This drama had no balance. The best revenge stories are where the hero wins some, the villain wins some, and then…
This is exactly my issue. The premise was so promising and FL's character felt like wasted potential. You rarely get morally grey female characters driving the narrative and the romance in this instance diluted everything.
Is So Ji Sub a top notch actor or am I just biased because I liked his previous works? I've been watching him…
So Ji Sub played the character in one note the whole time with no emotional range here. It is a pity but Shin Sung Rok kind of was the scene stealer for the most part and was the highlight in my opinion.
Hey , it's nearly end of this drama so i want to ask if there is any romance at least near the end ? and if yes…
No romance for main leads outside their past history but i have not seen the last two episodes yet. They might pull a Military Prosecutor Doberman and slot it in the last 5min though. The second leads have a love triangle of sorts. I would not watch this for romance .
I don't like the way they styled Seo Hye Seung. She generally looks dowdy for no reason and it bothered me a bit😅 That masquerade ball outfit was just not it too. She stands out in comparison to everyone else but not in a good way. I'm not even a fashion girl but i don't get the direction they chose to go for her character's wardrobe.
Am I the only one who think LBY, SS mother , emperor and even her father wronged SS here?
LBY definitely set her up here but i think it was an impulsive decision on his part in that moment. CSS deserved a heads up at least in a perfect world. All the women in this show really do not have the luxury of agency or free will when it comes to their marriages or lives anyway.
The FL kind of grew on me in episode 7. I think i had to let go of my preconceived ideas of the character and realise that the show is going for a more ridiculous tone and not take things so serious. Her character fits the tone of the overall show that they are going for. The show is like ...if a quirky cartoon or comic were live action but amplified. All the characters are exaggerated and ridiculous even down to the ML. Once i got over that initial things that bother me the show is kind of fun and playful. I'm just going to see where it goes and roll with it.
Is the girl family drama a big part of the story ?Or does it eventually move to a more serious storyline (& around…
The story is centered around the FL mostly and that includes the family dynamics 19 episodes in . I'm not sure what you mean by serious storyline though but if you are referring to palace politics then it might be more focused in part 2? This show has serious undertones mixed in with the comedy in my opinion.
As someone who is reading the book, I MUST SAY....without spoilers, I still could not understand CSS's mother's…
I don't get the mom but she has a weird sense of pride when it comes to CSS. She won't acknowledge her own faults but quick to point out her daughters. I think she harbors a lot of guilt but uses the excuse of tough love not to confront her own wrongs She wants to instill discipline like her daughter is one of her soldiers. 15 years is long time to be without parents.
How old is the FL's character supposed to be relative to the ML? She kind of comes across more and more like the young (almost naive) , stubborn and impulsive type of character with each new episode but it comes across awkward. I only ask because her behavior contradicts the image we were introduced to in the first episode in terms of her capability as a police woman and seems weird for her to be that clueless about her brother's case if she is the ace 'ghost' who solves every case. It does not seem logical for someone setup to be so capable to be this way or is it just for comedic value? Her fixation on Nam Han Joon seems forced or out of place. Is it her needing a substitute to blame out of grief ? Something feels off in the way the character is written.
