Invest Lovingly in One's Relationships with Others to Get Loving Returns

What I Like:
- The father, Li Hai Chao, wins best father of dramas award. He is so giving of himself and everything that he has. He tries very earnestly to parent his daughter and to parent the other two boys. He remains in character the whole time and he makes me laugh and cry. He has really showcased his excellent acting chops in this drama. I am bowled over by his impressive performance from start to finish.
- The very close and loving relationship among the three kids is something which makes me envious. Isn't it nice to have someone rush to you with deep concern whenever you need help? Isn't it nice to have someone to depend on and to get warmth from when faced with hardships and frustrations?
- The idea of acceptance. Li Jian Jian and her father simply accepts the two boys. They do not abandon them in challenging times. Rather, they rally around in such times. How nice!
- Ling Xiao is handsome and so tall. To me, his romantic relationship with Li Jian Jian is not forced at all. I find it believable. He seems like a very good kisser.
- The explanations about different characters' motivations and actions are, to me, welcome. I like knowing the backstory and why a person behaves the way he or she does. The explanations help to tie everything together and to provide proper resolution.
- A happy enough ending where things are tied up pretty nicely. Explanations are given, conflicts are resolved, misunderstandings are cleared, people are forgiven, people learn to live for themselves and not to be manipulated and subservient. Most importantly, people move on and GO AHEAD with what they want to do, what they want to achieve, who they want to be with... they GO AHEAD with life itself.

What I Don't Like:
- Ling Xiao's mother wins bitch of drama-land award. She remains hateful from start to end. She is unreasonable, manipulative, selfish, warped in her thinking, has victim-mentality and refuses to seek proper help. She tortures Ling Xiao from start to end. I hate that she puts words into other people's mouths instead of being forthright with her own feelings and thoughts.
- The line: "It's for your own good". First, how do you know what's good for me? Second, if it is good for me, why am I so unhappy? I think this line is hateful as it shows that there is poor / lack of communication. If the different people/ parties communicated well with one another, many bad situations can be avoided. Of course, people have to accept that everyone's different and that there are different strokes for different folks.
- Hateful characters like Tang Can's mother, Zhou Miao, Xiao Cheng Zi, Chen Ting's mother, Chen Ting's brother -- hate them so much. Self-absorbed people with a ridiculous sense of self-entitlement.

I guess what this drama informs us at the end of the drama is that one needs to GO AHEAD with life as best as one can. For instance, Li Hai Chao lost his wife and unborn son but he did not turn out like Chen Ting. One should try to get rid of one's demons or at least to appease them so that these demons won't rear their ugly heads all the time and disrupt one's life and that of others'. Mental health is as important as emotional health and physical health. Talk things out like what He Mei did towards the end of the drama. Invest in one's relationships with great TLC and one will reap the sweet rewards. Kindness begets kindness. Love begets love.

My recommendation: Please watch! It is a very good drama with excellent actors and actresses. The plot is pretty riveting too. I'll say - GO HEAD WITH "GO AHEAD"!

Because PSJ

I had pretty high expectations of this movie and figured that it would be a feel good sort of movie. Some parts of the movie shone and were excellent while other parts were, to be honest, a little "meh". I wanted to give it a 7.5/10 but because of the ML, I bumped it to 8/10. I am not his fan but I recognise that he is a fine actor and in this movie, he did a fine job (yet again).

Why did ML mark his own team in the start of the movie? (If someone can help me out here, it'll be great, thanks.)

ML was portrayed as a fairly prickly character with a fairly good heart. He was a great soccer player and he needed his time to shine just like the homeless soccer players. He needed to see his worth and his potential. The movie showed that everyone faced different challenges and everyone struggled to make his/ her life count. It showed that having good spirit and having others support and validate one are pretty vital in driving one "up and on". The highlight and touching moments were towards the end when the goalie kept catching the soccer ball with his whole body as though his entire life depended on it. I was moved to tears. When ML ran alongside his player to get him to kick the winning shot, I was moved too.

Overall, this movie is an okay watch. I expected more. Perhaps I expected it to be more excited and more thrilling. But, it was okay.

Cute Cast

This drama came highly recommended by a fellow drama lover and so, I had to watch it too. Great drama! Loved it!

What I Loved:
- The FL was perfectly cast. She had to be cute and yet, not pretentious. She had to be direct/ forward and yet, not annoying. FL was perfect for her role and she was quite a joy to watch from start to finish.
- I liked how the FL is cute and yet, sassy. She was not a pushover and she made sense even when it was her own view. I like strong female leads with spines.
- This is a high school / growing up drama and so, there was not a lot of hot and sexy sizzle between the FL and ML but the FL and ML looked pretty good together. All was good.
- I liked that FL and ML were very sincere about each other and did not play pointless games.
- The supporting cast was cute too. Everyone played significant enough roles. I found Guan Fang strangely funny. I also found his relationship with his granny very endearing. I also liked seeing how FL and her bestie were sincere and tight besties. (I hate insincerity in reel life and in real life.)
- Happy ending. Cliched but I liked it. Things came full circle.

What I Did Not Like Very Much - Very Minor Grouses:
- I found the first part when they were 16 and in freshman year a very long stretch. Thereafter, from 18 onwards, everything seemed to move a little too fast (compared to the first part). Perhaps pacing could have been a bit more even? Just IMO.
- ML did not have much expression but I also understood that it was his role/ character in the drama.
- Gu Ran should have let Jiang Jia know about how he felt and all the different actions of love and affection.

Overall, this drama was fast-paced enough in that things moved along. There aren't annoying villains who spoil the show. The sole "love rival" could not defeat the FL in any way. She was not a threat at all.

This drama was a fun watch for me! :o) Definitely go for it!

Be Accepting of Those Struggling with Mental Health Issues

This drama was carried by the ML who was really quite charming and handsome. I found this a slightly above mediocre drama with pretty green actors and actresses but, kudos to them for being so earnest and for clearly trying hard! <3

What I liked about this drama:
- There weren't that many annoying and crazy villains.
- The ML was good looking and he made the show believable.
- The FL was pretty okay. It was great that she wasn't an annoying FL.
- The show moved along.
- The desserts looked mighty delicious.
- Minimal angst as things were resolved fairly quickly (as this is a fairly short drama).
- Happy ending.
- Teaches viewers that people with mental health issues are people who are also trying hard to live and to live well. Yes, they are troubled and depressed but they are trying to overcome and they are trying to live well. Show encourages viewers to be more accepting and less judgmental. People should not make a spectacle of those with mental health issues.

What I didn't like about this drama:
- The actors and actresses were pretty green IMO especially the lads who were working with ML and the supporting cast members. Nonetheless, it was clear that they were trying hard to play their roles well and so, I applaud them for their efforts. Everyone has to start somewhere and then, improve from there.
- The ML's sister should not have made everything about ML. True, she cared for him but was her method of care what he wanted?

Overall, this drama is all right as a filler or a light snack before moving on to something more "meaty" or as a breather after watching something "heavy".
:o)

Organic Relationship after a slightly roughish start

This drama is highly rated and so, I gave it a go. I was worried that it would be a little "too young" for me but I was pleasantly surprised by how relatable and cute the drama was.

What I liked:
- The conflicts were resolved fairly quickly. No one tried being noble idiot (other than Xie Ang and Mian Mian). Their relationships were all pretty normal and relatable. "Slice of life" like. I liked that conflicts were fairly swiftly resolved and not long-drawn out over many episodes.
- The actors and actresses were newbies but they acted earnestly and were adorable enough.
- The ML and FL were truly into each other which was nice to see. The FL was chummy with Qin Kai but she was never coquettish or improper. She appeared to truly treat Qin Kai well as a good friend which was nice to see. Qin Kai did not over-step his boundaries either. He really liked FL but he was not crazy like some other actors can be in some dramas.
- The growth of the characters from teenagers to young adults was nice to see.
- The ending was a cliched but happy one and so, I was a happy camper.

What didn't impress me much:
- The ML and FL did not have much sizzle. Sure, they looked pretty good together but I would not describe their being together as "hot" or "sizzling". They were a very ordinary "hmm, okay" couple.
- Xie Ang and Mian Mian did not have a healthy relationship from the beginning or at all. However, they realised that they had to work on their relationship and make things better if they truly wanted to be together. They did not communicate clearly with each other. I think the lesson that viewers can take away from here is that for relationships to work, both parties need to communicate pleasantly and considerately to each other.

Overall, this is a pretty decent drama with newbies in it. I'd say: Watch. But, there's nothing much to re-watch. No withdrawal symptoms after the show is done and dusted.

#thestruggleisreal as an ordinary life is hard

Let me dive right in to what I enjoyed about this drama (which is quite a bit).

What I liked:
- Excellent acting from the entire cast, especially the main cast. They were truly believable in their roles. Eventually, I really liked Lawyer Du and Lawyer Yi. They made sense and they showed how they turned out to be the way they were when we met them in the show. For the other characters like the trainee lawyers, Pan Yan and Shu Yi Nan, it was nice to see their growth. Growth is usually challenging and deeply uncomfortable.
- There are two sides to a coin and there are many sides in a multi-faceted world. The cases presented were simple and yet, complicated; complicated and yet, simple. It is hard to get past all the emotions which cloud one's judgement. The head and the heart sometimes find it hard to be friends.
- The drama truly depicted the ordinariness of life -- the petty fights, the ridiculousness of situations, the bizarreness of life, the confusion of life, the stark differences in perspectives, the irreconcilable differences, the love which turned to hate...
- Some parts of the plot were draggy... perhaps to showcase the ordinariness of day to day life and how mundane it can be and how tiring it can be.
- Most times, the drama delivered by solving cases fairly quickly and by keeping things going. The drama was fairly riveting.

What I didn't like:
- Zuo Na's parents cased dragged for way too long and her mother was a pain. She just dilly-dallied and wanted this and did not want this and changed her mind and changed her mind again... it was not fun to watch. However, this may be the whole point. Life isn't straightforward. Life isn't an equation that can be easily solved.
- I did not like the cases about fighting for the son because he's a boy and he carries on the family name etc. However, I understand that in society, this is the case for countless fights.
- I found the Zuo Na's family issue to be exceedingly saddening for her. She turned out to be as strong as can be despite the many f-up things in her life -- father wanting to divorce mother, father being with best friend and fathering a child with a young girl (who is his daughter's age, annoying uncle etc.
- There were unpleasant and unlikable characters but, isn't life like this?

Overall, I'd rate this as a good watch because of the very fine acting from the cast. They made the show shine. They also spoke really well and I enjoyed listening to them speak. Some lines from the script were witty and meaningful. This a drama that is, perhaps, more suitable for mature viewers. I liked it!

CANDY crush :)

This drama kept popping up on my YouTube and so, I decided to watch it. I watched "Once We Get Married (2021)" and I quite enjoyed it. I gave it a rating of 8/10.

I like this new drama of theirs even more. This drama is like an upgraded version of the aforementioned drama. I like this new drama a lot!

What I love about this drama:
- The ML and FL have great chemistry. I like that they truly have eyes for each other and are sincere towards each other.
- The ML and FL are not the most gorgeous looking of the lot of actors and actresses but they are charming and attractive in their own ways.
- The little boy really looks like his "parents" and he is quite adorable. He is a fine, young actor.
- The plot is quite intriguing and quite fast-paced. I binged this drama in 3 to 4 days.
- I love the FL as she is sassy and fiercely independent. It takes a village to raise a child and she relies on her helpful buddies. She juggles her work life and home life. She is a devoted mother and an intelligent as well as capable worker. She is a modern day woman who is #boss.
- I love FL's bestie, Cao Mu. She is sassy, fiercely loyal, feminine yet strong, gorgeous, stylish and capable.
- I love ML's secretary, Hardy. He is the comic relief. He does his job well. He knows his role. He is loyal and dependable.
- The other characters are also quite all right, e.g. Yao Zi Zhu, Xin Di and Zhou Ru Ji. I like that they are good people with reasonable thoughts (and not psychotic thoughts) and have their hearts in the right places.
- There are bad characters in this drama, e.g. Cheng Qi Rang and Ding Yi Feng, but they get their just deserts and so, I am satisfied.
- The ending is slightly cliched but it is exactly the kind of ending that I like. The ML and FL get married and "live happily ever after" with another baby son.

I highly recommend this drama. Why? As above and because this drama is a relatively stress-free watch. Most parts are sweet and issues get resolved well. This drama is like … a pleasantly cool and sweet drink on a balmy day. Sip it. Enjoy it. The aftertaste is sweet too. :)

Eye Candy in the form of ML & FL (that's about it)

I started this drama with high-ish expectations as it seemed promising.

The starting soundtrack is catchy and upbeat! I also like that FL as I think she's pretty and cute. I must say that I don't find her the best of actresses but she certainly looks good on the screen.

The drama started off quite fine and I'd say that I'd rate it a "round up 8" although it wasn't a full 8/10. However, as the drama continued, my rating for it began to dip. It went from 7.5 to 7 and then, eventually, 6.5/10.

What I liked:
- The ML and FL are good-lookers. They certainly make my TV screen look very fine indeed.
- The parts to do with the ML and FL are pretty sweet and rather engaging.
- The soundtrack is pleasant and suits the drama.
(I guess the above is about it. I tried to add more but...)

What I didn't like:
- FL's ex-boyfriend is all kinds of crazily manipulative. I mean: Why be disloyal when he purportedly loves FL so much? It does not make sense. He also seemed crazily hell-bent on making FL his wife and hurrying her to get married which did not make sense at all. Also, FL is a human being and not his object or an object for him to play with. FL isn't a plaything. That man has issues which he needs to solve. He also blames everyone else around him instead of being self-reflective and thinking deeply about his erroneous ways.
- FL's father is also all kinds of crazy. He simply cannot accept FL being her own person and having her own mind.
- FL's brother is absolutely a pain to watch! The older girl-younger man relationship here is painful to watch and not at all sexy or hot. He behaves childishly on many occasions. He is selfish (in the name of love) and he tries hard to be cute but fails miserably. I cannot stand the way he speaks. There is something odd about the movement of his mouth/ lips. I had to press "fast-forward" whenever he appeared. He isn't cute either.
- ML's crazy ex-girlfriend was truly insufferably annoying. I hated looking at her and I hated hearing her. She and FL's ex-boyfriend should get together. Both have serious issues. They are manipulative and self-centred.
- There is too much screen time for other uninteresting couples in the show - Xu Wei and Fang Qi as well as Wang Ji and Lin Si Yu. They were boring and frustrating!
- FL and ML have a rather lukewarm relationship. They don't seem to have that much sizzling chemistry but it's still okay for me. I completed the drama for them and to see them.
- In general, the acting in the show isn't top-notch/ stellar. The FL seems to have one main "sweet smile" expression. ML seems better. (I am actually a fan of FL... I just have to be honest despite being a fan! I have watched several of her dramas!)
- The plot isn't anything very exciting either. Nothing interesting or suspenseful happens throughout the whole show.

Overall, this show is okay to watch if you just fast-forward any parts that don't excite you. Trust me, you won't miss anything much at all! :)

Falling hard for U

I watched Season 1 and had to move on to Season 2. Season 2 proved to be very good too - entertaining and fun to watch!

What I liked:
- The FL and ML had good chemistry.
- The leads were cute! And, they looked cute together!
- The ML fell in love with FL and he was truly, madly and deeply in love with her. He was also protective of her. So sweet and manly!
- The FL was intelligent and competent! She could hold her own fort and was extremely fluent. I loved how she had her own mind and was able to problem-solve. She was able to help the ML and not just be a damsel in distress.

I really enjoyed this short ride and I’m so happy to have Season 2 to enjoy. Moving on to Season 3! :)

For Leo Wu.

I watched this movie after watching Leo Wu in his (latest) magnificent drama - Love like Galaxy. I wanted just a bit more of this excellent actor.

No regrets watching this movie but this movie isn’t a big deal. It isn’t very exciting or very engaging or very suspenseful. I watched it because of the male lead. That’s it.

The female lead looked very much like Huang Jing Lun and I didn’t take much to her.

This movie isn’t a must watch but if you just want a little bit more of Leo Wu… then I suppose it’s okay.

Puppy Love - I’ve got my eyes on U.

I chanced upon this movie and after doing some brief research on it, I decided to watch it. No regrets. It made me relive (sort of) my teen hood and recall my own puppy love.

What I liked:
- The two leads have chemistry. The boy is tall and good-looking. I only found out belatedly that he is the son of Chen Kai Ge. I searched him up after this watching this movie. It’s a pity that he doesn’t have that many good works to his name (as yet). By good, I mean works with overall ratings of 8/10 on dramalist. The girl is quite plain but she’s okay. They are kind of cute together.
- The movie has touching moments.
- The movie has a happy ending.

It’s not a perfect movie - which one is? But, it’s fine to watch. Overall, good enough! I quite enjoyed it.

Because Qiu Zhe.

I decided to watch this drama because it fitted my 2 criteria — at least 8/10 and no failures for reviews. Viewers praised this drama and so, I decided to go for it. I’m glad that I did.

What I liked:
- Qiu Zhe - I think he is a good actor but I’m not a big fan of his. I have not watched many of his works and was rather surprised to see him as the male lead. (I dived into the drama without checking the cast in detail.) I am pleasantly surprised by his very fine acting in this drama. He’s handsome, charming and appears very real. He acted very well and charmed me very much.
- The actors and actresses were (on the whole) very good at their job. Thumbs up for fine acting.
- The colleagues in the firm were nice people on the whole. There wasn’t much office politics and such.
- The plot was rather fast-paced and kept me engaged. Things were happening and I wanted to know what would happen. The plot was riveting enough.
- The mature romance between female lead’s mother and the older man was rather endearing to watch and realistically portrayed.
- Ending was a little rushed but it was a happy one and I like happy endings.

What I didn’t like:
- The female lead was a bit OTT IMO. She behaved rather irrationally at times IMO and I didn’t agree with her perspectives. She wasn’t the most charming/ pretty female lead either and her chin was too ‘pokey out-y’ for me. It appeared witch-like. I think another female lead might have done a better job and would have had more chemistry with the male lead.
- The female lead’s father and his wife were seriously beyond irksome. They were vile and repulsive. How could a father purposely cause hurt to his own daughter to force her into donating bone marrow to his other daughter. Talk about being biased! I hated the scenes with FL’s father and his wife. Such awful and indecent people.
- The baby girl who keep screaming and crying in the last episode.

Overall, this is a good drama to watch and I recommend it! The rewatch value isn’t high and the two leads don’t have sizzling chemistry but the acting is good and the plot is good too. Watch :)

Good-lookers with chemistry!

This drama popped up on my YouTube feed and I’m so glad that it did! I have watched the FL in other dramas before and I think she’s a fine actress and good-looking. Thus, I decided to ‘wing it’ and watch this drama. I’m thrilled that I did!

What I loved a lot:
- The chemistry between the leads is cute yet hot, sweet yet full of sizzle. They light up the screen as they are gorgeous and they have chemistry. Love seeing them together. Their development from not liking each other to being infatuated to being deeply in love is believable and realistic. Towards the end, their kisses are yummy to watch! So in love!
- The music isn’t much of a big deal but it works.
- This drama is very low on angst and has hardly any villains. I like this as I’m quite tired of dramas that are full of angst and awful, annoying villains. To me, this drama is a refreshing and happy change/ breather!
- This is my first time watching the ML but wow, I’ve also ‘fallen in like’. He’s definitely easy on the eyes and he has a gorgeous body.
- The clothes in the drama are stylish and the ML and FL look so charming!

The little bit of not so good:
- There’s no plot. Actually, nothing very much happens other than sweet fluff. Every small issue gets resolved asap so, there is little to mull over.
- The ML starts off quite stiff and he is, quite obviously, not a seasoned actor. But, he becomes better and better as the episodes go on!
- The stubborn girl, Yanran, is quite hard to watch at first but she becomes better too as the episodes go on. Some actors are quite stiff and are quite redundant. Some scenes are unbelievable but this is a drama after all.

*Overall, I highly recommend this drama especially if you are looking for something light, easy and ‘uneventful’ in a good way! :)
WATCH! :) thumbs up!*

Heartwarming, Engaging, Well-Made Drama

The reviews for this drama are good and this drama deserves them! This drama is very realistic and very well-written/ well-made.

I highly enjoyed it and I recommend it to everyone.

What I liked:
- The impressive acting from the whole cast. They were in character throughout and acted so well.
- The endearing friendship and loyalty of the five leads.
- The puppy love and budding sweet romance between the young adults is endearingly sweet. So cute.
- The drama has its up moments and its down/ sad moments. There are funny “laugh out loud” moments and super sad “misty eyed/ tears flow freely” moments. The sudden death of one of the elderly grandpas was saddening.
- The music fits the drama’s scenes quite well.
- There are many meaningful words/ ideas in the drama. This drama is a touching one.

What I didn’t like that much but was not big deal:
- He Jin Zhao was my least favourite of the cast. He was not that funny and well, just kind of “meh”.
- The female lead’s voice was both nasal and high-pitched. She sounded quite like a squeaking duck.

Nonetheless, this drama is Fabulous! It is Wonderful! It is a Must Watch, so please go on right ahead if you are hesitating! Excellent!!

Relatable and Moving

I read the (mostly) rave reviews and so, I decided to watch this drama. I must say that this drama is a well-made one which is worth watching! Kudos to the team that produced this excellent slice of life drama. I watched one episode after another. It was riveting enough to make me want to go on and on.

What I liked very much:
- Great acting. The actors and actresses were mostly very natural and acted very well.
- Growth of the characters. This drama appeared to be a “Bildungsroman” of sorts for the three ladies.
- Couple: Ji Nan Jia and Ou Yang. Cute. I liked that he was sincere and was willing to make the relationship work because he truly liked her. I liked that she warmed to him and accepted him since her heart said “yes” after her body already did.
- Couple: Qiao Xi Chen and Jian Yi Fan. I liked how he had fallen for her first and how he looked out for her. I liked how the relationship seemed to develop organically. It was a very believable relationship which I “shipped”. I liked that they were serious about each other.
- The funny moments were cute.
- The clothes were fashionable and nice-looking.
- The plot was realistic and relatable.

What I didn’t like that much:
- I was shocked by a death right from the start and the death drove the story forward. (Of course, there was plenty of back and forth as the plot unfolded to reveal things that happened in their past and how their future was unfolding.)
- Xu Yan was close to insufferable. She was self-absorbed and had a huge (wrong) sense of entitlement. She had a lot of growing up to do as she was a stunted character. She had her priorities in the wrong places like wanting branded bags or else she would throw a mighty tantrum at her poor boyfriend, Shen Zi Chang. He was a problem kid too as he was also immature and childish. Both of them couldn’t make things work because there was a total lack of honest and loving communication. Guess this drama wishes to let viewers see that open communication, having right priorities and working out differences together with the other party in mind are sorely needed in (young) couples.

Overall, I really enjoyed this slice of life drama. It was meaningful. The plot was engaging and things moved fast but felt complete. I highly recommend this drama!! Watch!!

PS: I understand that there are Extras after episode 12 (which is the final episode). If anyone has information on the Extras, please kindly share where I can watch them. Cheers.
