I'm really disappointed in Du daren. I was beginning to like him but WTF. He is basically telling Ning now that Ruyi has affection for you, she has to do as you say based on some BL so tell her to charm the marquise to save a worthless king who isn't even her king! anyway, she is a spy so it doesn't matter??!!! I mean the audacity to even say it in Ning's face! it is f* irritating! I know strategically sending Ruyi is the best option but the way he put it is like it is Ruyi's duty as Ning's woman to do as Ning says! he doesn't even think that if revealed Ruyi's life will be at risk!
seeing the preview of ep19-20, I won't watch any more episodes until all episodes of next week also drop. the wait is too hard and the tension in each episode is getting more. it is too stressful
I love this drama so much!! now I'm in battle with myself over watching or not watching the next episodes because as much as I want to see the next episode I keep dreading what might happen when it reaches the climax. they keep giving these happy, heartwarming scenes and all I think about is how it might all be over soon. I love the squad so much I just don't want anyone to die. The Princess in ep16 played phenomenally. it was such a powerful scene. I just want all episodes to drop already and it be happy ending and no one dies from the squad. why is it taking so long??? I wish I had waited until it finished. now I keep telling myself I won't see the next episode only to surf the Twitter and YouTube every hour for new spoilers 😐I don't remember the last time I was this attached to a drama
with the spoilers and trailers released and also the cast's name 'Ning Shisan' I have a feeling the ending for Ruyi and NYZ is happy and perhaps Ning Shisan is the name of the baby after Yu Shisan, but the squad will all die except the princess. So the ending is probably bittersweet? I don't want the squad to die but all the spoilers hint they will...
what is so refreshing is that their relationship develops so fast. ep 12 and they are together. unlike most dramas in this genre that the relationship only gets somewhere in the middle or near the end of the drama. although now that they got together, I fear they will break up too! anyhow, I really love the pacing and how honest the two are about their feelings. there is no playing hard-to-get or cold ML concealing his emotions. the FL knows what she wants and takes initiative

the first episode was a bit awkward with all the frequent and overuse of slow motions. but from episode 2 it picks up pace and I'm enjoying the story after SOKP. I hope it will stay interesting like now. the ML and FL characters are both fascinating and complex. Their chemistry is mind-blowing and their interactions are funny. I just wish it would be a happy ending. I'm kinda tempted to wait until all episodes drop to know. now is one of those times I wish it was based on a novel so I can see the ending.
