I have read most of the translated works of this author and honestly I'm an avid fan of her. Although the script of this drama has changed a whole lot deal, it remains the same at core. It was never ONLY about romance. At core it was about FL finding her path in life, confront her enemies, get revenge and find justice for her sufferings and at last find happiness with her lover. There is an order in it, and for this author, revange plots are always handled serious ly with very real human reactions and emotions. And interesting enough although her novels have romance it always happens near the end but it is so wholesome and beautifully carried on than it feels natural and heartwarming. I loved that this drama at its core stood true to the novel. I enjoyed watching the actors play their characters. I wish to see her most praised work "rebirth of malicious empress of militarily lineage" get the same level and perhaps even better adaptation. I love to see this authors works on screen. FL, ML, the adorable daughter and FL's mother as well as all the other actors were truly impressive

he is really, really annoying but not evil. he does care for ML and although he does try to break them apart, in the end he does have a reason. He does as ML's mother asked him to do.

I have to admit... I really loved the love story between Xuanye and Ranqing's than their son's. it was such an epic and unique story. I wish it was more than one episode. also Cheng Yi is absolutely gorgeous in Xuanye hair style and character. he has a whole other aura!

well, that's your take, and this is my take. when a drama starts strong, and the end is so sloppy like this, I say it is a disappointment. if it was meant to be happy the last bit of decency was to show a second of them and the kids to make it realistic. not to shot it at a fairy land and then finish it with the entire crew run to the horizon and CY say she just saw the most beautiful scenery.

unless the cast confirm it or there is special episode, that end is illusion, otherwise a poor execution and illogical conclusion.
