It's narrowed down to either Hoshizaki or Nishino (or if writer-san messing with us, whoever taller than Ugumori is the killer) and Sagara is obviously "Snape". The face-off scene basically confirm that the students who announced in the first batch is not the killer, Akutsu is a misdirection.
Wait... Sagara? Did I miss something that makes it a certain theory? I do agree that it feels like it. Like he…
During the pachinko scene, Enami's ex said to Sagara that everything went "off-script" and Sagara is the one whose really pissed-off when everything is off the plan.
It's either that, or he really wants to make Kujo suffer but did not succeed in the previous timeline. Your theory is true if Sagara knew that one of the students is the killer (Popular theory is Okudaira Daiken's character or the first wave of student who got revealed alongside Matsuoka Mayu).
Jarring tonal shift, a slew of comic reliefs shoved in the middle of serious situation by sacrificing characters…
Yup, I can see the similarities with Keizoku series but without too much showa/early heisei pop culture referrence and meta jokes.
It's probably due to Miike's experience as Toku director, it's going to be stale in the first part and later there is no room to breath. Other than his K-drama project this is his first "A" drama project after Koshonin. A bit surprising because he has an excellent writer.
Also if you already watch Episode 5, they reveal something interesting too.

They also purposefuly shows that Suzuki is a Catholic, he's part of 別班 too?
Edit:
Ahh he's just having multiple personality.
