Making this a two part movie (1st movie until Kota's death, 2nd movie the rest) or a high budget limited series could make this work a classic. So much content to explore like Rui's background, a massive increase in Nobunaga's screentime, the Fencing/Karate duo and many more.

The main issue is that this is too short, they want to compressed everything making the second half of the movie a big mess.

Everyone deserve a partner like Taiga, he's the best!

Given that, my guess:
Shin-Rina->Teppei's granny, Shin is most likely die in the final arc.
Asako-Kensho->Leave the Island earlier, that's why she's feeling guilty on Ep.1
Teppei-Yuriko->Die in Hashima
