After watching Episode 10: Woo Hyeon Jin and Park Yun Seong are the main leads here, Seon Tae Hyeong is just a sidekick, i mean such a pathetic writing and direction, performances are so poor and terrible editing ruined the experience completely. What started as a slice-of-life rom-com about taking care of a nephew suddenly turned into a wild, unnecessary love triangle. I don’t know who approved this genre shift, whichever creative head made this decision took the dumbest call for the drama.
And about the performances, don’t get me started. Most of them were poor i mean so bad it's hard to sit through. Bae In Hyuk handled some emotional scenes well and delivered those dialogues nicely, but the rest felt emotionless and robotic. And when you’re confessing your feelings, can’t you at least say the person’s name? Why confess by saying “sadun”? I laughed there, such lazy writing and direction. the kiss scenes… many korean dramas doing them beautifully in recent past, but here it was awkward as hell. I don’t know if it’s the actors or the director fault, but a kiss should carry emotion and feeling. Here it lacked everything , no chemistry, no attraction, nothing. At this point everyone already knows how it’s going to end. The screenplay is the biggest fraud, it’s not engaging at all.
This show actually showed me a bigger picture of how badly korean dramas are going these days. It’s also a reminder that Chinese dramas currently have much more versatility. Yes, some have a bit of propaganda, but overall the quality and variety of stories are getting better there.
After watching Episode 2- I think I'm getting addicted, the suspense is on point. And I think it's going to get better with each episode. Yes, some scenes are slow and dragged a little long, but the music and overall vibe are kind of intact.
Man, am I the dumbest one? I was waiting for Overdo for ages, and didn’t even realize that Zhang Ling He has another release before that, and it’s this month, with only two days to go. 😭
How is this drama part of The First Frost universe? I really can't wait for it. I want the nuances to feel just as pure as they did in The First Frost. I hope they keep that same depth and emotion.
After watching Episode 3, I still don’t even know what mood I’m in, but I just can’t sit through this pathetic performance anymore. The story itself is actually good, yet something keeps bothering me, and I simply can’t engage with it. I guess I have to drop it.
