, (you just got a bullet pulled from your back, babes) but good. I also liked the guy that played Pitch. He was a likeable character and the "wisdom giver" of the group. The actor did a nice job. He seemed like the one that had the most acting experience out of the group.

The girl characters, man they were slow on the uptake. I stopped feeling bad for them at this point. "Other than us, there's one more." WHO ELSE WAS IN YOUR FRIEND GROUP, YA DOORKNOBS!!! I really hope that hospital scene was of them confirming the relationship and then just being devastated that it was true.

Anyways the concept was new and interesting, but was just executed poorly. This drama had a lot of potential to be great.

Probably the TAMEST History show of the series yet.

First, this show was not all that terrible. I was expecting worse based on these comments/reviews. It was actually better than History 4, in my opinion.

My likes:-

1) Tai Che Ni. He was a high functioning, neurotic mess, but very likeable and funny and I'm glad he released all that energy in taking care of Hai Yi. They had the bickering couple thing going on and it's my fav troupe.
2) Hai Yi. Lips to die for, a big kid, getting through his abandonment issues, but still very sweet.
3) The Time Lord or Time Deity. Whatever the hell he was called, he was funny and his random scenes always cracked me up.
4) I liked how they didn't waste time with Che Ni freaking out when he came to the future. He was adaptable. It helps that it was just 22 years into the future. But yea, they got right down to it.
5) The Sam reveal was a nice plot twist.

My Dislikes:-

1) The second couple really didn't have anything going for them expect for all that company drama and Liang Wen Hsen keeping tabs on Lin Huai En throughout his entire life. But they were cute I guess.
2) Tai Che Ni. The big dummy started to sabotage the relationship from episode 18 and onwards.
? Then him asking Hai Yi to go back to the past with him. Child, ain't no sane minded person will go back to 2000 when they have millions and a company to run in the future.
3) The misunderstandings. It's 2023. Time to put this troupe to rest unless it actually works for the story. ALL of these misunderstandings could've been solved if these guys had sat in a room, told their respective partners to STFU, listen and don't walk out of the room, until they had finished EXPLAINING the issues.
4) At one point we got nothing on the time travel element and they just focused on company shenanigans. But this was also clearly soul transmigration since Bo Wei ended up in Che Ni's body. So where's the REAL Bo Wei??? Because they clearly didn't give two craps about what happened to the real Che Ni that must have been trapped in Bo Wei's body back in 2000.

But other than that, this was alright. There was another obligatory History cameo with the stepbrother and psychopath getting their happy ending, but they refuse to give us a proper ending to Hsiao Li Cheng and Teng Teng because their story still felt unfinished. This was possibly the tamest and fluffiest of the History series.

P.S, I liked the main couple's love scene. It was sloppy and more realistic looking.

Fun little web drama

This actually wasn't that bad. It's one of those short web dramas on Youku, where the episodes are about 6 mins each. Their Youtube channel compiled all of them into one video with a 2 hour run time.
So the drama is about this app where people can order food to change their personality traits/skills. Chi Xiao Yu is a very timid girl, she finds the app, orders all these delicious foods that alters her personality skill to suit the situations she's in, which leads to very hilarious or heart thumping interactions with her boss, Su Yang, who is also hiding a little secret. There is also a price she has to pay for each trait/skill she buys. Such as, the more traits/skills she buys, she starts to lose a trait/skill she was born with.
It's a low budget series, so don't expect much, but the female lead was great. I enjoyed watching her. The drama is cute, funny, there are lots of kisses, but they're all awkward. The male lead is handsome enough, and he does an okay job. The story starts out strong, but starts to lose a little steam by the hour mark, but watching the female lead act out different personalities is very entertaining. There is also a lesson here where they're trying to teach us that people should love us for who we are, don't change yourself for people and quite literally just "Be Yourself" , love yourself, blah, blah, kumbaya. I liked the format they used for when she eats the food to build up whichever trait she wants. If you've ever played any type of RPG game, you'll get it.
It's not a heavy drama, there's angst, it's minimal. BUT there is a drawn out misunderstanding that was really pointless.

If the heart eyes emoji was a show, it would be this one.

This was one of the sweetest, purest and fluffiest BLs I've ever seen. The story was easy going, light and so cute. If you want to watch one the most quotable series full of heart eyes, rainbows and a little angst, this is the show for you.

The acting was great and the entire casts are lovable and likeable.

Loved the opening theme.

Will definitely be re-watching this one.

Overall this was the best thing that came out of the shit storm that was 2020. You will always have the biggest smile watching this series.

This was lowkey Annoying, but Surprisingly Good.

Chinese youth dramas are my guilty pleasure. I love them, can't get enough of them, so I decided to dive into this one. The drama is absolutely annoying, but still good at the same time. The annoying part? ML is such a simp behind the FL. He follows her EVERYWHERE. I mean, I guess some girls would find that heart fluttering, but to me it was just plain ole annoying. He didn't give this girl a chance to breathe. Like at all. Even I was overwhelmed with all the attention. Next, the FL literally brought nothing to the table. Sure she was this cool tom boyish type and I'm glad they didn't make her dumb or helpless, but while the ML was seriously dedicated to her, from her side, it actually just looked as if she gave in and just said "fuck it." She was literally the stone faced, cold hearted type that you mostly see from the MLs and she stayed the same till the end. Then if you're going to dive into this series, prepare for the most ANNOYING love rival. The man stayed til the bitter end. Like LITERALLY. He was the last scene of the drama and STILL pining after the FL even though she's ,married and pregnant. She told him no, but nobody set any boundaries with this guy, especially the ML. He keeps seeing this guy pestering his woman and before he tells the guy "yo back TF up", he just stays on the sideline watching it all go down. Then the writers acted like they didn't know what else to do for the final four episodes, so they decided to bring in ANOTHER guy to fall for the FL. Let me tell you, this chick was as basic as they can get and boring, but yet THREE guys were total simps for her. The side characters were great though. I loved the friendships between the girls and the boys. It wasn't a bad drama, lots of kisses and funny moments, but just be prepared to be annoyed with some scenes.

Things That Go Bump In The Night

This was a really good show. It consist of 8 different ghost stories. Each stories are stand alone and the only thing tying them together was the radio DJ who gets to hear the stories, but the last story is the ghost story for the radio DJ.

Right so each story is creepy and has a good plot. They start out slow trying to blindside viewers, but then as each story builds up to the climax, the pay off is really good. Not much gore, but it relies on cheap jump scares, but the good thing about Thai horrors, they really know how to make up a good ghost, so visually, it was scary as hell. My only downside is the lighting. All the scenes were dark as hell, so you could barely see anything in the scary scenes.

First story was kinda meh, so get through that one as quickly as possible. It was about a caretaker taking a "haunting" job.
Second story was good. It was about two interns taking a job at some remote place and discovers something truly terrifying. This one had two plot twists, but the last twist was truly sad.
Third story is about a lesbian couple and a haunted chair. I liked that one.
Fourth story is about a haunted house and an evil spirit, but the plot twist for that one was REALLY good, you didn't see it coming.
Fifth story was super scary. I swear kids and ghosts are a scary combination. This one was about a mother/daughter duo and the little girl's imaginary friend. It's also another cautionary tale about spending time with your kids.
Sixth story starred Tay Tawan and was my favorite. It was predictable, but it was both creepy and sad. Basically a girl was about to make a ghost her husband.
Seventh story was hilarious as fuck but is a cautionary tale of being a good child to your parent. This one heavily relied on jump scares. The guy in the wheelchair..LOL, I felt sorry for the poor guy, but his dumbass kept going back to the elevator.
Eighth story is about a social media star getting haunt in his new condo by a ghost who doesn't know he's dead. This one finally ties in with the radio DJ's story, which had a hilarious and sad twist. Never whistle at night folks.

LOL What Did I Just Watch??!!

Wow, okay. This was not your usual success romantic comedy. They LITERALLY failed here, but they were happy, I guess? This drama could've been my favorite if:-

1) It wasn't broadcasted by Mango TV, because their subs sucks ass, so I'm pretty sure I missed out on A LOT of the translations.
2) If the story had made some sort of sense. It didn't.
3) The editing was terrible. They ended an episode where the leads were doing one thing, then in the next episode, it began maybe a few weeks or months later, with them doing something else. This drama had no explanations to what happened from a previous episode. (i.e) It wasn't consistent. When it did do a recap, they replayed the entire ending of the previous episode and the recap went on for too long, before it got back to the story. So you're basically left confused about the timeline of the episodes.
4) The story dragged to the point it got boring and you just kind of start fast forwarding.
5) The villains were awful and they literally didn't call them out. One suffered consequences and the other one wasn't even found out and became their friend.
6) The ending was a thrown together mess.
7) They made the FL dumber as the series went along.

What I liked about this that made me give it a 7 even thought this deserved a 5:-

1) The ML. Lu Yong Zhuo is just simply adorable. I love his acting style, his pouty lips, his DIMPLES and that smirk he did. The way he kept looking at FL. In the real world, any female that got that look would simply DIE!!! I think this was his debut too and he did such a great job playing an awkward CEO.
2) The side characters that were in the friends group were awesome. I enjoyed all of them.
3) The comedy.....Their wedding scene was HILARIOUS.
4) It focused on the struggles of their work life and not on their relationship, so this was the smoothest and fluffiest love story ever. No misunderstandings, no breakups, no love triangles. The leads simply loved & supported each other in everything they did and they were so cute and lovely together.
5) Lots of eye candy. The guys were so handsome here.

Overall, I wouldn't give this a second look, unless they sub it properly. I mean, it's really cute and funny, but if you're looking for a proper story, skip this one.

EarthMix Meal Dates

Remember that travel show TayNew had where they travelled around Bangkok eating food? This was basically that, but with EarthMix. They travelled around Thailand and we pretty much sit and watch Mix try to inhale the entire country into his stomach, with Earth taking care of him and also with Mix being a little bitch, collecting holy water in milk bottles to switch back with his sister, like how Mario goes around different worlds collecting coins to save Peach. There was also a subplot with their family farm and other family members trying to sell it. (that plot went no where either) It was a fun, road trip type drama that keeps you entertained. The last two episodes were angsty as hell, so prepare for that. Mix and Earth did their thing. White played a doctor that had WAY too much free time on his hands.

The body switching plot wasn't too heavy. It was actually pretty well done. When intimate scenes came into play, they used Mix's body to remind us that yes, this was indeed a BL. Also, is there like a clause in their contracts that only allows them to kiss in the dark or outside? LOL, it was like 1000 Stars all over again. But yea, this is a good one.

The Most Exaggerated Movie Trailer I've Ever Seen

It was honestly the dumbest thing I've seen, but it kept me entertained. I love these low budget, poor acting, short series that IcedSoyMilk has been subbing. It had every trope you could think of under the sun except for the secret baby plot. They missed that one. The acting was terrible, but the male lead was handsome. I liked the female lead too, she was strong and dedicated to her hubby. At the fight scene, dude had a walking stick and never used it ONCE. Like bro, you should've pound that idiot with it like a whack a mole game. Anyways, you can pass on this one. You won't miss much.

Blandest Rom-Com I've ever seen.

For a drama about romance, the leads had the DRIEST romantic chemistry I've ever seen. It's a watchable show, but eh. The comedy and acting were nice. Sometimes the comedy was a little over the top or forced. (Looking at you Dad) But the romance....The leads had a good bickering/playful chemistry, but the romantic chemistry just wasn't there. They couldn't sell to me that they were supposed to be THE couple in love. They had one real kiss and all the others were awkward accidents. The story focused more on saving a love tree instead of letting the love chemistry between the leads develop. Then you had the MOST annoying second lead who doesn't know how to take a hint. A second couple that were great as separate characters, but were TERRIBLE as a couple because their union was pretty much forced. They had no romantic chemistry. Best character? The Grandmother. She barely had any lines or screen time, but when she arrived, her delivery was awesome.

The first 12 episodes are pretty much comedic relief and draggy, so you skip a lot with this drama. 13 til about 17 when Tong'er enters, the story gets somewhat interesting. From there onward, it's just focused on the tree and the story becomes draggy and uninteresting til the very end. The actors did a good job, but there was so much they could've done with this script.

It's good for a first time watch, but it's a very forgettable drama. This wasn't my cup of tea. Maybe others out there will enjoy this.

PS. The soundtrack was so nice to listen too. The leads have a theme song that I love, now I'm on the hunt to find it.

How to get Away with Revenge while Bluffing your Way through Shit.

The above headline should've been the name for this show or "Congratulations, You Played Yourself!" This drama was just simply brilliant. It was a revenge drama through and through and it didn't let you come up for air. The story kept progressing from start to finish, it never got draggy. If it weren't for all the comedic breaks, this drama would've been way too heavy. (I feel like I've said drama to many times. :p)

The acting was great. Everyone played their role well. NAMGOONG MIN!!!! Oh man, he's just the best. Just throw all the Korean acting awards at this man. He can go from happy, to sad, to clueless, to psychotic in just a matter of minutes in scenes. I just love his acting style. I was also really impressed with Choi Won Young. Been following him since Hello Monster, so I knew he would've had this character in the bag.

Anyways, long story short, if you're a k-thriller fan who wants to be in for a wild ride, I'll definitely recommend this. It also has one of the most satisfying endings. You pretty much give a sigh of relief with the characters, when it's all over. Rewatch value, I would say meh, because then the rush of watching this wouldn't be the same as being a first time watcher. Check this one out!!!!

So Good!

Story
It was the fluffiest, cutest BL I've ever seen. It also had a collection of really funny moments. It's on par with Cherry Magic and Like In The Movies.

Acting/Cast
They were perfect. This chemistry was on point. Alec was just so smooth. He embodied Chen perfectly. He was like the flirt king. Ali was just the cutest with his innocence and awkwardness. I would also love to see a spin off with Martin or at least him starring in his own BL. I immediately liked him.

Music
I enjoyed it, especially the intro theme song. It's so quirky.

Rewatch Value
Yes!

Overall
I have nothing bad to say about this series. It was just so good. You won't regret picking this one up.

Eh.....Could be better but......

Story
I was really excited when they announced that LBC was getting a season 2 and couldn't wait to see more of Ae/Pete and Tin/Can again, but then the whole thing with Saint happened and I wasn't as excited as before, but then I thought, "okay well at least I'll get to see more of Tin/Can". The first episode happened and it just went "WTF" from there. They completely rewrote Tin/Can's storyline but the other characters lives moved forward for about the first 6 episodes, so the audience were left confused wondering what the hell was happening. We had to deal with an emo Ae for a while with no explanation as to what happened with him and Pete, so only those who read the book had the most understanding as to what was going on this season. It started to pick up from episode 7 and got back on track, but it still didn't get any better. The story kind of still flipped flopped around. Apparently it stayed true to the book version of Tin and Can.

Acting/Cast
Most of the OG casts returned, BUT THEY WERE NOT UTILIZED AT ALL. Guys like Mark and Gun (especially Mark) were barely there even though we were supposed to get some sort of continuation with their story. Earth was the one who was REALLY under used since we got to see him a total of 3 times with 10 second screen time. Mean and Plan kind of felt like they just didn't want to be there and their chemistry wasn't as good as it was in season 1.(Their love scenes and kisses were cringe) Mean was great on his own though, but his scenes with Plan...oye. I blame the script. New comers Meen and Est (Tul and Hin) could've been used more because I finally got into their storyline but they were wasted here too. Perth was the only one that acted well and did a better job. Then the cast started disappearing and then popping up randomly to the point you kind of forget they were actually on the show. (Mai's character & Bow)

Music
It was great. You cannot go wrong with Boy Sompob.

Rewatch Value
None...once was enough.

Overall
Some might like it and others won't. If you're really invested in Tin/Can then watch this. I must admit that they had a lot of really cute moments especially Tin. I loved all of his moments with Can and Can brought some funny moments too. This was honestly a skippable season.
