Most of these posters calling FL cheater probably are just teenagers or incels who don't know shit about relationships.

Y'all put yourself in FL's shoes. You grow up with a guy who literally lives in your home, grew up with you, protected you, doted on you, and you even end up dating him. Then the guy "cheats on you" after your brother gets murdered, gets "imprisoned", comes out and becomes a "criminal". Then you find out that he never cheated, and he never became criminal, but rather went undercover to catch your brother's killer.

How would one react in this situation. Yes, FL moved on with ML, but that doesn't mean she can be indifferent to SML who is like a family, who went through hell to bring justice to her brother. In fact, I would question her character if she were indifferent to SML.

I guess the only thing I can blame FL for is that she couldn't communicate her feelings/thoughts with ML after the fact. Maybe she is still processing all this, but it is a fact that ML is getting insecure. One thing she did communicate with ML before is that she "was in love with SML", and that she's not anymore (especially since she got intimate with ML.. I don't believe FL can get intimate with other men if she was still in love SML). And I believe it. She is not in love with SML anymore, but there is love. It's not romantic love between a man and a woman, at least not on her side. It's familial love. People need to know the difference.

ML is feeling utterly insecure, and it's not his fault. Although FL is not "emotionally cheating", as some are saying, she also does not communicate her feelings/thoughts with ML. That's why we had that scene in last night's episode where ML tells FL to be open and without reservations around him, he can take it.

I don't get why people are mad over FL caring for SML. Are you guys even watching the drama? FL and SML literally grew up together. They were (still are) family. Even if they are not a couple, they still have this strong bond that cannot be broken. Even if she fell in love with the ML, she will still care for SML (as a friend, of course), and would hope for his best.

I also saw anm video on twitter (the first date on the boat), and I almost thought it was Zhang Bin Bin's new drama.

I'm sure there are. I only recognize these three at the moment.

I haven't watched the other dramas, but I will check them out.

I spot three actors from My Dear Guardian in this drama.

1. Fu Cheng Peng -- Brother He, He Wu.. he played a high ranking police officer in My Dear Guardian, even went undercover as a criminal.

2. Zhao Xun -- The serial killer introduced in ep 8. The actor played an army officer in My Dear Guardian, he also goes undercover with Fu Cheng Peng's character. It's funny both actors are playing the bad guys in this drama. They were phenomenal as undercover agents in My Dear Guardian.

3. Xu Hong Hao -- Chief Tan, FL's teacher in both the dramas lol.

FIYS and ALP aired at the same time. At that time, I was eagerly waiting for FIYS cause I loved the novel, so I decided to watch it live and keep ALP on hold until all episodes are up.
I absolutely loved FIYS, and I'm also glad I waited until all episodes of ALP were up before binge-watching it. ALP officially became my #1 c-drama, not just Xu Kai's #1.

If you are looking for another romance drama of Xu Kai, I suggest Wonderland of Love.

Btw, I noticed you have watched The Last Immortal.. then you should know, Bai Jue and Shang Gu (ML and FL of ALP) are parents of Yuan Qi (ML of TLI).
The stories are connected in the novel, but the dramas were made as standalones.

I meant, the novel does not open with Bai Jue and Shang Gu, it opens with Hou Chi and Qing Mu.

Bai Jue and Shang Gu's story is told in flashbacks in the novel, whereas the drama opened with Shang Gu and Bai Jue, so basically, going by the novel, the story starts at episode 16-17, and the first 16 episodes are told in flashbacks in the novel.

Hope you will like it. But again, no pressure, it's alright if you don't. Not everyone has same taste, and it is understandable if you cannot get into it.
I have also found it hard to get into a few incredibly popular dramas.

She's a movie actress who won best actress award at a very young age. Usually movie stars don't star in tv dramas, so it is quite rare that we get to see her grace her presence in a drama.

She also got unfairly criticized (more like bullied) by some of the usual tv actresses' fandoms in China for not being beautiful yet starring in xianxia drama, so it is understandable that she didn't think of coming back to do more dramas.
I personally believe these critics should get their eyes checked out, cause wdym she's not beautiful??

ALP is adapted from a novel. First 16 episodes are told in flashbacks (is what I heard) in the novel, but the drama chose to expand on it, and I thank the scriptwriter for doing that. You will understand why later, cause I don't want to spoil.
