If you don’t mind watching airing dramas definitely check out Wo Rules the World!!!Completed dramas…maybe…
Thank you! I don't mind airing dramas, but I tried Who rules the World... I was excited that Yang Yang and Lu Si are the leads, but it's actually the magic elements that I don't like. That's why I was asking... because there are so many Wuxia dramas or fantasy/magic elements dramas out there...sadly I don't like those historical dramas, that's why I wanted recommendations of dramas without it :D I will try Jun Jiu Ling tho, seems like there is no Wuxia or fantasy genre on that one. Thanks ;)
It's been a few months since I watched this drama and I'm thinking of rewatching because I miss it so much... I can't seem to find a Chinese historical drama like this even tho there are so many out there T-T Are there any similar dramas to The long Ballad? With exciting plot, great relationships, lovely love story and most important awesome fight scenes?
There are actually many historical dramas with good ratings on MDL but a lot of them are Wuxia and I can't seem to get into that genre. I can't take the fighting scenes in those dramas serious. There is too much flying and hovering while they fight... it's more fantasy fights...and I want realistic fighting scenes...
The long Ballad is still the only historical Chinese drama that I really like... want to find more tho :')
the fl is really amazing *scoffs* ( even if i keep saying this to myself - ok , mayb she has her reasons for acting…
I agree. I don't really like her so far as well. She's kinda airheaded and seems dumb to me at some point. She seems to have a strong personality but gets flustered and has weird unnatural reactions sometimes... I know for sure that the character is unnatural and not the actress, because she's actually a good actress... but the fl lead is not doing it for me so far...
I'm in the middle of episode 2... and thinking of dropping. It's just so boring and no character is doing it for me so far...have the huge urge to skip,... and I do love slow paced dramas. My Mister is my all-time favourite drama ever and I loved Lost as well, so it's not the slow pacing for sure.
But I'm reading some good comments... so maybe I'll try until episode 4...
That's so sad :'( Won't watch it then... Don't we have enough pain in the world? Why couldn't they give us fictional happiness at least T-T I hate humans.... and writers.
I didn't watch the last two episodes yet... and I avoided all spoilers, because my mental health can't do sad endings right now, so please without details, can someone tell me:
1. Do Hee Do and Yi Jin end up together? 2. Is Kim Min Chae Yi Jin's child?
Hmm.... really didn't expect this drama to flop this hard by the end. I didn't watch ep 15 yet and after reading some comments... I think I never will. I thought I won't drop it because there are just two episodes left, but what's the point? It will ruin this drama even more for me.
The beginning was so amazing. Really amazing. I loved it so much and was so hyped and overjoyed by this adaption. Thought this would be my first fave Thai drama, but nope. Sadly not. Maybe I'm being to overdramatic lol But I think I'm even more disappointed because it was such an enjoyable drama in the beginning.
The song which demo Sun Woo listened to in the beginning of ep 2... sucks big time lol The lyrics were so generic, cheesy and just baaaad .... that's the song she writing the lyrics to? I hope she's much better than that XD
I'm kinda a bit disappointed about the music choices in this drama... for a drama called Soundtrack the music and ost aren't that good sadly... but maybe it's just not my taste
When I started this I was overjoyed with how great they made the plot for this adaption and characters were really well-written and .... but what the heck are they doing now? >_>
They put too much drama in such few episodes and dragged unnecessary stuff... and the romance is actually rare to almost non-existent for a romance drama... I'm annoyed that the main couple didn't have one episode of actual "peace". I just couldn't watch ep 14 with any joy at all, because I was so frustrated how stupid the plot became and how absolutely dumb they made some characters, especially Gorya... I used to love the changes they made to the original plot but now I think it's too overbearing and just too much for just 16 episodes.
Gorya and Thyme's relationship seems to have the same plot all over again... they fight -> gorya and thyme make up and gorya promises to be always by his side -> drama happens -> gorya hurts/rejects/break up with thyme -> thyme is hurt and becomes aggressive -> thyme finds gorya again and they make up -> and another fight... on and on and on....
Their relationship became so BORING and predictable.... even tho they were so interesting in the beginning... and I'm kinda annoyed how Thyme always tries to get Gorya back even if she breaks up with him.... especially in this episode.... that was so cruel to him and so so unnecessary if the writers didn't turn Gorya into this dumb character... why are they always doing this to female characters?...
ugh... I'm just so annoyed how this drama turned out. I won't drop it since there are just two episodes left, but I will just skip trough the episodes for the bro and sismance... the only thing I still enjoy in this drama -_-
I finished 6 episodes so far.... but I just can't really get into it. Their first several encounters were weird and too overdramatic for me and the b*chy and trash talk-loving behaviour of the FL in the beginning just turned me off real good.... and now I just can't get into the drama or the main couple for that aspect...
I waited so long for this drama and maybe built expectations too high... not sure if I should drop it, because there are so many good comments...
Just finished ep 22 and wow... I love the main couple so much! They are so sweet, funny and natural. And Lu Xun is so wholesome how he treats Qian Wei *-*
This drama is really good and for me the best chinese drama airing right now... can't believe it's almost finished T-T I will miss them so much!
seon wo and mijo relationship feels so one sided to me. I want to root for them but I just dont feel the chemistry.
agree... really weird, because both actors are usually doing great in the chemistry department... the bad script and character writing is doing it's work...
I'm glad my fave actor Ji Sung is on the list! Incredible actor 😍 And So Ji Sub! The older actors are kind of rare on these lists. Just missing my other faves Jang Hyuk, Jung Kyung Ho and Lee Sun Kyun :D But I guess the youngsters are more popular these days ^-^
I will try Jun Jiu Ling tho, seems like there is no Wuxia or fantasy genre on that one. Thanks ;)

Well, it was fun while it lasted :')
