No one is really shipping Qiu Shui with any of the other male leads. As for Tang Feng, her personality was pretty…
If it had only happened once, I would have agreed. But I've seen the same pattern in Blood of Youth, Dashing Youth, Guardians of Dafeng, and the recent Legend of Zang Hai. As for the point 'she injured Qiu Shui for no reason' honestly, this kind of scene shows up in almost every costume drama. It's a classic trope where the female lead stabs or hurts the male lead in some way, yet I don't see anyone hating the female leads in those dramas for it.
I find it quite unsettling that, whenever I check the comment sections of male-centric dramas, many viewers mostly women tend to interpret these shows as BL simply because they can't self insert due to the lack of a main female lead. Since BL dramas are banned, they seem to use these male focused stories as a substitute. But the truth is, most wuxia dramas have always included romantic subplots. In fact, all of Jin Yong’s novels featured strong romantic elements, which heavily influenced the development of the wuxia genre overall.
Another pattern I’ve noticed is how these same viewers often criticize the romance in these dramas as poorly written, express dislike toward the female characters, and instead ship the male lead with the second or third male characters. This trend seems less about the actual writing and more about projecting a desire for BL dynamics where none were intended.
the ML abuses the FL consistently and cruelly but she puts up with it because hes handsome and shes just a girl.…
By your logic, does that mean most C-dramas show female leads abusing male leads? And what exactly do you mean by 'abuse' here? If you consider this abuse, then either you're living in a fantasy world or you're not used to seeing a male lead who isn't the typical simp often portrayed in these dramas.
Any misunderstanding? If yes for how many episodes ?Break up ? Ep. No. & For how many episodes ?Jail ,Betrayal…
misunderstanding -- not sure if there was any misunderstanding, there might be one and it lasted around 2 episodes break up -- episode 19 Jail ,Betrayal and sad scenes - 3 or 4 episodes maybe Love triangle -- nope, this is probably one of the rarest chinese drama which focuses majority of the screen time on the main leads/couple, this is one of the reasons its kind of unique and if you end up liking it, you will not find many or if any similar drama and reason many people re watch it frequently
Finally, Arthur playing a general character, he has ability to pull off many crazy martial arts scenes as we have seen already in Ever Night and also nice to see Dilraba playing a badass role here and obviously she looks very beautiful in the trailer. There won't be any chemistry issue due to age as the script itself requires an older female lead, both of them are proven to be good at generating chemistry with their co starts and the reuters also seem to indicate they are comfortable with each other and will have crazy chemistry
I ended up in a Reddit post about his new drama rumor and saw all these posters bashing him for not accepting a second billing position to more established senior actresses like Wu Jinyan and Li Qin, and even feeling sorry for Lu Yunxiao for being cast alongside him.
But honestly, there’s no such thing as guaranteed billing just because someone is "established." Do you really think Zhao Lusi would give up first billing to someone like William Chan just because he’s senior? That’s not how it works. It's all about who brings in the viewers.
That’s why you often see senior actresses paired with younger actors they can secure first billing more easily. If they acted opposite older, equally established male actors, they'd likely have to give that up. But that rarely happens, because everyone is negotiating based on their own value.
If those senior actresses had done tons of dramas but only a few actually did well, producers aren't going to risk casting them with unknown male leads. They bring in popular male leads to anchor the project but it's unrealistic to expect those actors to just accept second billing without discussion.
These kinds of negotiations are standard in the industry everywhere. The real question is: who’s leaking these details and trying to paint him in a negative light?
THIS! This is funny. By what right do you come to demand that he deserves to work with serious actresses when…
Him being a nepo or doesn't matter. Do you seriously think there exists any idol actor/actress without having any serious backing in industry? All have backing in some way
Scriptwriter has messed up the plot after the first 20 episodes. The shows views on yunhe charts and heat have dropped drastically in last few days. The changes to the novel are being heavily criticized by chinese novel fans
there a thousand of new actors are willing to get this drama for 2nd billing if actor and his fanbase dont want…
At the end of the day, it's the producers who want to cast him, lol. No producer is going to willingly invest in a new actor without an existing fanbase. Their main goal is to make money, and for that, the project needs to be popular. Just because a drama is good doesn’t automatically mean it will be successful.
