After watching ep 19: You crazy psychopath, you’re doomed now. You think you can completely manipulate her. You think she’s a pushover. You have no idea what she’s made of. You will be punished for what you’ve been doing. Noe the game started. Three episodes left, things are about to get crazy.
After watching Episode 10: this drama really lives up to its title. What a freaking fantastic direction and performances, wow. It’s dark, wrenching, suspenseful, and keeps you on the edge, making you want to explore the characters more deeply, like you just need to know more about them. And beneath all that darkness, there’s this subtle, slow-burn romantic tension, unspoken, haunting, and quietly intense,that just pulls you in even more. The kind of dark, mysterious character Wu Kang Ren plays as Luo Liang , I think it should be a textbook study of acting. He’s phenomenal. I’m hooked and can’t wait for the next episodes. And a special mention to the editing, I’m loving the flow; there are literally close to zero boring moments. It’s extremely dark, with deeply disturbing scenes that are hard to sit through. If you’re sensitive or have a weak heart, stay away from it.

Great, hope you enjoy it. And yes, there’s a body double in the boat scene (see the behind shots of Zhou Jin, you’ll notice it’s not her), which feels like weak direction. And about overanalyzing.. I don’t really nitpick tbh, but obvious things are hard to ignore. When the flow of a drama isn’t set right, especially from episode 1, it affects the next episodes too. I can’t fully concentrate or immerse myself in it. Btw, happy watching.
after watching Episode 1: honestly, disappointing. I came in because of Elvira Cai, expecting something engaging with solid drama, but it turned out really bad. One of the worst directions I’ve seen in any drama. The director clearly doesn’t understand what this drama is supposed to be, so the nuances, setting, and overall environment just don’t land right. The writing and character interactions are nothing special, and it all feels like the work of an immature director. It’s hard to ignore so many mistakes. For example, that boat scene... they used a body double (which is normal in dramas and movies), but it was so obvious you could instantly tell it wasn’t her. That’s poor direction. It might not seem like a big deal, but I just can’t unsee things like that. My instinct tells it's not going in the right direction there's no thrill or excitement at all in the entire episode. On top of that, the camera angles are off, the execution feels weak, and the production value is very mid. Overall, I just can’t push myself to continue this. I think I need to drop it here.

Yeah, it was painful for me too. I didn’t even watch three episodes in one go... I only continued in my free time because I like the lead actors. But it just didn’t work for me at all. The performances didn’t click, and the whole university student approach felt completely off. The way they played those characters didn’t feel convincing. The dialogues were bad, and the performances too. Don’t ask me about the screenplay and direction. Honestly, if they had gone with different younger actors and shown them alongside the older ones, it might have worked better. Not sure.
Wang Xing Yue- I’ve seen him in some works, and honestly, he’s a very bad actor and quite unattractive. He definitely doesn’t feel like lead hero material. He just doesn’t have the charm or presence to carry a drama. I’m not sure how this one is going to turn out, but I’ll still check it out because Xu Ruo Han is in it-she’s just brilliant.
