Dropped this a while back, started it up again and I remember why I dropped it... Bai Lu's overacting in some scenes really turned me off. And what's with the shouting, it's like most statements are an announcement, or it's as if she's trying to be heard over a microphone, that's annoying. I rewatched scenes in her later drama and she's definitely improved.
Finally finished this and was left underwhelmed and deflated. So many scenes could've been sweet but they all just fell flat. The build-ups were there... but then it fizzed out. There was no real development from HS to when they finally got together. Sure they were together but the warmth and fuzziness just didn't exist for me. Nicest moment was his vows at the wedding but apart from that, nothing else is memorable.

When men want a career, is it for any other reason than because they want a career?! Are they even asked why they want a career?!You want to be a housewife and find pleasure in it, fair enough, of course it doesn't make you less of a woman. By the same token, wanting a career and not wanting to be just a mother and wife also don't make those women any less of a woman. You can have what you want without putting down other women's choices. Just be glad you live in an era where you get to make those choices for yourself, even of it's not the case for a lot of women.
And you don't have to be a "modern" woman to want a career and raise a family. You are a woman who would like a career and be at home, you want it? you're entitled to it, you go for it, it's not for any other person to label.
aahhh Lu Chen... I haven't watched him in many dramas, i think only Love o2o movie which I don't remember much. He's definitely Mr Dreamy, hooottt is an understatement but I did find him a bit stiff literally, that it was awkward for me to watch in some bits. Some of their interactions I didn't find natural... some of the staring into each other's eyes felt forced and dragged out...
Seven - I've become a huge fan of gers watching most of her stuff. I'm finding that this was my least of hers... her character was sickly sweet and the smiles were too much... I didn't really feel connected with her character, I'm not sure why...
As for the whole show, I felt flat watching it... there was constant build-ups but it didn't go anywhere. A lot of their skinships ended up with a not so authentic peck. I loved the whole high sch interactions but after they got together, it was just bleh... I wasn't interested in any of his work stuff and got bored with that.
Another thing which annoyed me was the way they handled Lu Chen's father's arc. I felt the drama was a bit gutless in resolving his father's drinking problem just like that, no realistic development, no consequences.
I was so looking fwd to this but I was a bit disappointed. Might rewatch another time when I'm maybe in a better mood. Def wouldn't mind watching Lu Chen again.
