Thanks for the reply ☺️. Myself I use it as I don't want to start a drama that is 40 episodes without knowing whether the ending is satisfying or not. It's easy to check comment or ask about the ending if it's a new drama, you will get the reply fast enough but after few months or few years you will have wait for a long time for someone to reply as there will be barely any people in comment section or you have to go 100s or 1000s of comments to find this question answered before or not as well. It's really troublesome

I feel like people keep asking about both of these things, especially for romance dramas, but there’s no easy way to find it in one place. Curious if others would actually use something like this or if it’s just a niche thing.

Based on what? Because of Double? Then you never seen Ever Night, Arthur was 17 in that drama and has more aura and badass moments than many older idol actors.

Don't bring up the manipulated/inflated drama lol. Its hilarious how the tencent bug completely disappers just before a new costume drama airs

If you notice the dramas that are currently being shot or even look up at yours favourite actors upcoming drama. You will rarely find a xianxia drama in their lineup. I can only think of Hidden Shadow and Eternal fragrance which shot long time ago,

Decently is the key word here both performed average and even the data for these dramas was pushed through cloud bookings by Yu Zheng to hit the 10k heat index mark. So it requires something extraordinary for a xianxia drama to be explosive. Last year's historical costume dramas like Legend of Zang Hai, Coroner Diary aa nd Prisoner of Beauty, Glory all are ok drama and definitely not extraordinary but they performed very well and became hits. You can include Blossom as well to that list. So I am just saying it's very hard for a xianxia drama to be a hit while historical fiction needs to be decent to ok

Yes, this should not have made at all. As I said the new generation of fans are less interested in this genre. I think majority of xianxia fans are from Eternal Love, Love & Redemption days. Remember how popular xianxia drama used to be few years ago, the last xianxia hit was legend of shenli and that was two years ago, It only gotten worse since then. Other older actress already burnt themselves doing xianxia in last few years like Yang Mi red moon pact, Liu shishi love in pavilion,Tan song yun Unclouded soul, Bai lu feud, Tiffany tang a moment but forever, Ju jingyi and Yu shuxin sword and fairy shows etc

Let's see how it does on weekends. These dramas have younger women audience, they don't like older fl younger ml relationship in dramas that are targeted to them as they find them less relatable. Yes, I like noona drama trope, Find Yourself and Rational Life are very good. So it's more about what type of age gap is portrayed in dramas, I think xianxia genre is targeted towards younger audience, I am talking about like 15 to 20 years old women. So this trope won't work here as the audience can't self insert themselves and may find older female lead less relatable. Maybe but it doesn't change what I said about the current trend. It's what it is, I wanted it to be explosive hit but reality hits hard 😅. I am not blaming or questioning the quality, I was just sharing it's performance.

The trend is more important than absolute value, the current trend suggests it's not going to do much more than 27k in future, max it can reach 28k by next week which is not at all good. Obviously it can still bring some suprise, let's see the trend in weekdays but I am not optimistic

This drama trending was very poor today, it's struggled very badly today on the heat index. Xianxia/Fantasy dramas are not doing well for some time, If this drama underperforms which is looking very much likely then expect even fewer dramas from this genre in future. Historical fiction is way more popular nowadays. But don't let data get in the way of enjoying the drama, I was just sharing some info on its performance

No it's performance was not good today at all. Majority of Tencent costume dramas aired at 6 pm in recent years so we can only compare to shows like Prisoner of Beauty which aired at 12 pm and by the end of second day, it's popularity reached 28k where this show barely reached 27k. This show also started airing on weekend which boosted performance while Prisoner of Beauty started on Tuesday weekday despite that it's still finished lower and it's going to be bad from tomorrow onwards. I know it's only two days but a show like this which has a popular lead, the trend has been poor today and it's only get worse

It feels like what I said earlier is proving to be true the era of Xianxia/fantasy dramas may be fading, especially with the underperformance of Love Beyond the Grave. The fact that we have to look nearly two years back to find a major hit, like The Legend of Shen Li, says a lot. Another factor could be that younger female audiences may struggle to self insert into stories where the female lead is older, which might be affecting the show’s appeal as well.
