XiaoChen means Sunrise.
XingChen means Starry Sky.

When Ji Xing was with Shao Yichen, Han Ting had no feelings for her. He himself was in a friends-with-benefits relationship with another woman at this time.

I watched this FL in Ten Years Late -- didn't find her acting bad.. at least I had no complaints. All I remember about her was that she's damn beautiful.

But, as I said previously, I'm not concerned about her acting (especially with this drama, where an actor's ability is not at all tested), rather concerned about her track record. None of her dramas in MDL have rating higher than 7.8.

I just hope she breaks her curse this time around.

Yeah, I agree. Even if this was a cliche CEO story, I would still watch it too, for XK and TSY.
If the drama sticks to the original characterization of Han Ting and Ji Xing from the novel, then you don't have to worry about this story turning into a cliche CEO story.
In fact, this novel had little to none cliches
So no enemies turned lovers.. or cold CEOs turned loverboys.

I don't understand Chinese actors and actresses who are already as thin as they could be and still be obsessed with losing weight.

I think they could look a lot better if they weren't so thin, just my feeling.

Waiting For You In A City touches upon Class difference -- Abuse of power -- Mental health issues.

As Beautiful As Beijing touches upon Workforce injustice (superior stopping her promotion), Workforce harassment, Cruelty of Business world.

But, again, the main point is: If they are adapted well.

I'm not worried about her acting skills, rather her track record. None of her dramas did well. At least on here at MDL. No drama in 8.0 or above.

Yes, it is happy ending. And you can trust this author to write a very good story.
--And if her stories are adapted well, you already saw the result of Better Days.

Xu Kai is 28, close to 30 himself. He has experience in playing the "cold, domineering" characters like Bai Jue (ALP) and Li Shen Shen (The Legends). He even played an Emperor (Royal Feast), and a General (Court Lady).
He has two new dramas coming soon -- in one of them, he is a General/Prince (Wonderland of Love); in the other, he is playing the infamous Dong Bo Xue Ying (Snow Eagle Lord).

I think the aura he carried while playing these characters is enough for him to play a CEO. He may have the so-called "baby face", but what really matters is the aura of a cold, domineering personality, which Xu Kai most definitely has.
We have seen many "mature face" actors play CEOs, but they have the weakest of auras.
So let's not jump to conclusions.

I am also a fan of Yang Yang, so I am looking forward to Waiting For You In A City drama adaptation.
If they swapped Yang Yang and Xu Kai roles, it would be even perfect fit, if you ask me. Yang Yang as Han Ting, Xu Kai as Song Yan.
Xu Kai's age matches with Song Yan, ML of Waiting For You In A City. Both around 28 years old.
