Well, we cannot say he did not like Zeng Di type.
I was just now translating the chapter where we have Zeng Di's inner monologue - It's in Chapter 38. It goes like this:

Suddenly, she regretted it. She regretted meeting Han Ting three years ago. He liked her, but she couldn't change her way of doing things for her own interests. By the time she had the ability to change, her identity in his heart was already fixed.
At first, she didn't mind, even if she continued with this identity, he was not seeing other women. But she never expected that he would find a new woman at this time.

This was the monologue that implied that Han Ting had originally liked Zeng Di. They got into an open relationship... it could be something more - if only she hadn't taken the term open relationship so seriously.

I don't think Han Ting has a "type" he likes, at least from what I perceived of the novel.
He is a cold-hearted, calculative, ruthless businessman who always smiles -- that's the best description of him.

I think he was physically attracted to her at first (and vice-versa from Ji Xing's side as well. Their relationship basically started with them having a one-night stand out of nowhere.. because of a bet!! At least they weren't drunk, thank god!) - just like his previous relationships - where he only pursued his physical needs and nothing more.
Zeng Di, the woman he was with in the first third of the novel, best describes him as someone who doesn't care about feelings of romance. Only physical pleasure. He finds these feelings troublesome and a waste of time.
Han Ting, however, later realizes that he's fallen in love with Ji Xing.

So, I don't think Han Ting has a type.

If the drama is adapting close to the novel, then it is understandable that Xu Kai and 7 are not filming together a lot in the early stages. Injury or no injury. Their characters have very few interactions together in the first third of the novel.

Makes sense.. in that case, they shouldn't put this as an adaptation of The Dreamer in the Spring Boudoir. Except for ML and FL (and a few other characters) names matching with characters of the novel, there is basically nothing else is as the novel.
I also notice that a lot of the characters in the novel are not there in the show, some very important characters.. like ML's cousins (a male and a female). The male cousin can be considered as 2nd ML, cause he is in love with Ji Man (a few times when ML is unable to save Ji Man to avoid putting her at more risk, he guides 2nd ML to Ji Man so he can save her instead). The female cousin is "Nie Sangyu's" best friend, and she also marries "Nie Sangyu's" older brother.
They play a huge role in the story..

I read this novel a while ago, don't think explicit content will make to the drama.
There are a few other novels with a lot more steamy scenes, but the drama adaptations did not include them.

I am curious though, since Sang Zhi's brother, Sang Yan, is also a ML of his own novel.. Will they retain him if they adapt that novel too?
Sang Yan's novel is called "First Frost".

In the novel, Ning Yuxuan had a lot of concubines.. and yes, they are all political. Only except Wen Wan, whom he "truly loves", because she is the "FL" and he is the "ML".
I don't know about the series, but the novel is a lot more complicated. ML is basically this dude who has complete control over all departments. He is only below the Emperor. So, all the princes are eying him in their battle to the throne.
First prince "gifted" a few concubines. Third prince, who is also Nie Sangyu's cousin (her father's sister is an imperial concubine), also "gifted" one or two. And some of these concubines are double agents.. some even triple agents..
So, he will have to frequently favor them all just to avoid any complications.
There's a plot where the First prince starts to doubt that ML is slowly falling for "Nie Sangyu".. and he can't have that. Because, if that happens, ML might support the Third prince. So the first prince tries to seduce "Nie Sangyu". Even plots to off her once he realizes that "Nie Sangyu" isn't falling for this seduction.
ML gets self-aware and then distances himself from FL. He brings in another concubine and favors her a lot. He even further acts like he is smitten with Wen Wan too.

Ok, with the amnesia and twin sisters combined plot, where FL believes she is the evil twin sister until she finds out the truth later.. this is a plot of another novel I am planning to read soon - Novel link below:

That's funny, because Wen Wan was the FL in the novel Ji Man read in the novel version. Of course, with Ji Man's appearance, Wen Wan then turns into a cannon fodder.

A best example for the term "cannon fodder" is - A female side character who has a crush on ML.. often causes trouble to FL.. in the end meets a very tragic end.
Yes, in the series adaptation, they have changed it because of the Chinese censorship, sadly. And as they changed this Transmigration plot into a Twin story, then I feel I, and even Ji Man, cannot forgive the ML for what he did to Nie Sang Yu, no matter how much he changed.

Ok, so I see there are a lot of changes from the novel to the series:

In the novel, Ji Man transmigrated into a Cannon Fodder Supporting Female Character, Nie Sang Yu, in a novel she read. So ML, as per Chinese dramas and novels "ML standards", really despises this cannon fodder for harming the novel FL and so he pushes her to the point of suicide. Don't the demographic audience like this kind of ML who only loves his FL and is despising of other female characters who come between him and FL?
So yeah, that's the ML we have. And Ji Man just happened to transmigrate into one of those women who was despised by the ML. His character setting is like that.
So, with the changes in the series, I can see why ML looks like a complete jerk. I'm not watching this series. I do encourage you to read the novel though. It is so much fun.
Don't worry that ML has concubines and he frequents them a lot. Cause, Ji Man doesn't like him and really does not give a care that he does that for most of the novel. Only in the last 3rd of the novel, after a very well written character development (from a scumbag to a person who only loves Ji Man) from ML.. and a lot of chasing, does Ji Man reciprocate his feelings.

They could be registering now and wedding later?

Here we have a ML who is like a typical FL you see in Chinese dramas. He only loves FL and rejects all other women.. but he is very polite in his rejections.. so not like the the other MLs we come across in Chinese dramas or novels.
He feels so real. Even the FL in this novel feels very real.

FL is very insecure of ML's attitude towards women around him, and she has a very good reason for it too. Her ex bf cheated on her.. and she also had to go through an abortion because of it (Yes, neither ML and FL here are pure virgins!!).

So, ML's ex comes back and tries to get back with him. He politely rejects her, of course. His ex then changes tactics and tries to appear in front of him (seemingly with no other intentions.. "coincidences").. him being a gentleman does not mind it. Because to him, he already rejected her and she gave up on him.

I really liked .. no LOVED this novel, and the ML too.. but of course, there are lot of people reviewing this novel did not like the ML.

The FL in this novel is one of favorite characters ever. Totally loved her. Give it a chance if you guys are up to it.
Going by the title -
Arrogant = FL
Passionate = ML

I guess I can offer an hypothetical situation..
Just imagine there is a drama - where ML and FL are married. ML's ex comes back and she is now ML's co-worker. ML is also in a situation where he cannot change jobs, because reasons. ML's ex is constantly trying to get him back and making moves on him. But ML is doing nothing to get away from his ex (but he is clear he does not like her.. and explains to FL about same..) and instead taking her help to sort out his problems.

I would like to ask everyone here, do you think you can like this kind of ML? Even if you like this ML, would you say no one else would mind this kind of ML? There would be an outrage on social media, calling him the worst ML ever. Do you no think so?

And I understand the point mooc is making here - Yes, the MLs is Chinese dramas and novels are basically character you do not see in real life.
The MLs I am taking about are of course the ones who do not care about any other females apart from FL. He's cold and even ruthless to other females but is so warm only to the FL. I would say, even if this kind of person exists in real life, I would suggest he consult a psychiatrist. He's got some problems always having this cold face and being ruthless to other women that are not FL. I would also suggest this FL to stay away from this person, as no one could not guarantee he would be the same way to FL once their love wears off or something.

Yes, and the fact that people here are trying their best to defend many of FL's actions in those 35 Episodes and then trying to put the blame on ML for his one action in the last episode says a lot about it.

And yes, QS made it clear she doesn't have feelings for her ex.
But, to YH, QS also has no romantic feeling for him too. She is only in this marriage because she would never divorce, never cheat, never remarry. And when he asked her if she would go back to her ex, her answer was "I am married to you. I would never cheat."
That isn't assuring at all. If only should could be more open about her feelings.

He is not forcing her into anything, I don't believe so. The ball was still in QS's court. To him, she does not reciprocate his feelings. So what does it matter if she misunderstood him? If she came to the airport, then he would know what she feels about him.
Again, it was a bad move, and I acknowledge that. But that's a man desperate to know what his beloved thinks of him. So he made that move. So I understand him.

A simple solution for QS to stay away from her ex, who is still pursuing her, while being engaged to another woman.. And she, a married woman - Leave that firm and join another firm that values her.

And what you are saying sounds like QS is using her ex's feelings for her to get cases , which is also not a good look.

QS knows what YH feels about her. She also knows he does not love his ex, because the woman he loves is her, QS. He let her know that before. Even when they divorced, he let her know what he feels. That he stands by his promises. She also acknowledged that if she had responded to his feelings then, they would be fine and did not have to go through the divorce. It's her indecisive actions that lead to all this.
Whatever YH did after is not his fault.. He didn't have to defend himself when he is clear to himself, and even QS, that the one he loves is QS. The fact that QS came to love him is because she believes he loves her too. Then why all the drama?
