What YL did to Qiu’s family is unforgivable that ultimately caused death, rape, mishaps, hardships in that family when QY’s dad was innocent. Total no respect for YL & all because of his personal vendetta with LY. Should keep going after LY if he had the xxxx. The Qiu family could have ended up much worst.

This is the type of light, funny, enjoyable, no brainer romcom which I enjoyed very much looking forward to.

A romcom with a narcissistic but v capable, smart ML. Hardworking & good natured FL, Usual characteristic & tropes of romcom in 1st epi, funny too. I enjoyed it for what it is & looking forward to more episodes.

In particular, his excited, cute facial response when LY waved from the rooftop to release the lanterns, 😊 . Becos of these few tragedies, m waiting till all episodes are out before i watch the last 8 episodes.

QY’s attempt at eloping did damage her reputation, hence her family compromised & tried to marry her off to a very old man / dubious relative with several wives alrdy to prevent further damage to the reputation of the rest of Qiu’s sisters. Her subsequent investigative escapades were not widely reported (servants/supporting soldiers on both sides may not know exactly who she was). Neither LY nor QY mentioned to her family details of her involvement & how (the ordeal/danger) she managed to find out the truth of the fake notes case, etc. Viewers get to see everything unfold in details but not those characters in the drama. But i understand where you’re coming from.

A well made short drama of 3 seasons ( 3rd season starting 11 Feb’22) with good cast, nice costumes, decent storyline altho not very original.

FL is a strong courageous woman; tried to follow parents’ wishes & marry a general’s son, but got herself almost buried alive with the dead groom altho the groom’s death had nothing to do with her, then her family tried to marry her to an old gentleman, later to a distant relative with dubious background/character with numerous wives/concubines, hence she decided she should decide on her own fate. She chose to pursue/return the 2nd ML’s attention because she found he’s a nice guy which is a good reason enough for her to marry him. Far better than those options the family has found for her.
