What I find interesting is that the FL is loyal to the 2ML despite him never prioritising her and choosing power…
That's so true that Zi Yu definitely chose ambition over LMT. Now he thinks he still has a chance with her. LOL Even if he makes her Empress, I don't think she'd want to be in that kind of relationship with him having other concubines.
I've watched the waterfall breakup scene few times and I thought it was well done. My heart really breaks for them. π ππ ZWY's emotions were on point and WCR was great too. ππ Ok, now they are even because LMT lied and used CXZ as well. For the people who are really harsh on CXZ for his lies, I hope that's enough blood for you. He knows that he's wrong and willing to take her punishment. "The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong." - Mahatma Gandhi I think the gripe against ML is a bit too harsh. Both aren't perfect characters. ML was doing his duties in keeping his citizens safe and then the situation and emotions get complicated later on. Of course, he could have handled the situation/lies better. LMT threatening to burn CXZ in the cave is a bit too much. Seriously, we can have a strong and independent female lead without the cruelty. Overall, I'm glad she's less petty and vengeful against him. If she outright seek revenge on him, I would be so disappointed in her character. Their separation is necessary to have time to reevaluate their feelings without the lies. Also, it looks like LMT and her gang are at the capital to seek revenge. Today is just too short with just 1 episode.
Iβm going to keep watching this drama with all the changes to see if βThe whole is greater than the sum of…
Yeah, LMT come off to be a bit arrogant at this point. Throughout the lies and fake marriage, at least they showed that CXZ was stressed and conflicted.
@Alexasopretty I don't know, sometimes previews can be misleading. I still think she's trying to investigate what had happened but not unnecessarily choosing ZY over CXZ.
I agree. I noticed novel readers express some disappointments here but majority of us didn't read the novel, so…
@U-chan U-chan The big lesson here is to treat drama version different from the novel. Don't compare them so much. I see too many complaints of dissatisfaction from novel readers. Due to censorship or whatever, it never fails that the drama is different from the novel. As you mentioned about LYF, many readers were dissatisfied on how they whitewashed Cang Xuan's character. I didn't read the novel but I know what he did. For S2, I was satisfied with the change because it's more merciful for my heart. I didn't want XY to hate CX. He was able to let go of his obsession and think more of her happiness. At least down the line they would meet again and still have their brother/sister relationship. Novel version is too cruel for my heart as he did lost her forever. π π If the drama took the same route as the novel, my heart would be in so much pain for CX. π As a nonreader, I'm enjoying and satisfied with AYTO so far.
